  1. Micheal, Just looked, it appears that there are still lawn tickets available, thats what we have. Amy, That really stinks to hear that the venue may not be with us much longer. We saw Phish there on the final tour in 2004. I'm kind of glad that this opportunity has presented itself. I think this is one of my favorite venues, Alpine was nice but too steep in the lawn. By the way what was your favorite show at Deer Creek. Sam
  2. Got excited a while back that Eric Clapton was coming to a venue close to Cleveland, where I originally heard Klipsch speakers. The weekend the tickets went on sale I was preoccupied with chores around the house and it totally slipped my mind. Later that next week got to looking through my ticketmaster heads-up email. Tried to snag a few tickets then, but unfortunately I was too late. Just thought I would see where else he was playing, Deer Creek was listed. Called my cousin, who I had seen Phish with at Deer Creek, to see if was interested in going. His reply was heck yes, he elaborated that he never thought that he would make it back to Deer Creek. He thought Clapton would be a good enough excuse to make the five hour trek and so now we had a game plan. What I curious to know is there anyone from around that area that might be going. We are anticipating leaving early that Friday morning, going over to Close By Campground and setting up camp. Possibly enjoying a few beverages, and taking in a heck of a show. I would like to get together and meet some of the forum members if at all possible. Depending on what time we hit the road may even stop at the headquarters of this loudspeaker company, maybe you've heard of them "Klipsch." Wouldn't want to miss a great photo opportunity
  3. Very nice looking equipment, I only wish that my budget had an earmark for this quality equipment.
  4. I think the Eminence Kappa 15c is a 4ohm 15" woofer......
  5. Beatles - Sun King (Love the crickets in the intro), Phil Collins - In the Air Tonight, Miles Davis - Blue In Green, Big Head Todd and the Monsters - Its Alright, Lynyrd Skynyrd - Am I Losin, Pink Floyd - Coming Back To Life, Norah Jones - One Flight Down, Edgar Winters - FRANKENSTEIN. These are just the ones that come to mind, off the top of my head.
  6. Took the six screws off of the back and it didn't seem to want to come off that easily, so I refrained from prying. Do the three screws that go through what I think is the phase plug, go in to the rear cover as well??? Can I buy an eight ohm diaphragm and place on the motor of the k-1132-16, or buy a sixteen ohm diaphragm and place on the k-1132-8 motor? Basically are they interchangable??????
  7. The top horn is the one attached to the mystery driver. That is about as pouty as I get....lol Can I change the diaphragm on one of the drivers to make a set? Thanks for any help you can supply.. Sam Sorry I didn't think this made it through, It said I made a Duplicate post [:S]
  8. The horn on top is the 16 ohm mystery driver. Could I possibly change the diaphragm and make a matching set??????? Thanks in advance for any help that you can supply.. Sam
  9. Roy, Good to see you are alive and kicking. Thanks for the reply on my post, its always good to get the skinny from someone in the inner circle. What do you think about the idea of a jube bin with the k-1132 topped with the k-63 driver for a tweeter?????? If you can't elaborate I understand, seems like awesome combo to me if the sensitivity combo match up to obtain a decent overall output. That I do not know... Anyhow here is a shot of the two different horns. This is the best pouty face I could make []
  10. That wouldn't be the individual you help facilitate the pick-up and delivery of the MCMs?
  11. Thanks guys for the input, speakerfritz are you sure you don't work for klipsch. Seems like you're in the know. First of all, can I change the diaphragm on the K-1133 to one from a k-1132. Externally the motor looks the same. In the ideal situation that this would work, I would have a pair of matched drivers. Sensitivity is another issue I'm uncertain of, would like to know the spl of the drivers to give me an idea of how to attentuate them. I think I have the tweeter issue covered for the time being, I have a set of k-63-kn out of a set of cf-4(s) that I was considering for the tweeter part. But unfortunately I don't know the sensitivity of those either. Last but not least I need to find a line on some k-31(s) four to be precise. I'd hate to have to sacrifice a set of klf-30(s). Couldn't bring myself to do it anyhow. Had thought of trying the woofers from my kg-5.5(s) with an adaptor so when the 31(s) came along I could throw them in and rework the crossovers. Any ideas on whether or not this would be a total disaster, please feel free to let me know. Thanks again guys
  12. Had a question a while ago, that never really got answered, so I thought after a recent purchase would throw it out there again. After waiting for almost a year I have found a driver labeled k-1132 and was wondering if the other driver I had was a comparable mate. The first driver I had was rated at 16 ohms, not sure what the k-1132 is, since it isn't labeled and I don't have a meter handy. My first question will be: What is the impedance of a k-1132? Secondly, can anyone tell me about this driver here?
  13. Really nice speakers you picked up there. Congrats. I love the Cornwalls, my cousin just right outside of Cleveland has a pair. He drives them with a 250w/ch Crown and is not afraid of turning them up. Its kind of like being front row at every concert. []
  14. "I don't think the following is entirely fair: Cask05: Anyone that says that they need a subwoofer with these probably has some tendency toward bass addiction— a common malady in this market—or they are watching war and action movies with lots of percussive audio effects. If a speaker covers the bandwidth required by the source material, then I agree that there is absolutely no reason to extend the bandwidth of the system. However, there is plenty of great source material that warrants itself to dedicated 2-channel listening that requires a bandwidth wider than what the Jubilee will provide. " I agree with these two comments. I enjoy listening to two channel stereo. Currently in my attic I have the Homemade La Belles on the inside and Kg-5.5s on the outside. With this combination there is more than enough bass to vibrate the loveseat from where I listen. Then while listening to music with my uncle, who used to play bass guitar in a band, he has a 5.1 set up with an 18-inch Cerwin Vega. 99% of the time he has way too much power headed towards the sub. Puts you in the mind of the kids running around town vibrating their license plate and body panels off of their cars. Have never heard the Jubes yet but am contemplating trying to make it to the pilgramage this year. By the way Clapton is playing Deer Creek, May 30th.
  15. I have a pair of k-63-kn mid tweeters that I want to utilize in a new speaker project. I would like to see if someone may have a crossover diagram? Also was curious of the sensitivity of the driver and crossover frequency? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sam

  17. If the government is paying for the shipping, maybe they could make a stop in the norther pan-handle of West Virginia. Possibly for some quality control???? On a more serious note, Congradulations
  18. This is funny to see these speakers for the third time. I almost bought these when they showed up on ebay about a year and a half ago while they resided in a storage unit in Columbus. Then again when they were in Summersville, WV. By the way did you sell these???? It appears that no one has done any cosmetic surgery to these in the last couple of years. I was willing to go $850 back when they first appeared on ebay. If I remember correctly they went for $1350, the first time then $1500 the second time on the bay. They were in pretty rough shape, and had the K-33-P in the bass bin. Figured they needed alot of work and appears that they still do.
  19. My uncle came across a set of Heath Kit as-173(s) a few years ago. He had these drivers setting on a shelf in his garage for about a year. One afternoon, we were sitting around trying to figure out what type of cabinet we could build for these. After scavenging around for about ten minutes, I came across a few 14" tires and a 1/2" piece of plywood. After some measuring and head scratching I talked him into letting put them into the tires. In about an hour, a couple of dozen screws, and a tube of silicone we had them up and running. Although not so much in the WAF department, these things sounded amazing. His neighbor, who happens to be a lawyer, that doesn't give out compliments too often was on his way down to the garage one evening. About a third of the way down the hill, he sits down and absorbs some of the sound originating from the garage. Upon his arrival he makes a comment saying that it sounds like the local ampitheater. So the crew that had gathered in the garage that night for conversation, music and a cold one or two proceeded outside. He was right the sound was something that you wouldn't expect from parts that come from a DIY catalog from the mid 60s. The life of those were short lived though. Another one of my uncle's friends was up during a bon-fire, which are behind the garage, decided he wanted to obtain the same decibel levels back there as in the garage. Only problem was the sound had to make its way through a 2' x 2' window with the speakers pointing the other way. Big mistake, the voice coil on the woofers got fried. Since then I have obtained a set of these as well as a set of as-183(s) and have mine in a Voight tube. They are currently paired up with my Admiral tube set up from a console stereo of the same era and for the money I have in them I couldn't be more pleased. Anyhow here is a picture of the first run with the Heath Kits.
  20. That looks like something I would do. Congradulations on your set of La Scalas, Enjoy !!!
