  1. All you have to do is turn off your computer and *poof* instant vacation.
  2. Hmm.. where there is a will.. there is a way. The Sats would need a bit of modification but I don't think there would be that much improvement. My Brother has Sherwood NewCastle equipment and VanDerStene Speakers Bi-Wired with Kimber Kables
  3. Ah.. actually, my friends Gateway laptop did this too. I will try to remember to ask him how he fixed it. His might have been just a reboot. If you want, you can call Dell 24hr Tech support @ 1-800-624-9896 and ask them.
  4. LOL... I even posted in that thread. I guess I should pay attention to who makes each post.
  5. Coo1asice is referring to electricially and not to how they sound
  6. I have been without Pros for over a year, and yet I will be getting a new system and I have to wait even longer for the Pros??? MUAHHAHANo problem.. My dorm will be silenced for a while after I get rid of my old system Then again.. there is always the TV speakers ~~Where there is a will.. there is a way~~

From where are you listening to his bass? Your desk or his? His bass might be amplified at your desk due to a sweet spot. Make sure the setting are the same in software before comparing
  8. I think Klipsch has done a nice job on the amp - taken that it doesn't look like the insides of my brother's Sherwood NewCastle HTS amp with multiple transformers and weight of 70lbs - but I'm sure the Pro's amp is pushin the spec'd 160W to the sub.
  9. Welcome Back!! I hope you had an enjoyable vacation.
  10. It's basically the same thing if I remember correctly. I think it just has a few other things added to it but it has been a long time since I had any - I just use lighterfluid on everything since it is a lot cheaper.
  11. quote: Originally posted by Silver00Spike: umm, i used duct tape for my altec lansing speakers to tape them to my chairfor surround sound(inventive), but when i took off the tape i realised what this dooomass will------the pretty silver tape leaves pretty sticky gray markings on a speaker and it never comes off. Opps 2 lait... Use Lighterfluid to take it off.

    Overclocking Tips

Sounds like a good one. THere is actually a set of 2 fans that attach by the slot screw and blow over the video card and CPU, but am not sure on a price. Sounds better to just build your own like your friend did.

I have a Annihilator2 GTS so I dont have to worry about the GPU HSF
  16. I am also wondering this..

If I dont get the Lasagna2, then BlueOrb it is. RAMSinks are a must when Overclocking - mostly, it is RAM bandwidth that holds it back - esp with GF2
  18. I read that it is spec'd to but I wouldn't push it - I think it is like the max or something (like redlinning a car for long periods - not good) Even 50 is a lot of heat to deal with and the more you have the harder it is to get rid of. The cooler the CPU is the better it will run (and more stable) - If I were you, I'd get a better HSF and get that temp down before doing anything. ALso, make sure you have good airflow thru the case.
  19. Crossover is what divides the signal into lower frequencies that go to the 3" and higher frequencies for the tweeters. Changing these will also change the sound (in theory) of the Pros (hopefully make the Mids better)
  20. The TBird can handle High temps up to 100°C in spec but there are a few better HSF that will keep the temp around 35°C - 40°C http://www4.tomshardware.com/cpu/00q4/001211/index.html Swiftech MC370-0A was the best out of this pick
  21. Of course I failed to mention that.. Opps
  22. Some people live at their computer and would like to have everything right there. Others live at college and if they have a large Monitor, don't have a need for a TV or could watch 2 thing at once (one on TV and one on computer.) Yet others just want to do it to say they have a VCR hooked up to their Computer. mostly depends on personal needs I would only go so far to hook up the audio to my computer speakers (esp when I get a set of Pros) cause I have a TV in my dorm and I don't want to bother with buying another piece of hardware that I don't really need cause I will be spending enough on building a new system. I don't know for sure if the picture would be clearer on a computer monitor vs. a TV
  23. oh.. damn.. I can see how you detest them Hofy.

    Overclocking Tips

http://gamershq.madonion.com/ for 3DMark2000Be careful with those slot fans.. some might be too high-powered and will cause most of the airflow to go there instead of by the processor. I don't know much about the Radeon but with the GF2, most of the problem is with the memory bottleneck, so it is almost useless to OC the core (you can a little but at a certain point, it actually makes the card worse) Sometimes, hanging a fan right in the case (like by the vid card or blowing to the processor) will help a little. check www.overclockers.com for an Idea of what others get when overclocking (some go to extremes to OC) compare the batch numbers on you processors to what they have.
  25. the new 4.1 system (upgraded v.2-400) should have differen't crossovers (probably those in the 2.1 system). Not sure what it will change.
