  1. One of the flaws is on the grill of the speaker not pictured. It appeared to melt a little bit on a small section on the bottom. My question: How do you get the grill off of these guys?
  2. Hey Chuck, Not sure exactly what I'm going to do at this point! I've always wanted a pair of Cornwalls. These showed up locally, so I decided to buy them and work out the details later. I wouldn't say mint but they are in really nice shape for their age. The tops and sides are near perfect, but a few chips/dings on the front. I bought them from an older gentlemen whose wife made him get rid of them (wives are great in that regard). We spent a couple of hours listening to some great music and you could tell it was just killing him to sell them. That's one thing this hobby has done for me is allowed me to meet some really great people and get a taste of some different music too. I'll be down this weekend for sure. Two of my kids have basketball games on Saturday, so I would either leave Raleigh mid-afternoon Saturday or come on Sunday. Are you gonna be around this weekend? Looking forward to meeting you.
  3. Hey Jacksonbart, You disappointed me. I was fully expecting you to comment on the patch I haven't finished yet in my wall. And yes, good eye.
  4. Thanks Ben. Why the 15 in the model number?
  5. I've been hoping a pair of these would show up locally and it finally happened after 3 years. They look good and sound far better. C-WO-15, 2L947/8 Can one of the experts let me know what vintage these are?
  6. Mike, I was posting this more for the forum than the seller. Sound like a lot of nice Chorus to go around.
  7. I bought a few things from a seller. He has an absolutely flawless pair of oiled oak Chorus that look brand new. He has them listed for $750 but needs to move them. I told him that I thought they were priced a bit high but in the condition they might be worth it to somebody. I said I thought $600 would be a fair price and he looked at me like he would take it. If anyone is interested, I'll put you in touch with the seller. Very nice guy that takes great care of his gear.
  8. Tom, You are an absolute piece of work! You're really starting to grow on me though!
  9. If you like a hop heavy brew, try some Rogue Ales. My favorite beers are Brooklyn Brown, Guinness, and Harpoon IPA.
  10. Local - very nice. I was unsure where you are in Cali. I hope you get them - they look to be in really nice shape. Let us know if you pick them up. Good luck!
  11. Hey Dale, Saw a nice pair of Heresy IIs in the Bay Area on Audiogon. Price looked OK too. http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?spkrfull&1174614859
  12. I didn't see it as "good fun" at all. The topic incites arguments, ridiculous put-downs, and bad feelings all around--much like the people it was referring to. I never allowed Michael Jackson topics either when that fiasco was topical, so I don't see it as a big change in how I run things. If anyone has a complaint about how I am more strict than I have been in the past, please email me or PM me. It is concerning that people may feel that way, and I welcome opinions..but please ask me my reasons for what I do instead of assuming I do things simply because I don't like them. If that were the case, many more threads would strangely disappear, trust me. Point taken Amy. Sorry, I thought it was in good fun. They are both egomaniacs and I actually enjoyed them slamming each other. Your right about 'A League of Their Own.' Great movie and that's where it ended for Rosie.
  13. You locked my thread about Trump vs. Rosie which was a little ridiculous. It was all in good fun, you didn't like it, so it got locked. So no, I don't think he was kidding.
  14. Bought one but my plans for a 2nd HT was quickly shot down. Also found a pair of near-mint vertical cornwalls, so had to make the call. Oak and near perfect. I saw no flaws - seriously looks new. All original packaging and owners manual. Speaker in box and ready to go. SOLD
  15. No way, two hard to find gems found the same weekend in near perfect shape locally. Woo hoo!!!
  16. Gotta agree with this one. Joe kinda flew off the handle a bit, imo. Those are sweet regardless of serial # or perfect match.
  17. I have an Oak Academy that is perfect with Original Box and packaging if anyone is still interested. SOLD
  18. 2 actually!! The first one was an Academy in Oiled Oak in perfect condition with original packaging and documentation. The second was a pair of vertical Cornwalls in excellent shape. The only problem is that since I found these, I need to sell the Academy to fund it. Will post pics soon.
  19. Lots of used heritage in Portland. I hear it's a sweet place to live too.
  20. Sorry Bill. I found one locally and was going to make an offer for it.
  21. Original owner, perfect condition in Oak.
  22. It's actually an ambitious studio effort. They are playing this weekend. I'm thinking about checking it out if I can get a hall pass.
  23. Just curious. What is wrong with improving upon the average drivers and horns used in Klipsch heritage speakers? I think that part of PWK's genious was to take average drivers and make great sounding speakers. Definitely room for improvement in certain areas. I'll take the Klipsch badges off if it makes you feel better. Let me guess, it's all the fault of our decadent society? Sounds like you've started on the tequila....... lol, all in due time mi amigo!
