  1. I'll buy it when it comes out on Blu-Ray because the PQ and SQ should be excellent. That being said, the first movie was light years better than the second piece of garbage. [+o(]
  2. Only thing you'd have to do is put some kind of material between the TV and 64 so that the TV doesn't scratch the top of the 64. The center won't be able to be angled upward at all with the TV on it but it'll be sitting a lot higher than it is now so I can't see any drawbacks to doing it.
  3. Wow, I never realized how deep the RC-64 is! I knew it was wide, that thing is a monster! One thing I would highly suggest is to set your RC-64 on top the TV stand and then set the TV on top of the RC-64. The 64 will easily handle the weight of your TV and raising is up will do wonders to having the speaker closer to same height as your ears.
  4. The lower your crossover setting, the more bass is directed to your main speakers. I would set it to 60Hz at the lowest.
  5. Anyone on here running rear surrounds in a narrow room? My room is 10 feet wide. Do you feel that it was an upgrade over only having side surrounds? I'm getting a nice bonus from work in August and want to spend a little of my hard-earned cash. I've been very happy with my KG 3.5s as side surrounds and was thinking of something from the KG line as rear surrounds. Another pair of 3.5s would be great. I'd prefer them to be floorstanding versus smaller bookshelves that I'd have to mount on the wall. Any advice would be great! I'm not using a center speaker so that's why I specified 6.1 instead of 7.1. I'm not interested in a center speaker due to the limitations from my TV stand.

    2 subs

It can be difficult to integrate two subs into a room but when dialed in correctly the results are well worth it. I'd go with another Sub-12 and wouldn't recommend pairing a Sub-10 with a Sub-12.
  7. What device are you trying to hook up to your Yamaha? You aren't going to get any sort of improved video by sending it through your Yamaha receiver. Your Samsung TV will upscale all signals coming into it to whatever its native resolution is (more than likely 1080p).
  8. Hmm, I see something incompatible about those two sentences.
  9. I guess I found them but still not sure if they're the correct size. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=095-286
  10. I re-used the stock wire when I changed my crossover networks and I'm thinking of installing different wire. I'd also like to buy new connectors that clip onto the positive and negative connections of the drivers but I don't know if I've ever known what they're called. Also, if different sizes are used do you know what size is OEM with a Forte II? Thanks!
  11. Pair of risers just posted on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/KLIPSCH-HERESY-BASES-H-BR-FRB-PAIR-VERY-NICE_W0QQitemZ320397676398QQcmdZViewItemQQptZSpeakers_Subwoofers?hash=item4a99308f6e&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A10|66%3A2|39%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50
  12. Unless the amp has a switch that lets you switch between bridged, stereo, mono, etc. you can't.
  13. The risers are slanted to direct the sound upward. Since Heresys are somewhat short their sound isn't directed toward your ears as much as if the front of them is tilted upward. If you have something that's 2-3" tall you can stick under the front of each speaker you can see if you like how they sound that way. Heresy risers show up on eBay every once in a while and if you post a 'wanted to buy' ad in the Garage Sale section of the forum you might find a fellow forum member who has a pair they'll sell you. P.S. Glad to hear that you were able to keep your LaScalas and that you still have them! I've owned lots of audio gear through the years from people whose wives were more than happy for me to take their items off their hands.
  14. Awesome concert! Not nearly as long as his 60th birthday concert, but great songs and amazing audio. Its too bad that his voice has lost an octave or two in the upper end, he has to rely on backup singers for the high notes now. I dare you to watch 'Rocket Man' and tell me you're not impressed by the extended ending. Its amazing how he can play the same note for quite a long time and just make it sound beautiful. 5/5 stars. NetFlix info: Elton John's colorful The Red Piano shows at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas have become legendary among his fans since they began in 2004 -- and now you can watch one of these spectacular concerts from your own home. John sings his best-loved songs, including "Bennie and the Jets," "Rocket Man," "Tiny Dancer," "Candle in the Wind," "Philadelphia Freedom," "Daniel," "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting," "I'm Still Standing" and more.
  15. I've always been a fan of this movie. I don't think it was ever a real popular movie and I haven't talked to many people who have watched it. I thought it was well-written and loved the ending. Charlie Sheen really stepped it up for his role in this one. The Blu-Ray transfer has amazing audio. There's several parts that feature dynamic explosions and music that are crystal clear. Picture quality is excellent too, although some of the special effects show their age. 4/5 stars.
  16. That really stinks. I recently watched a Blu-Ray concert of Chicago with E W & F and it was fantastic! Maybe you can pick up a copy and watch it in the comfort of your own home. I saw the Eagles recently and I felt they were playing way too quiet! A couple of the faster, livelier songs had adequate volume but for the most part I was diasppointed, I usually listen at louder volumes at home than they were playing!
  17. Yeah, I know I had the upper hand. But, I had her look back at her first 3 months of dieting and I still had her beat. We also went by total percentage of weight lost during those first 3 months and her next 3 months and any way you calculated it I still won. It was good motivation for the both of us. Last year she said she was going to lose weight as well and I think she ended up losing maybe 10. It definitely helps to have someone else to partner up with when it comes to things like this.
  18. Thanks again for the kind words. This diet and exercise stuff is addicting. When I made my first goal of 178 pounds I then made a new goal of 170 and hope to be there by the end of July. I'm not sure what I'm going to do once I hit that point. I guess I'd be comfortable staying within the 170-175 range. I know winter's going to be hard not being able to run outside as much.
  19. Had me going with it, too. At first I thought something in the speaker came loose in shipping. Yeah, I've got my share of rattles, mainly from my subwoofers. Fortunately my house was built in 1940 so it had plenty of time to settle before I moved in!
  20. Sorry about that. Next time I'll try to not show as much skin. [H]
  21. Yes, I've been running three days a week and doing weights/cardio 3 days a week in between running. Getting some very nice muscle definition in my arms and legs. Now I just need to work on my midsection!
  22. Unfortunately it isn't my tires being melted into submission but I do own a yellow GT convertible with a black top. I found the pic online and thought it would work well as an avatar. [] Here's mine
  23. Today was the final day of the weight loss contest between a co-worker and me. We started the contest April 1st of this year. My beginning weight was 208.5 pounds. I lost about 20 more pounds than she did in that time. In her defense, she started dieting January 1st and I didn't start until our contest started in April 1st. She had already lost about 20 pounds prior to our contest so I had an easier time losing weight right away. She's lost 43 pounds since January 1st. I was a little worried because last week at the cabin I ate Twinkies, hamburgers, brats, fried fish, macaroni and cheese, potato chips, beer, etc. I was on vacation and needed to not have to care about what I ate. I still lost a half pound over the past two weeks. She now owes me an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet at Pizza Ranch, a local pizza chain. I haven't eaten there since the week before I started my diet when I had around 12 pieces of pizza. I don't think I'll be able to pack that many in now and frankly I don't want to. My wife got me a gift certificate for a new suit at a local men's store and if I can keep the weight off through Christmas I'm going to treat myself to a couple more. I wear a suit every day to work so it'll be nice to have clothes that aren't falling off of me. I wish success to everyone out there who is trying to lose weight. Its not easy but it can be done and the results are well worth it!
