modified belle's

I have some belle's I would consider bringing.....they are in a modified setup now with 805 altecs and 2404 jbls....but I can set them up to original in 1hr or less....I would bring the alk universal networks instead of the the es500T and es5800 I am currently using....also have some heresy II with homemade networks to bring.....thanks -Al

hi Al K..... if cost is not an issue, what are your thoughts of replacing the solen caps in the es500T networks, especially the the 18uF's , 16uF and the 33uF...also what about replacing the caps in the es5800 ? thanks Al S

jc....I have used both the ALK universal and es500T with an altec 416 Z 8ohm woofer in a home made model 19 enclosure and although I cannot and do not have a way to measure the response it seemed to go deeper then my belle bass bin and was punchier too.....

I am building some Classics and some of the angles were confusing......plus I needed more dimensions....so I redrew the plans.....I also modified things for 1" wall thickness instead of 3/4"......I will be glad to create .pdf files and email them if you want to use them as a reference -Al

Belle's are fun to mod...lots of options......this is my latest....this way I can adjust the 2404....it sounds better back futher then forward....

wow.....received my es5800's from Al K and these whoop some serious sound.....I was using the universal squawker/high section.....still moving some settings around to fine tune but these are very nice.....using with belle woofer bin, jbl 2470's with 511b and jbl 2404 tweeters.....my thanks to Al K......

started my classic build...got all the outside pieces cut ...then went to the inside stuff and the angles didn't make sense...so redrew it and now have some dwgs with good dim's..... I will cut these on the weekend and see how it goes together -Al

oops.......my girlfriend saw her pillows stuffed on top and bottom my 511bs.....didi it until I dampen them.....she was wondering where they went....I blamed the dog.....

JC.....this is how I am using the tweeter section of my alk universals....I also have some tweeter attenuators with the 2404s.....

I know...I gotta move the raised inductor.....it'll drive me crazy until I do....

yes I am......only built one so far....next is an onken....its all about bass...or no ?....

thanks to AL K for sharing his design and thanks for all his help....these are awesome....I am currently using the tweeter section from my alk universals until the es5800 arrive.....

hi Tom......I have not tried the k55m on my 511b horns......maybe I will this weekend as I have some threaded adapters from parts express.....I went from the 808s to the 902s and then to the 2470s...the 2470s seem to have greater detail throughout the entire mid range......with the 808s and 902s I used the 0 - 4 taps as they are 8ohm drivers....with the 2470s the settings are 2 - 5......I am also using some of AL Ks tweeter attentuators with my 2404s and the setting is 3....don't get me wrong though because the altec drivers were both really nice too.....the effort was minimal.....I used the parts express aadpters as a template to drill the 3-hole pattern in the 511b's needed for the 2470's.....it took less then an hour to have them both hooked up.....as far as cost, I paid ~$220 for the 2470's......they have the original phenolic diaphragms and eventually I may get some aluminum ones -Al

what am I missing ? or not hearing ?.....I replaced the k55m and horn in my belle with a altec 511b.....I have tried the altec 808a and 902-8t and the JBL 2470....the JBLs are the best that I have used.....also using alk universal networks with 2404 tweeters.....I haven't tried the k55 with the 511bs -Al
