Thank you Duke. I'll give it the same reviews. Super sounding amp. Unless you hear it you can't imagine the nice deep smooth sound. I've got a couple of deals working right now on it. Nothing solid just yet. 1 offer for less money. No thank you. I know someone is wanting to get into tubes and this is a fine amp with all the tube benefits of beautiful strong sound. Simple to use. Next time by we will have to do the bedroom listening area. MC75s, Dodd ELP, Altec Valencias, or Altec 604Bs with the Denon CD-301. They sound pretty awesome too! Meeting so many from the forum here has just increased my love for music and the building of nice systems. It is a real pleasure to share with all of you this love of Klipsch in any form. Erik, The Crown PS400 is a heck of a SS amp. 190wpc @8 on paper very conservative, last forever, super quiet, brute bass, and can be picked up for a song. $200-$300 in excellent condition. Just a thought. HarryO

Craig, The subject may be beat to death but maybe NOW notice will be taken of the importance of proper power feed. A simple surge protector will Not help. The proper voltages are a must. Excellent exclammation on the power input problems. Readers take notice! Important things can be simple. Harry

Whatever you choose to go with, make sure the seller knows how to pack a turntable for shipping. The Linn is a nice table. I had a Basik I flat out loved. HarryO

Bump. I want a new preamp bad.

DD, K-600 throated, Atlas PD-5VH mids, Crites CW1526 cast woofs, Crites CT-125 tweets, modded B-2 to fit the Atlas, Cornwall cabinet volume with cut down port size that brought out the monster bass from the cast woofs. Super efficient now. Barely crank the volume up 1 notch. I haven't been able to turn it up past 9:00 o'clock. I'm not going to damage my hearing just showing off. At that volume I can shake the gravel out of my cactus and move the pictures on the walls.(who says tubes ain't got no balls) I did find out just using the Cornwall cabinet volume didn't mean you could build a pair of Cornwalls that would fit my room which was my original intention. EVERYTHING changed when the cabinet changed form. Even with the same cabinet volume. The lower shelf also went through major changes. This hasn't been a rip and assemble process by any means. I used a lot of computer programs for cabinet design and they were basically useless. A lot of trial and error. But progress and knowledge have been gained. Plus I'm building them myself. The design continues. I'm still making progress and I'm changing to a different design on the horns later. I love them the way they are. I couldn't ask for a better speaker for the room and my ears. I just WANT MORE!!!!! With a bit of hard work and a bit more knowledge I may just achieve my goal. Then I have to start over on the next design. And maybe the next. It's just a different form of audio love. And a big note of thanks to Bob Crites here. He worked with me on many steps in the original build. I went through over a dozen motorboards and different horn combos until I made them fit this room. Bob was there anytime I needed advice, suggestions, help, or parts. I don't have any loose. Only 1 socket in the last couple of years loosened up and that was my fault messing with cheap, bent pins, (trying to eyeball pins straight) and used tubes I had laying around. It was accessible from the underneath side and I just used an "Exacto" on it. I was just wondering if there was a preferred method that held true "across the board" if you may. I hate to bring it up and "knock on wood" I don't have any problems at all with my tube stuff. It's been as dependable as any SS I've ever owned except maybe Crown. I have NEVER had a Crown give me the first minute of trouble. I don't have trouble with my electronics. Tubes are just as dependable as SS if you use the proper equipment. I know this will start crap right away but I HAVE NO PROBLEMS AT ALL WITH TUBES. Very dependable. HarryO

Thank you. They're not bad for my prototypes. I'm working on a new design with seperate bass bins and a pivoting horn section. My room dimensions make for some strange mods for sure. I don't think it will be long before Michael gets the lot next door to him and builds a state of the art Klipsch private facility. With a bit more organization he could almost qualify as a showroom/museum as it is. Harry

Michael stopped by the house yesterday and I got a first hand look at his mobile test facility. You got to see it to believe it. The back of his Honda is set up with banana terminal outputs hooked up to some hugh mobile amps. Stereo and sub outs so he can road test his acquisitions. He's got a heck of a test bench. I thought I was in need of professional advice when it comes to audio. I feel so much better now. One of his newest is a sweet pair of KP-250s in Oak. Nice! Metal screen and a very nice Oak Veneer. OH, and some killer clamps on the cabs for pole mounting. Of course he opened up the trunk, grabbed up some cables, and fired them up in the parking lot in front of the apartment. I know my neighbors impressions of me are now cemented forever. While he was here I did get a chance to give him a test drive of the McAlister PP-150 and my Wallrus. It was a nice little visit. Welcome. The CF3's are nice speakers. You're running nice equipment all around. I'm familiar with your equipment very well. Without being in front of your system I'm gonna bet the distortion levels are peaking causing your speakers "to work against themselves". IMHO you're gonna have to upgrade to much cleaner power to raise the levels you're searching for. There's very few units available you're gonna be able to "floor the gas" on As far as the angle back Klipsch go(KHorns) you won't find many speakers better but the output levels you're reaching for should probably be gotten by a different power source. Duke, They make a couple of versions. This one has the soldered in tubes. Another version has a socket kit installed. Another option is a factory socket kit. Another is sending it back to California for an upgrade with sockets and a few other parts. I think this option is $160 approximately. I've heard them both ways. The tubes are easily accessable and installing sockets looks to be an easy job as they are on top and sit sideways. HarryO
