  1. I value my life. Pure fear of the boss is what is keeping me. Let Picky know since he is about 5 minutes from you.
  2. That is one thing I can say. Since joining this forum I have meet some awesome people and had the pleasure of shaking hands with a few of them. I even had Picky and his lovely wife Verna at my wedding a few months back. When school is done a trip to the pilgrimmage in Hope is already sewed up with the misses!!!
  3. Yeah, I am sort of bummed mine say Made In China on them. Ill make sure my next pair does not. As it is obvious by that last statement I will be upgrading.
  4. I agree. The same holds true for all of Klipsch's products. You get superior sound and product at a far cheaper price. I dont know of any speakers in the $800. range that can touch my 82s. And, I have auditioned many.
  5. I use this arguement with the wife, I also use the one that some guys spend 30,000 on a classic car, and it doesn''t go far. As far as friends go, everytime I meet someone new I am introduced as the guy with the bad### home stereo system. I have a couple of friends trying to talk me into a 300 dvd release party. I am thinking about it.
  6. Which, if any of the Reference line is still made in Hope?
  7. Don't hesitate...put on your shoes and go buy the 83s. I have auditioned the 83s next to my 82s and there is a world of difference on a yamaha 110wpc receiver. I have also auditioned the 82s next to the f-3s and there is a difference. But, not only are the 83s not in the same class....they are not even in the same school. You will notice lot's of difference. You can find a used two-channel amp for $300 to push the 83s if you are that worried.
  8. I was referring to the new ones. Maybe the 83s are still done in hope, but my 82s say made in China right on them.
  9. If anyone is interested I am about 45 minutes away as are a few other forum members. So, we could probably hold them for you if you are interested.
  10. Whether it was to sell at BB or not, price had a lot to do with it. And, anyone will tell you that Synergy is now made in China, and here's the real kicker...So is the Reference line!![8o|]
  11. Unfortunantly I cannot blame Klipsch. If you want to compete you have to eventually. We The People have allowed this to happen with fair trade and nafta. I will not get into it, but we have allowed it so we are just as much to blame. Klipsch still has hope which is more than I can say for most companies. I am a nationalist and the whole china thing makes me want to cry in my innermost being. Luckily I decided to research Klipsch online and came across this forum and was given the advice to check out the reference line. I made the upgrade for the same price as the f-3 line after some negotiating at the AV store. I told them they can have my money or BB. I went back to BB and let them know and they were willing to knock off almost $500 on the f-3 line, but I wasnt going to pass up an opp. to step into the reference line.
  12. From what I have heard is they were trying to capture a piece of the market they were missing out on. Not many people are willing to spend $6000 to have surround sound. They are rather selective on who is a dealer and not. So, in order for their heritage and reference dealers not to flip out about the fact Best Buy was now selling klipsch...I believe Synergy was the answer. It's still one heck of a good speaker, but it's in the same price line of Bose and some others. Almost all high end receiver manufacturers do the same. They sell a similiar if not identical product to BB and CC with a different model number so AV stores can say there's is a more expensive line. Also you will never see Denons flagship reciever on a shelf at BB. Don't misunderstand me, Reference and Heritage are definitly different than Synergy, but same way of thinking. I am not sure the difference between the F3 and rf-82, I believe its the horn and woofers. This is just what I have heard. I know Klipsch has gained a lot of new dedicated customers from selling the synergy line at BB. I am one of them. Had they not had Klipsch at BB when I went shopping for speakers I might have Bose in my living room![]
  13. I agree with Inventor. Bass is nice, but its nice to see people duck when a sound starts in your rear surround and goes to the front. I forget the movie, but it had my girlfriend(now my wife) heading for the floor because a bird was about to get her![]
  14. Sort of, its sitting at the father-in-laws till my income tax return comes.
  15. Was at the local av store and he has a used svs pb12 in piano gloss black, and is asking 500.00. This store is in Rochester MI.
  16. I just caught this thread and am amazed you made the switch JetJockey. I still have the 82s and have been wanting the 83s but for the last few weeks have been thinking I may go heritage when I upgrade. Id have to go used, but first I have to auditions some. I plan on making the pilgrimage in 08 or 09 and will make a decision after that. Of course, I get impatient and do irrational things so who knows. Let us know what you get and how they compare the the 83s, I will be all ears!!!
  17. Yes, it does...Twice as loud as my wife likes it. Unfortunatly my listening room is also my living room. I tend to like my music real loud, and Klipsch really accomadates that quite nicely.
  18. Now I know from common sense the k-horn does have better sound. But, with the Rf-83 being rated at 250 rms and 1000 peak, and the k-horn at 100rms and 400peak but with more sensitivity which one is actually the bigger badder speaker in the sure volume of sound competion. Which one has more capability to make you go deaf quicker before melting and shredding its cones?
  19. Good deal. What's the misses think of the starwars creature looking sub?
  20. This picture is priceless. I love it! I can almost feel Nevada.
  21. I have been married since January 6th of this year and it has been the best decision I have ever made. She is loving and supporting of all I do. She hasnt quite caught on to my a/v enthusiasm. But, I have caught her with the Dixie Chicks playing far beyond normal listening habits.
  22. My guess is dual players will end up being the norm.
