  1. I am currently using an Adcom 200 wpc amp for the center to go along with the 1080 for the fronts and Adcom 100wpc for the surrounds. I like the 1080 so much, I was hoping the 1095 would be equal in performance. My goal was to match the amps across the center and front channels. I may just stay with what I have now. Are there any good 200 wpc 5 channel amps that sound great with the Legend series? I have KLF 30's and a KLF C-7 along with Forte II's for surrounds. I've been looking for another pair of KLF 30's or 20's to use as surrounds.
  2. Thanks everyone for the your thoughts on the 1095. Carl, the 1075 might be an option. I could use the other two channels to power by outdoor speakers. With the 1075, would the mismatch in wpc between the center (120)and front channels (200) make a difference? I am currently using an Adcom amp with 200wpc to the center and 100 wpc to the surrounds. When I first hooked up the 1080, I had a ground loop that I was able to correct. I appreciate you letting me know about the potential problem with the 1095. I really wish Rotel made a 1080X3. Are there any good 5 channel amps you would recommended over the 1095 to use with my Legends? I would love to make your gathering this weekend. I'm sure you will have a great time. I'm glad you didn't lose any equipment during the power surge. Gary
  3. I have been very pleased with the Rotel 1080 amp that I bought from fellow member Carl in St. Louis, and was thinking of going to the 5 channel Rotel 1095. Will I notice any difference in performance? I'm using KLF 30's and a C7 along with Forte II's as surrounds. The damping factor on the 1080 is 1,000 while it's only 400 on the 1095. Does this make a difference. I would appreciate any comments and/or recommendations.
  4. Billy, I'm sorry I missed out on hearing the legends. I had to work last weekend. If you ever decide on selling the 20's or 30's, please let me know. Enjoy Charleston. Gary
  5. I still haven't received your PMessage. I don't think it's working. My email address is gbrlex@sc.rr.com.
  6. I wish you were to closer to South Carolina. How do you like the C7's as surrounds? I'm currently using Forte II's with KLF 30's as my mains.
  7. I didn't receive it. Please email me at grawson@wistv.com
  8. I'm really interested in the 30's. Give me a call at 803-758-1286 or 803 - 608-5031to discuss or send me your telephone number and I'll call you. Thanks, Gary
  9. Billy, I'm glad you found a great place in Charleston. I'm really sorry you won't be selling some of the legends. Please let me know if you ever hear of any for sale. Good luck on your new job. By the way, I have one of the first Marantz 2270 receivers ever made and was wondering if it was worth anything? Gary
  10. I noticed a major difference in clarity, imaging & bass response. They didn't sound like the same speakers. I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but the damping factor on the 1080 is 1,000. The more you crank it the better it sounds.
  11. I have used various Adcom amps with my Forte II's & Klf-30's for years. I had been extremely pleased until I decided to replace the Adcom 5500 (200wpc) with a Rotel 1080 (200wpc) based upon comments I read on this forum. I could not believe the difference. The Rotel 1080 was a signifcant improvement over the Adcom. I wish Rotel would come out with a 3 channel version of the 1080. I'm still using Adcom for the center and rear surrounds. I can't comment on the Denon since I have never owned one. You might want to check out the Rotel 1095 (5 X 200wpc). They can be bought used on Audiogon for around $1,200. Good Luck.
  12. Billy, Let me know when you get back in town and I'll take a look at the boat. I went to the Crest website and the boat looks good. Are the lounge seats big enough to stretch out in? They looked a little small on the website. Also, I'm looking forward to hearing the legends. Gary
  13. wstrickland1: It probably would be better to just call me at 957-4956 to set up a time to check out the legend system. I'll bring my SUV just in case you get the urge. The pontoon might be a possibility. Gary
  14. I'll look forward to hearing from you. Email me at grawson@wistv.com and I'll send you my phone numbers. About the pontoon. I am actually looking to buy a new one. I have a 1996 26' Tri-toon w/trailer and would like to get something a little smaller. Is the Honda 115 a 4 stroke? I would love to have a center console, but my wife insists on a pontoon. With all the stereo gear I buy, I let her win on this issue.
  15. Good luck on selling your house. I've lived in Irmo and it's nice, but I'll stay on the lake. I would love to hear your Legend system. I can be available at your convenince. Just let me know when you have the time.
  16. Thanks for the advice. I'll try putting them next to each other this weekend. I'm sure I'll hear a difference since I'm using a Rotel 1080 on the KLF-30's and Adcom 5500 on the Forte II's. When I went from the Adcom to the Rotel on the 30's there was a huge difference in the sound quality. I haven't had much luck finding another pair of 30's or 20's anywhere near me here is SC.
  17. About 50/50. However, I am more concerned about concert DVD's in DTS and music.
  18. I'm currently using Forte II's as surrounds with my KLF 30's. Would I notice a major improvement going to another KLF 30 or 20 as surrounds? I did notice a major difference when I replaced my KV-4 with a KLF C7 as my center channel. I would appreciate any recommendations/opinions.
  19. I would not settle for anything less than the insured amount. It's too bad you don't have a pair of black or maghony klf 20's. I would trade you a mint pair of walnut Forte II's for them. Good luck.
  20. Billy, You will enjoy Charleston. If you decide to sell the KLF-20's, I would be interested in getting them since I'm right here in Lexington. I might also be interested in the KLF-30's. I'm really looking for some legends to use my for surrounds. I can be contacted at 758-1286. Thanks, Gary
  21. You may not want to get rid of them once you try them out. I already have a pair of 30's and am looking for KLF-20's or 30's for surrounds. The oak simply won't work for me. I wish they were black or a darker color.
  22. Did the owner have the orginal boxes? If so, I will be interested in the 30's. Damage during shipping seems to be a big problem, so that would be my biggest concern.
  23. I'm looking to add a pair of black or mahogany KLF-20's or KLF-30's to my system as surrounds. Let me know if anyone has a pair for sale that is reasonably close to SC.
  24. I'm looking to add a pair of black or mahogany KLF-20's or KLF-30's to my system as surrounds. Let me know if anyone has a pair that is reasonably close to SC.
  25. If you decide to get rid of the KLF-20's, I would be interested. I'm looking for a pair to use as surrounds with my KLF-30's.
