  1. Those bookshelves look so.... sensual [:|]
  2. By all means, substitute his name for mine regardless if I'm there or not. BTW, thanks for all the info updates Amy! Klipsch really rocks.
  3. Impressive items to say the least! I'm interested in the rear firing ports on the monitors and floorstanders? If I understand correctly, isn't bass response "better" when the port is in the front? I remember reading something like this when the RB-75 was created symbolically replacing the RB5's. As well, isn't their a "fin" that covers up the floorstanders ports? Looking good!
  4. Amy, I'm sure that Klipsch, not one to miss out on a golden marketing opportunity, has video ads that will be presented during the airing of this episode, right?
  5. ^ WOW. Looks like I missed out on a party. []
  6. FYI I am selling a B&K stereo amp in the Garage Sale subforum that would work well with the RF-7's.
  7. Some random dude and their camera phone [] Gotta love modern technology!
  8. Electrons, protons, photons and morons. The latter consistently pops up in Hi-Fi discussions. []
  9. Sans burp. I doubt anyone would pay for it; it will be freely available on major torrent site in a matter of minutes.
  10. Thanks to you mas I vomitted ever so slightly in my mouth just now.
  11. was? [:|] [] I'll be adding two more in the next 3 months hopefully and applying that same trick. You guys are right, the RC-7 out classes the Rb-75's; no contest!
  12. Yes, current HD players regardless of format will play and upscale DVD's, some better than others. When Blu-Ray was being devloped there were great difficulties in getting the tech to cooperate with DVD 9's. I guess some haven't forgotten that outdated bit of information.
  13. Yes, if I cared to drag an additional peripheral with me while on the go. Its a matter of convenience and a legitimate personal preference. Why apple hasn't adopted this approach yet is odd. Sorry, but you missed the point. I'm fully aware of the capabilities of running Vista or XP on an apple machine. The issue raised is in constantly using a library of software that wasn't designed to run natively via macbook. There would be a bit of switching back and forth between the two platforms. When I explained this to the girl at the Apple store she looked at me and asked: "Why don't you just buy a native Vista machine?” From the mouth of babes. O really? (close enough at least) Unfortunately you cannot customize it for an HD optical drive.
  14. What, a whole hundred dollars? Thats atleast the savings I get through my school from Apple. Maybe I ought to attend a more ritzier academic establishment [*-)] I've been looking at the Macbooks a bit myself lately. However I'm annoyed at the fact that apple has yet to introduce a dual button trackpad on its notebooks plus the reality I would have to relearn all the shortcuts that I've mastered over the years in the Windows enviroment. Not to mention the large amount of software I've amassed for XP over the years that I don't really care to repurchase for OS X or run via parallels/bootcamp. If I were to constantly do that it would defeat the purpose of going with OS X. [:^)] For the record though, the new XPS don't seem bad though the metal finish seems to give people a shocking experience as of lately. However for 1500, I'm holding my breath on this sick puppy.
  15. Dual players or Dual Branded players? Since we have had dual players I beleive it would be the branded aspect that has kept more player from market.
  16. I don't believe it was resistance on the part of consumers but rather the consortiums of the rivaling factions. In order to have a co branded player I'm sure massive fees would had to have been laid out at the door steps of the respected parties. I remember reading that according to the terms of the HD-DVD consortium, no HD-DVD player could be co branded with Blu-Ray. For that reason the first dual format players were Blu-Ray branded yet was a fully functional HD-DVD player that simply lacked the official logo.
  17. I cannot imagine why, works perfectly on my end. Would you like for me to post the entire article here? Would be about the same length as one of Mas's posts []
  18. Internet piracy is a major concern to the both the music and movie industry. For years the industry has attempted to fight off what would other wise profit them billions of dollars in revenue. What follows is a very lengthy yet well written article that shines light on an often neglected perspective in the "online war". What goes on here makes the battle between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD look like a fight between incapacitated toddlers. For those wondering why Hollywood is greatly interested in an online distribution model for its products, this article well help clear up much confusion.
  19. I'm so glad we agree with each other []
  20. Not really. Neither article discusses streaming content to AVR's which only became relevant through a forum members posting (read: mas ) . The point is that users have been and can use the Netflix option for downloading these HD flicks, bypassing the DRM set by the company and using them through their internal home networks or burning them at their leisure. No additonal hardware is needed in accessing the media in ones living room or through another device at their pc. Why is this relevant? Considering that you linked to the ever falling prices of the HD-DVD players without commenting on Netflix's current difficulties in shipping out HD discs, consumers are left with either buying the media thus voiding out Netflix's rental value or backing up what the service already distributes to its customers on the fly. Note, even though you rented physical HD media through Netflix, you will still need a device connected to your pc to utilize AnyDVD suite of applications. The other option (regardless of legality) cuts out much of the middle man without much added cost to the consumer.
  21. Considering that you do not need either an HD player or HD discs this option is a plus one as you may use any DVD ripping/encoding software freely availabe to be played back on any hardware you currently have. How is that not a plus for consumer? Were not talking about ripping HD content to your Hard Drive, but rather acquiring and amassing HD content at a moderate price point compared to the other mainstream options.
  22. You guys also miss a BIG point about the netflix deal. Over two months ago (maybe more) crackers already broke the DRM on these files so it is possible to manipulate/burn them at your leisure. Plus one for the consumer.
  23. 1269? Where are you from/shopping at? My local authroized dealers has it for about 800. Without knowing the terms of you and your wifes "condition", your priorities may lie elsewhere. []
