  1. I haven't been posting very much lately. I have been rather busy dealing with "family" issues. Three grown daughters, four granchildren and all the "goodies" that go along with them. Additionally, we are planning a triple wedding in December. My oldest daughter and her fiance, as well my niece and her fiance will be getting married. Dtel and I will be renewing our wedding vows. The girls (and fiances) asked us to do the whole wedding thing with them...wedding dress, tux, cake and all the trimmings for all three of us. A full blown triple wedding. I still have quite a few things I have to take care of for the ceremony and reception. I will be posting more on this event after I finalize one or two more details. Anyway...we are leaving Thursday morning for our return trip to Hope. I spoke with Ms. Donna at the Hope plant. She confirmed the Cornwall III's can be picked up on Friday. Dtel is so excited, you "couldn't slap the smile off his face". He has such a change of attitude from our first trip to Hope (the Pilgrimage). He was a nervous wreck all the way to Hope the first time. I think he was having one continuous anxiety attack during the 7 1/2 hour trip for the Pilgrimage. Once we met a few of the forum regulars he gained a little composure. His anxiety must have been evident, because I recall IndyKlipschFan telling dtel, "Man just chill out, take a deep breath, it will be okay." I wonder if Indy remembers that? This time around he just keeps laughing and smiling and asking me if I am excited. Hell yes I am excited. Do you guys have any idea how many times he has mentioned these speakers since the moment Trey's daughter pulled his name out of that hat? That was a stupid question, of course you guys know the answer to that question. At least once daily!!! We will be picking the speakers up Friday before lunch and heading back home. You should hear from one of us Friday evening. We will be taking plenty of pictures and a good road trip story for all of you. One of Klipsch's youngest fans, 6 years old, our grandson will be making the trip with us.
  2. This quote is taken directly from the mail Ms. Donna sent. " Weve been following your speakers faithfully and right now it looks like some time next week. " I received this email yesterday. Picky I couldn't agree more, Klipsch is the most generous company I have ever done business with. It is the employees of Klipsch that make this company so great. We will be driving to Hope to retrieve the new "family members". We may have to delay the trip a few days depending on our business. It is difficult to landscape in the rain and we were bombarded with much needed rain for almost a week straight. Most of our current pending landscape contracts involve installation of irrigation systems. Under state law we can not trench lines for the pipes without having the utilities "marked". This "marking" required a forty eight hour notice prior to Katrina. Last month, the Louisiana State Legislature passed a new law requiring ninety six hours notice prior to trenching and that doesn't include rain days. So, in short if we trench before the "lines are marked" we are subject to a $25,000.00 fine plus repair of the broken utility. Not to mention the possibility of electrocution or gas explosions!!! Anyway, we have to "catch up" a little bit before we leave to pick the new "babies" up. Hopefully the trip will only be delayed a couple of days. Picky I wish we could be there with you and your wife and the other forum members. I am sure it will be an event to remember. Please get lots of film for us. I want to personally thank you for the time and effort you expended documenting our "adventures" in Hope. I can't wait to see the final results of your work. Your wife was so gracious to allow you to do this for all of us, please tell her how much we appreciate it. Also, tell her "that is some good sh**". The K-horns that is. You and your wife, as well as some of the "seasoned Pilgrims" made Hope such a memorable and enjoyable trip. I will say it again, winning the speakers was great, but the fun and fellowship with all of you was the most special part of the trip. It goes without saying Hope couldn't have been as special as it was without Klipsch and the employees of Klipsch. Many heartfelt thanks to all of you. Don't worry we will have lots of photos of our trip back to Hope.
  3. Dtel will be surprised when he reads this. [:-*] I haven't told him the news yet. An update on those Cornwall III's we won at the Pilgramage in Hope... Ms. Donna at the Hope facility just confirmed the new Cornwall's should be ready some time next week. I will have a definitive time on Monday. The good things in life are worth waiting for....[ip]
  4. Dtel and I used a product similiar to this in our workshop addition. The installation for the product we used was very simple, we did it ourselves. There is a company here in Picayune, MS that worked with NASA to develop some of these types of insulation. You can go to www.reflectech.com and get additional info on these types of products. Their phone numbers are also available at the web site. The prices may even be shown on the web site.
  5. "My email is still (rtaylor25@cinci.rr.com) and I have not received any emails from you for a year or so. " I too feel this is a sad turn of events.[] However, I did take a look back at Dylan1's posts. It appears based on his posts that he did not disappear from this forum. He has continuously posted since the "faceplate" was sent to him. On the other hand, rtaylor disappeared from this forum between 4/2005 and 1/2006. Rtaylor states that his computer "crashed and burned" and that he was not able to post. He was however able to "check his email," and is convinced that dylan1 did not attempt to notify him of the faceplate's demise. I do understand this was a "faceplate" to a valuable piece of equipment. I also understand that on 7/3/2006 when rtaylor posted of his return to the forum and his desire to "catch up" with dylan1, a response was given immediately by dylan1. It is regrettable that something like this has happened, however I trust this matter will be resolved amicably and one of the parties will be kind enough to update us.
  6. I think the factory noise might have muffled what they were actually saying. I walked up real close to em and they whispered (j.4knee take us home) tried to get the wife to listen to it but alas she moved away too qucikly.[] You know something? They were calling my name also. Right up to the minute they pulled dtel's name out of the hat for the Cornwall III's. I mean, after twenty eight years of marriage, the Cornwall III's are 50% mine. I think, I'll take the "right" one.[] I have to tell you guys I think about how pretty those LaScala's were and how good they sounded in that listening room very often. Those speakers were awesome.
  7. Once again, I stand corrected. You are right Mr._Fini.[{][}] It should say "dear in the headlights".
  8. IMO, this is one of the best group of people you will find. Our administrator, Amy, can be "heavy-handed" if it is required. IMO, her "heavy handedness" is only exercised when someone clearly crosses "the lines". I became a member of the forum after many discussions with my husband regarding posts of other members. I am sure you can tell most people here are very friendly. Speaking for myself, it is sometimes difficult to tell if a post is actually "mean" or just joking. Most often it is in "jest". I was so impressed when I met most of these folks at the Pilgramage in Hope last month. I always knew the people on this forum were "for real", but I didn't realize how "for real" they were. I don't know if this makes sense to you or not. Most forums don't have a way for the members to actually have "get togethers". Klipsch has made it a priority to allow us every opportunity to get to know each other. We share births, deaths, sickness, graduation, grandchildren and other topics, which gives us a sense of family. I was talking to another member at the Pilgramage and he was relating a story about his best friend's death and a post by another member when his wife died. The member told me, "I was so pained by _____'s loss because I had just experienced the death of my best friend". Most of us have never met, although we share a common bond. Music, movies, etc. and everything Klipsch. We arrived in Hope on Wednesday, there were about eight of us in town that first day. We all met for dinner. I couldn't believe the "mix" of people sitting at the table. We had financial consultants, landscapers, students and other professions all at one table. We talked "electronics", but we also spoke of things personal to each of us. Coytee's home in TN, landscaping, rocks, school, kids, etc. Heck, I now know why Coytee sleeps with his ink pen.[] I went to Hope knowing this was a nice group of people, I left Hope with sadness knowing it would be a while before we saw all of our new found friends again. Your room is going to be awesome. The Belle's are beautiful and I sure hope your wife is proud of them. If she understood "the heritage" of your speakers she would be a fanatic like the rest of us. Best of luck. P.S. Do you know that all hard rock cafe's have Klipsch speakers? I didn't until about two months ago.
  9. All of the speakers were auditioned in the same room, i.e. the khorns were in the front corners of the room, the LaScalas were placed out from the front wall, the Cornwalls were out a little from the LaScalas, and the Heresey's were just in front and to the right of the rest. The speakers were all played through the same equipment, in the same room. The Cornwall III's in my opinion just sounded better than the khorns and I do not think I am alone in that opinion. The sales had tripled prior to our Pilgramage to Hope. Mark Kaufmann with Klipsch stated, "Our actual sales to date of the Cornwall III's have more than tripled our projected sales." This was stated during our "listening room" auditions. I am not familiar with past sales for Cornwalls so I can not comment on that point.
  10. Congratulations Max! I always knew you were "da man".[]
  11. Mark, Thank you for your input here. It is nice to hear from someone in another country how well Klipsch is doing and the efforts they are putting forth. We would love to see more of the Heritage line advertised in the United States, but we are glad to hear Klipsch is actively marketing in your part of the world. Thanks again for your input on the forum.
  12. Heideana, Dtel and I purchased a pair of Forte II's from a gentlemen in Florida about six months ago. When we arrived to pick the Forte's up we asked if he would audition the Forte II's for us, even though we already had a pair at home. Then we asked if he would audition his Cornwall II's for us. He agreed to our request. In all fairness to this evaluation I must tell you that he had the Cornwall's on the floor under a built in "entertainment center". The Cornwalls were enclosed by cabinet doors, which were covered with cloth! He also played the Corwalls at a very low level. That being said, the highs, mids and lows all sounded "muffled", what a surprise! However, after getting on my knees and giving the speakers a good listen, the bass sounded "hollow" and the mids and highs seemed to "run together". Of course, the placement of the speakers did have a huge impact on the sound. This is just my opinion. That being said, we were not impressed. Jump forward to the Pilgramage in Hope. Dtel and I have been extremely satisfied with our Forte collection. However, we also had been "shopping" for a pair of Klipschorns, even though we had never heard a pair! (Before I go any further, we would still like to own a pair of Klipschorns). We had the priviledge of auditioning the new Heresy, a pair of Klipschorns, and a new pair of Cornwall III's, one right after the other. We did not listen to the same recording on each pair of speakers, which IMO could have some influence on this review. The Heresy's were the biggest surprise. The sound from a "relatively" small pair of speakers was beautiful. The sound doesn't fill a room like the larger Heritage speakers, but the Heresy's are a "work of art" for your ears. We will purchase a pair of Heresy's for dtel's workshop in the future. The Klipschorns were of course, clear and concise. I was not as impressed with the Khorns as I thought I would be. Again, I think the recording played a huge impact on this opinion. My anticipation of the "blessed" listening event could have influenced my opinions on the Khorns as well. The Cornwall III's had a tight bass, and the highs and mids were undeniably clear and distinct. Dtel and I did not have a chance to discuss our observations prior to the Saturday night together at the farm house. As you may have heard dtel won a pair of Cornwall III's on Saturday night. During our recovery from the shock of winning such a wonderful prize we have discussed our audition of the Cornwall III's and Khorns many times. The end result of that audition is always the same. Yes, we do want to own a pair of Klipschorns. However, in our opinion the Cornwall III's outperformed the Khorns in the audition. Now, before any of you jump up and down and start thinking I am being a total idiot...We are not sure that we actually had a "fair" audition of the Khorns and we were genuinely impressed the clarity of the Khorns. Conclusion, if we were in the market for a quality pair of new speakers for our overall listening enjoyment (jazz, rock, oldies, etc) we would have to purchase the Cornwall III's. Something else I would like to mention, we also heard the new LaScalas and they were truly awesome. The one thing these speakers had in common was the ability to "disappear". All of the above mentioned speakers are large by today's standards. However, they did not appear to intrude on the space we were occupying. All of the speakers were beautifully designed. They looked more like fine furniture than speakers. The Khorns melted away into the corners, the LaScalas looked more like end tables than speakers and the Cornwalls at only 15 inches deep did not stand out in the room. The Heresy's actually looked like they had been designed for small rooms. I was impressed just as much by the "disappearing act" as I was by the way the clear sound filled the room. I think your money was well spent and you will enjoy your Cornwall III's for years to come.
  13. Michael, We set one Forte I on the left channel and the Forte II on the right channel, which may not be a fair way to evaluate the sound. That being said, there was not a significant difference between the two. We did not listen for a long time because we were anxious to get the six channel set up, with the three Forte II's across the front, two Forte II's left and right rear and a Forte I rear center. Having had only Forte II's for a while we can tell you we are extremely please with the sound. Since the Forte I's and Forte II's are very close in price we would recommend going with the one that "appears" to be the better buy. Forte II's.
  14. I think the room is too small for those, but they are cool looking.[H]
  15. We were told orders for the Cornwall III's exceeded anticipated sales X 3. We did see a "boxing area" in the factory during the Pilgramage to Hope. The only speakers I recall seeing boxed were the anniversary K-horns. However, it is possible the factory was "cleaned up" before we toured.
  16. Picture of Crystal Springs from Lookout Mountain West above the city. About 1 1/2 hours from Hope.
  17. This is one of my favorite pictures. The guys "talking shop".
  18. Here are the LaScala's that I could hear calling "Colter, Colter, I'm yours".
  19. Looks like a deer in headlights.[] Fini posed for this one.
  20. This is really not a good photograph, but it is the only one I took of the rainbow that appeared over the tent. I wonder if it is the same one Michael photographed at the wedding?
  21. I have been trying to encourage everyone to come to New Orleans for an informal gathering. Maybe that's the key. It worked for you. Dtel and I have really enjoyed going to the French Quarter the last few months. "Old enough to know better and young enough to still have a good time." [] You guys need to take a look a dtel's new signature line.[]
  22. Double post again![:@] We will post a few more pics later.
  23. Where is that BS Button they gave me yesterday? I really need it right now.[]
