  1. Ya, I'm still in England til June. The soon to be X wife and my son are in Oklahoma right now. I'm going home on the 11th of Jan....................8 more days!!! to see my son. I'll be with him for about 3 weeks, then come back here, and move back to the states in June. I don't know where I"m going next yet. Should find out in Feb.
  2. Ohhhhhhhhhhh Buckster.................... No money for speakers right now. Child support.............. Alimony.............Studio gear, I' m pretty strapped right now. lol. Daddy Dee, thanks for the love on my music. About the divorce, it was one of those things that was over before we called it off, if you know what I mean. But, life goes on, right? Thanks for the support guys!
  3. Ya, she did post on here, but only like 2 or 3 times.
  4. Man, it's been about 7 months since I've been on the forum. Been really busy lately................... goin through a divorce, and tryin to get my demo album done. Plus still doin the military thing. Not much free time lately. I have a few on my songs on my myspace page. myspace.com/tommyhotopp have a listen and let me know what you all think. (if you're a hip hopper) The sound quality isn't all that great...... I don't have a studio out here in England. I'm literally using Music Maker 12, a Microphone and ITunes. By the way, the forum looks A LOT different than last time I was on here!
  5. I'm an avid Pioneer fan. See my signature and system profile. I have a receiver from 1988 that powers my SF1's really well. My very first receiver was a Pioneer. I don't remember the model # now, but my dad still uses that darn thing. I bought that one in 1995. He says it still sounds great. And he has Bose 601's. If that old receiver makes THOSE speakers sound good, Pioneer must be doing something right!
  6. Here's my personal opinion on breaking in periods. When you buy a new car, the owner's manual says to break it in for a certain # of miles. If the manual for your speakers doesn't say anything about a break in period, you shouldn't need one. I know none of my speakers sounded any better after a period of time. WEll, maybe a little better, but they definitely didn't "shine". With Klipsch, you should be able to pull them rightt out of the box, and let em rock. Once again, this is just my personal opinion.
  7. No I dont', but if you make a new post about on here, I'm sure someone can steer you in the right direction.
  8. I had a pair of SB2's for about 3 years. I absolutely loved them. I ended up selling them. They were great speakers, but you would think the RF62's would be a lot better. The SB2's are bookshelves, RF62's are towers. Everyone on here says that it's like night and day difference between the synergy's and reference line up. I don't think you need $500 cables, but if your current cables aren't very good, you may want to upgrade your wires. Are you sure you have the RF's set/ hooked up correctly? Are they toed in at all for proper imaging? Make sure you have everything set up right before making any major moves
  9. The SC3 is the matched center for the SF3's. I think you would be better off getting another SC3 for the rear channel, and keeping a SC3 center.
  10. the RF7's are MORE than capable of handling large settings. You will be fine leaving them the way they are. You could probably even get away with having all your speakers set on Large.
  11. My computer crashed on me last saturday. I've been trying to get it fixed, but haven't been able to. You never realize how much you like this forum, until YOUR COMPUTER CRASHES!
  12. My friend wants to buy a big screen. I need references to the right size tv for her living room. Are there any charts or graphs, or websites with this info. they just moved in, and don't know how theyr'e going to set up their living room, so I dont' know how far she'll be sitting away. she just wants a reference. Thanks
  13. Yes, I'm in the military. yes, this is the only place I will be stationed until '09. I might get to leave in '08, but highly doubt it. that's a good point about waiting, and saving more money, and not paying to ship everything. I didn't realize that I could get more speaker instead of paying for shipping and all that. Thanks
  14. I say sell the Altecs, and get an all Klipsch system.
  15. I feel that BO$E is targeted at "wifes" who don't want their husbands to have big, "manly" looking speakers in their house. they are small, and easy to blend into your home decor, whereas Klipsch doesn't exactly put out that kind of product. As a result of having small , easy to blend speakers, they sacrifice sound quality. Let's face it, you can only get so much sound to come out of one of those little cube "speakers."
  16. Ya, you gotta involve the wife when it comes to ht gear. It was her idea to get an entertainment center. As long as she lets me have my gear, its all good!
  17. call 1-800-KLIPSCH and ask them
  18. SVS, Outlaw, and other brands make awesome subs. I have a buddy who bought a 8" sub Outlaw sub. I was pretty inpressed considering it's only an 8 incher. I am true to klipsch however. In that price range, you may be able to get a RW15. I know for a fact you can get a RW12. I have the RW10, and I love it. My room in only 15 by 12 though. Good luck.
  19. That sounds like an excellent setup. I would definitely go with the Ref line instead of the synergy's. I also have synergy's. I am upgrading to reference when I get back to the states. (military, stationed overseas). The HK receiver should definitely do the trick for pushing the speakers, and making them sound awesome. good luck
  20. I had to create a new account. I forgot my password on my other one, and I tried 3 times to have one emailed to me, but never received one. It said it sent it, but I never received it. So I'm no longer Tommyboy, I'm tommyboy1587.
