Paul, you are so right! Already have his ct125 tweeters and ALK crossovers installed. Have to say I think my Belles are the best around.

As you can all see from my forum history, I don't write new posts very often but I felt like I needed to tell you about Bob Crites die cast woofers upgrades for the k33e woofers. I just replaced the stock woofers in my 10 year old Belles with his die cast woofer replacements and after my first listening session I felt like I had purchased a brand new pair of loudspeakers! The bass was deeper, tighter and more powerful then the originals. It was not a day and night difference, but it was definitly worth the effort and the slight difference in price over the steel basket version. Also, after receiving the woofers I had a couple of questions for Bob and he answered all of them very quickly and proffesionally. On a personnal note to Bob, Thankyou for the fine products and service you have provided it was a great experience working with you again!

How about your thoughts for both?

Just wanted to get some of your opinions on whether or not there is any inherent benefit in using phenolic or titanium diaphrams. Is one "better" then the other? I have heard both types and sure can't tell one from the other just by listening. Any thoughts?

Just wanted to share this with everybody. I purchased a set of horn to driver gaskets from Bob Crites for $6.00. I didn't know if mine were bad or not but figured it couldn't hurt. When I went to install them, about a 5 minute job, I was surprised to find that there were no gaskets installed in the first place. Maybe Klipsch forgot to install them in my Belles during assembly. Who knows? Anyway after installing them I went to listen to them honestly not expecting to hear a difference, but WOW! An immediatly noticable improvment in the clarity of the midrange, especially on vocals. I really can't believe the overall improvment. It is depressing to think about what I have been missing this whole time. I, like many of you I'm sure, have spent hundreds of dollars on upgrades. Some worked--some did not. But I have never spent so little to gain so much! I encourage you to check to make sure that there are good gaskets between your horns and drivers and if not spend $6.00 to replace them. I promise you will not be disappointed. Thanks Bob!

The way I understand it the k77m was in fact made by Electro-voice. The new k77f is made in the Philippines but I have no idea who the manufacturer is.

Thanks Bob. Do you know how it compares to the EV version? Not that I am considering getting them as I have your CT-125's which I am sure blow them away as they do the k-77-m's. It just seems to me that sometimes Klipsch will update a speaker with lower quality components that what they replaced. Anyone else agree with that ? .

Just out of curiosity what is different about the k-77-f tweeters now being installed in the k-horns versus the k-77-m's they used to use? Are the k-77-f's made by E-V? I have not heard anyone talk about upgrading to the k-77-f's so I assume that would not be an improvment. Any info would be appreciated.

Al, I guess I need to send my networks back to you to have the caps reversed. Would that be covered under warranty? Will I need to reverse the wires going to the individual drivers when I reinstall them? I guess I should also rotate my speakers so the wear evenly!

IndyKlipschFan Wow! That is quite a system you have. I am surprised I have not heard you playing it as I only live about 50 mile north of you in Kokomo. Let me know next time you fire it up and I will go outside to see if I can hear it! Enjoy! RAD

Al, Please help me save $575! As you may remember I already have you universal networks installed in my Belles. Without a doubt they were the single biggest improvement I could have made in my system. Last month I installed BEC tweeters which also improved the sound. I thought I was there--the best sound I could get out of the Belles now I see this. At the risk of costing yourself a sale please tell me that the improvement to your new networks is not great enough to justify me replacing the ones I have now, even if it is not true. I guess sometimes you just need a little reassurance! Thanks for your support!

Blazemaster, I think you will find if you stay away from the really cheap generic cables there will not be a noticable difference in the other cables. I would recommend the entry level cable of any good manufacturer like Monster Cable. Spending more for the "better" cables is probably not worth it in my opinion, for what ever that is worth!

I could be wrong but I don't think the SW15 actually has an auto turn on and off. The amp stays powered on all the time but it just sits and idles when there is no input signal. I'm pretty sure that is correct but if somebody know for sure please let me know!

Carl, ALK offers a custom built tweeter attenuator that would lower the level of the tweeter. Based on the quality of his cross-overs I am sure this would be an ideal way to control the output level of the tweeters. If you do not know it already check out his site at www.alkeng.com.

Carl, How did you get silver horns on your CT125's? Did they come that way or did you paint them? They look great like that!

Bob, Do you know if Eminence sells the k33e woofer under their own name in their own product line or is it specially built for Klipsch to Klipsch's specs?

Just a thought if anyone else has trouble installing the CT125 tweeters. I installed mine in a pair of Belles and they fit without modification but the top of the magnet was barely touching the inside of the cabinet and I was concerned that they might "buzz" against the cabinet. I did not want to shave any wood off so I put one small washer between the top mounting screws and the front of the tweeter horn which ever so slightly tilted it back and down away from the cabinet and thereby eliminated any chance of contact with the magnet. This works great and requires no modification to the cabinet or the tweeters. I hope this idea helps.

Does Electro-voice make the K-55-x driver also? What is the difference between it and th k-55-m? I have already been told not to put in the k-55-x as that is going backwards but I am still curious what the difference is.

Daddy Dee Don't know about the k-55-v, but the k-55-m's in my Belles do have solder connections. Hope this helps.

I recently completed upgrading my 9 year old Belles with Bob Crites tweeters with very positive results. I am now considering changing out the original k-55-m mid-range drivers with the new k-55-x drivers. Has anyone done this or does anyone know the difference between the two. I have ALK networks in them also. Any input on this would be appreciated.

Rudy81, The improvement I heard with the CT125's wasn't as great as when I installed the ALK networks, but I think the improvement in high end extension is very noticable on certain types of music and defintly worth the relativley small price. It seems like sometimes you make a change and think it sounds better when really it just sound different, but in this case I really believe there is an overall improvement in the sound. I hope this help you decide on trying these tweeters.

Have to agree with you on this. I just installed my CT125's yesterday and they seem to just sound smoother and easier to listen to. I installed them in Belles with an ALK crossover and that sure seems to be an ideal combination. With Bob's tweeters and Al's networks I think the Belles are pretty hard to beat!
