  1. I came across this auction in my searches it is a very early model H the precursor to the H700 and eventually the Heresy.  It has all three drivers in it.  I am sure it could be cleaned up I have not seen one this old for auction before.  Would make a nice collectors item for sure.  It has the University tweeter in it.  I would jump on it but I am already trying to sell the speakers that I already have.  It would make a nice center channel speaker conversation piece for sure.

  2. I was the first to try Popbumpers Academy network and it literally transformed it.  I had a lengthy post back them that I titled "An Academy Tale" the stock network is an obvious compromise.  The detail and clarity really increased with his network installed keep in mind is did not come cheap but it is worth it.  I know which one I would choose between the stock network and the K-Stack.

  3. Here is the schematic for the Academy crossover network.  You also have to take into consideration that many, many movie soundtracks are just mixed horribly there are some that I struggle to hear the dialogue on and I have a La Scala center with the best components and network.  Updating the network components will make a difference if you use high quality parts not the mediocre crap from JEM or Crites.  Here is a comparison between Popbumpers K-Stack and the stock network for comparison.  Guess which one sounds better.

The AK6  , and AK5 have enclosed backs khorns , that no  longer need proper corners as that allows for toe in  -any khorn can be converted to have enclosed backs -

    - one could always place a non enclosed back  khorn  anywhere in the room using  false corners  -

    - enclosed backs khorns can also be placed  in corners

This is not true regardless of open or closed backs the Klipschorn still needs a solid corner with ~ 4ft on either side of it to perform to listed specifications.  That will never change and is listed right in the documentation.  Don't believe still ask Trey Cannon and he will confirm it for you.

I am not asking if you have any spares of anything.  I am asking what is in the HIPs that you are selling.  Your signature does not list that.  Thank you.

They have the steel stamped frame K-42 woofers, the K-55M midranges with the 8 hole K-700 horn, and the K-77M tweeter and the HIE networks stock.

I would also take some a/d/s L-980, L-880, L400 or L300 series speakers as partial trade.

  6. I am reluctantly offering one pair of my Heresy HIP's for sale.  They are in excellent condition and are from 1985 I am offering them locally since shipping them would be extremely cost prohibitive.  I will have some photos up this evening as I have to size them down for this forum.  I even have the plastic bottom pole mounts for them as well.  They had easy duty as my side surround speakers I moved my Front Effects HIP's into there role and will be using something different for my Front Effects.  Looking to get $750 for the pair as they are not that common especially in good to very good condition and fully functional.  (Photo below for likeness, same style and layout)

  7. This is being offered in my local area if anyone has any interest.  If it does not sell at the asking price they typically give an option to submit an offer if it still doesn't sell by the second day of the sale everything drops to 50% off.

It all looks to be in stellar shape but I think the omnidirectional speakers are not CS-99's.  Very unique vintage set up.

One thing to note though is this receiver uses a very unique and proprietary to Pioneer speaker input plug.  If they do not have them it may be difficult to source a set but a quick scan of eBay shows at least a couple may be available.  Just thought I would pass that on to someone who may not be familiar with the unit.

  8. I have an excellent condition Klipsch KV-3 center channel speaker finished in black satin.  It does have some very light scratches on the bottom from where it rubbed against the TV stand legs and a few other little marks here and there but otherwise very presentable.  It is over 20 years old after all.  All the drivers are original and functioning as they should.  The grill and klipsch emblem are also in great shape.  The adjustment rod on the back is there with the rubber foot still in place.  I have the original carton and user manual for it.  I am missing like one or so of the solid corner foam pieces to keep it in place in the box but I will be adding additional packing to secure it for shipping.  Looking to get $125 plus associated shipping costs for it.  Originally intended to mate with the Epic series of speakers CF-1, CF-2, CF-3 but others have used it in different applications with some level of success.

  9. Don't forget the stage trapezoidal enclosure and pro models like the Heresy Industrial (HI), (HI-SM), Heresy Industrial Ported (HIP), (HIP-SM) and then the Heresy II version of the Pro's KP-250, etc.  They are too many to keep up with.  I love the HIP's the best while the bass extension drops in 85Hz range they have ferocious mid-bass with great impact, the mids and highs run wide open which makes them perfect for my Front Effects and Side Surround positions since they pick up every little nuance or sound making for a phenomenal theater experience.  That said the newest ones are very refined and improved and the price you pay for them won't be cheap but they are designed to last a lifetime.
