are you familiar with their entire music library? hard to imagine songs like March of the Black Queen, Flick of the Wrist, Now I’m Here labeled that way.

nah--it’s cool … we like what we like. i think Bruce Springsteen is one of the most overrated musicians and do not own a single piece of his work--same with Fleetwood Mac--can’t stand it and always turn the channel when they come on the radio -- yet both of those are favorites of someone.

I think it is great that not only did they love him because he was their Dad, they seem to really enjoy him as a person. I’m envious of those that got to know their parents as adults. I only know what people have told me. Both my folks died five months apart when i was eight years old -- Going through some belongings, i discovered that my Mom once worked at a record store. I wonder if i could have gotten them to listen to Queen?

we hope you’ll stick around. there are some really cool people here (as you’re finding out). Sometimes it’s harder for me being on the West Coast--most of the forum is a few hours ahead of me and are often crashing for the night when i’m just logging on. But, I manage to get into the conversations somehow.

I like the Beatles … almost the best band to come from England. The best? Your Dad would know exactly what i was going to say next … Queen. Now, they’re my favorite. I’ve met Brian May a few times and he’s a really cool guy. He helped me get a guitar that i was having trouble finding -- now that is my favorite guitar because of the story that it has attached to it. I used to tease your Dad because our music libraries were so similar. (since you mentioned Paul McCartney and Wings) here’s the kind of goofy story that I’d share with your Dad. Years ago, i had an extra ticket to see Queen. I asked my brother in law if he wanted to go. He said yes; but, thought that i said “Wings” so he was excited to be going to see Paul McCartney…not his biggest disappointment of the night either…in that huge arena, we were seated directly in front of his ex-wife.

I took a Friend of mine to see Alice Cooper when she was going through a Religious part of her life. She told me she enjoyed the concert, but was never going to another one again. I later heard she did make some more concerts. So I guess I did not completely spoil them for her. God it is good to have Friends. Whether it is people you grew up with, Or people you met on a Forum on the internet. Friends = Good Many people are shocked to hear that Alice Cooper is a very strong Christian--i’ve heard him say so. He just likes playing a villain in rock-n-roll performances. I haven’t seen him in concert; but, my brother did and said it was one of the loudest concerts that he’s ever been to. friends=good … that’s very true.

Got orders to RD school then decided i didn’t want be a radarman, decided to go the Old Salt route and be a Boatswains Mate. Then ended up married and had kids and found that being a Yeoman keep me ashore.

still part of the outfit…i didn’t spent much time at sea; but, loved it. While avoiding it after i got married.

I like mine outta da fridge. Late night coming in I have had pickle juice drink and a Miracle Whip on white bread sammich no offense my friend; but, the mid-rats on the ship sound better. Are you kidding me? Mid Rats are the best meal going in the chow hall! For you none swabbies: mid rats is short for mid-night rations served with the food left over that day plus breakfast stuff. oh no…i love them. i never had a problem with any of the chow…except maybe that one time after six weeks in the yard and getting underway in 20+ foot seas and for lunch they served Chili and Reuben Sandwiches…I’ve never been seasick; but, many do and the stench filled the passageways.

You aren't kidding buddy. But you can never get a break like that when you really want it. lol you’d be surprised dude. When it happens, treat em like regular people--they’ll appreciate it and the famous folks that I meet have a pretty good BS meter. If you meet her, tell her you’re on your way to buy a Paul Reed Smith guitar -- that’s what she plays.
