  1. What about the sadistic human garbage that abuses the right and privilege to own a dog? Are the cruelty/neglect laws strict enough? Here is a link to a web site I ran across awhile back. If you're easily disturbed, don't click on it. Mean Streets
  2. " I am, therefore I think" Sigh, if only it was true.
  3. Forte, Chorus, or Cornwall are all good choices depending on room size, musical taste, etc. Check out this recent thread: http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=64613&forumID=68&catID=19&search=1&searchstring=&sessionID={815FB8EA-824F-4D34-91D3-A43269085F5E}

"Go little Honda" by the Hondells. Written by Brian Wilson. ---------------- The Hondells' Greatest Hits cd is on it's way from Amazon. It also includes "You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda." Looks like the Beach Boys did a version of Little Honda too. Thanks Tom and Ben. I'm happy.

That's the song I was trying to remember. I just restored a '72 Honda cb350 and knew there was a related song but completely spaced out the Beach Boys - it's too obvious now. Ben, thanks a bunch!
  6. The Cowboy Junkies "Trinity Session" album had a slow dreamy version of "Blue Moon" with a female vocal. There is the Elvis version as well.
  7. ---------------- On 5/7/2005 3:54:29 PM psg wrote: ..........What were you doing there? ---------------- We were there on a geotechnical engineering project for a Russian-US oil company joint venture to assess permafrost and sea ice impacts for the expansion of the YuzhnoÐKhilchuyu oil field in northern Russia. This area had been severely impacted during Soviet era oil developement. Our work was pretty basic but this would be great area to study the long term environmental impacts of arctic development. Industrial boo-boos are hard to correct at the high latitudes. That CASES research looks interesting. Nice "back yard" there, by the way, JT.

What were you doing there? Here's a shot from a 1996 project I was working on along the Barents Sea coast in Russia - directly across the pole from your shot. It's an offshore shot of a Nenets fishing outpost just before dawn.
  9. More pics - I'm scanning slides like crazy. We snowmobiled into Yellowstone for the Y2K New Years Eve. Here are a couple of shots from January 1, 2000. Dawn eruption of Old Faithful. January 1, 2000. Fifteen degrees below zero (wife claims 50 below zero). Later that day at the Lower Falls in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
  10. "Cool" comes about in the mods. I love what the kiddies are doing with their Hondas. Could these be a modern expression of the classic fifties hot rods or sixties muscle cars? I'm sure songs will written about these, but they'll probably be rap.
  11. "American Pie" - Don Mclean (with a bad variation) .....drove my Honda to the pond(a) but the pond(a) was dry..... ADDED: Sorry.
  12. The only difference between you and a sack of sh!t is the sack.

Going from Devil's Tower, here is Saviour's Tower (right) in Red Square with Lenin's Tomb and Intercession Cathedral (St. Basil's). Sorry about the poor quality scan - I'm still futzing with my slide scanner.
  14. This is a great thread. Let's see some more pictures.
  15. "Hot Rod Lincoln" - Commander Cody ADDED: Don't play anything by Asleep at the Wheel.
  16. "You're a puss filled cyst in the colon of society." "Your entire existence is an experiment in Artificial Stupidity." "Hey, pizza face." (to someone with acne)
  17. I am the biggest shovel, but thinner than a knife. I have a double, but only one wife. Who am I? Answer
  18. Can't remember where this one is from. "Whut iz yeh, ignurint????"
  19. "David Bowie Narrates Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf" - Eugene Ormandy, Philidelphia Orchestra If you have kids or are around kids or want to feel like a kid, get this cd. Peter and the Wolf is probably a forgotten favorite for most of us. This version narrated by David Bowie is a gem. I have the 1978 LP - it's pressed on transparent green vinyl, just like the old kiddie records I remember. Peter and the Wolf
  20. I wanted to learn some good insults and found this thread. It deserves resurrection. Lots of gems here. Lets see some more. Here is an oldie but goodie to rekindle the flames. "In a battle of wits, you're only half armed."

  22. Uh oh spagetti-o, you almost forgot these. Good music to listen to while floating around exactly as a brick does not. Major Tom - Peter Schilling or David Bowie Rocket Man - Elton John Across the Universe - Beatles Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
