Originally paid $1600. Asking $800 OBO. Austin, TX. Selling my like new integrated stereo amplifier. With kids, I just don't listen to it nearly enough to justify keeping it. I'm the sole owner, have the original packaging, manual, remote, everything. It's been sitting in my audio rack and hasn't moved other than to take these pics. Will also throw in my Peachtree Bluetooth Music Receiver (see pic), which has never been used other than to verify it still works. Important note: This is an early 125SE model. When you change the volume there is some temporary static that comes thru the speakers. It does not affect the sound at all. Peachtree offered to fix (i.e. placing a capacitor coming out of the volume pot) but since it doesn't affect the sound (and was a cosmetic fix) I didn't want to risk shipping it.

I believe he has some high quality DIY chip amps (http://audiosector.com) i'm not exactly sure what design he's using. as mentioned before, they sounds great and not harsh at all on my rb-75s. thanks for all the comments. jacob

i own a pair of RB-75s and my friend really grew to like their sound. he described them as very detailed and crisp. due to his experiences with my speakers, he recently purchased a pair of rf-7s and i'm afraid he may be having some regrets. he mentioned to me that these sounds a little bright to him and he's not sure if likes them. all the amps, etc are the same as when we were listening to the rb-75s. so my questions is, does it take some time for the rf-7 tweeter to break in and soften up a bit? i feel like it has too considering my rb-75s have the same tweeter. any thoughts/advice would be appreciated. i don't want to lose a recently klipsch convert so quickly. jacob

Dave .... good post. Regarding your quote above I completely agree with that as well. One thing I learned from back in my speech and debate days is that before you get involved in any kind discussion, debate, etc you first need to come to an agreement or at least an understanding of the other's perspective on the definitions of certain key words. After that you need to make it clear what it is you value in respect to the topic of discussion. Then once all that is settled ... you can proceed. Without this people just end up taking past eachother. It's clear we all have different definitions of what is "good", "accurate", etc. as well as what it is we all value. The nice thing is that no one is wrong but it's still fun to talk about anyway, as sometimes people bring up points I never thought to consider. It's all perpective. Jacob

Personally for me, I completely disagree with the second part of this sentance. I'll explain this in a bit but first I need to make one quick comment. Mike, I haven't been part of these forums very long but from reading them I have to say I have quite a bit of respect for you and appreciate your comments. (even when I completely disagree) Since you are a sound engineer I can understand why you have this perpective. I think you unfortunately have a conflict of interest when listening to music because you are a sound engineer. The reason I say this is because when I listen to CDs now I really don't pay attention to my speakers and just listen to the music and enjoy. However, I can probably only do this because people like you know what you're doing when it comes to creating accurate recordings ... so thanks for that. Similiarly, I enjoy the sound of the guitar, but only when it is being played by someone who knows how to use it. Now to the personal story I wanted to tell you guys that I think re-emphasizes the point everyone is making here. I have loved listening to music all my life and before buying my Klipsch speakers 6 months ago all I had was a really crappy HTIB Sony system that I had from college. I used to listen to it all the time and loved it. Then I decided I finally had the disposable income and upgraded to what I have today. One thing led to another and I started down this horrible path of trying to make my system perfect. I think you guys call it "The Madness". I spent hours on this forum reading, hours adjusting the placement of my speakers, using my new spl meter to flatten my room response, etc. Two months into it all I actually regretted ever buying my Klipsch speakers. Instead of listening to the music, I started listening to my speakers. It was horrible. I no longer enjoyed listening to music because I couldn't just sit an listen. I was always thinking about technicalities. I finally just stopped trying to make things perfect ... perfect is a moving target. My system is set up pretty good now and I don't care. Now I just put cds in and smile away. That's it really. The day I have to train myself to enjoy music is a day I don't want to see, but I'm thankful that people like you MIke know what sounds "good" so I don't have to worry about it when enjoying my CDs. As a random side note ... this thread makes me think of that song that goes ..."If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife" ... it causes too much worry. In my case for awhile, my Klipsh speakers were the pretty woman.

I'll be moving to Berkeley, CA in July and will be moving into a very tiny studio. I have a nearly brand new velo sub that I bought about 6 months old from Onecall. I don't really want to sell it but am thinking I probably should. It needs to go to a home where it can be free to run wild. Given that, I thought I'd test the waters and see if any of you would be interested in purchasing it. The price in my head right now is $1400, which I know isn't exactly a steal. (MSRP is $1700) Anyway, let me know if anyone's interested. If you live in Chicago, you're more than welcome to come audition it. Finally, I'm not sure how the warranty is affected here but if it becomes a problem I have no problems (for a fellow forum member) calling Velodyne for you as the original owner in case that something were to happen to this sub down the line. yes ... it was a pretty fun experience. i couldn't believe they fit all that foam in such a small package. i thought for sure they must have messed up my order. jacob

I used them but just put them up with small nails so they have a few tiny little holes in them, which actually closed up. i would ship but the foam is no longer compressed how they arrived so it would make it a little tough, especially the bass traps. they are pretty big. jacob

i've got black rb-75s but have always wanted the cherry ones. are they a-stock speakers with the serial # included? essentially, is he an authorized dealer? jacob

Thanks james. Saturday Audio Exchange is a great place and only about a 5 min. walk from me. I go there often and in fact will be going there in about half an hour. I know they are an authorized klipsch dealer but they usually don't carry much in stock. I'll be sure to ask them today if they ever carry any heritage stuff. Thanks again, Jacob

hi friends, i feel bad posting this but i am just introducing myself to the world of klipsch and so far am amazed. my uncle had cornwalls but i was little and don't remember what they sound like. i'm not sure how to say this but i have heard so many great things about the heritage line that i am dying to hear some. are there any fellow chicagoians out there that would be willing to let me hear what all you forum member are talking about? in return for your generosity i'd be happy to bring you your favorite bottle of wine, scotch, beer(s), etc. whatever you want really. thanks, jacob

you have an awesome system. in my opinion a good subwoofer will make any system shine even more. i say go for it.

i agree with mas. put your ranking up. i'm curious where you would put the velo spl series sub, even if it hurts my feelings. i have the 1500r. i matched it with my rb75s because i thought it was a pretty quick/powerful sub for it's size. i also prefer more musical subs.

i don't know about you guys but i'm excited for arcade fire's new album on march 6th. the album is described as sounding "like standing by the ocean at night". better yet, they use a pipe organ on the cd. jacob
