  1. Thats exactly what I'm looking for, is the concert DVDs. And what is the best one, I know opinions will vary but are welcome. Sound quality, excitement factor and most songs.

  2. Well, I know there are people that don't think these movies are worth a breath of air at all. I for one enjoy these movies for I find them entertaining(maybe it don't take much). Anyhow, anyone that has enjoyed this shall we call it series, it does bring the story full-circle and finalizes events that have happened throughout. There is gore, some interesting "games" in the movie as well as a twist here and there. Anyone who has watched these movies should watch this one as well. And remember, you never know who you were not nice to that'll bite you in the bud...

  3. (whew) Bill, when I first saw this in my inbox I thought maybe you'd traded your Klipsch for some tiny cube speakers manufactured by (rhymes with hose) ... then I saw Klipsch Pro so thought OH NO he sold his Klipsch Pro for a pile of (rhymes with hose) pro scrap

Had me worried there for a minute. JBL I think is much more tolerable.... and even ok or good depending on the model.

Had me thinking the same thing when I read it. But if the man owns Yorkville, he would not fall for the (hose) speakers. [:D]

  4. I get the impression that Simon doesn't care much about this season. He has left early on one episode, and just seems to have a different attitude this season so far. Dunno why Ellen would be mad, so waht he's not there, who cares.

  5. Katy Perry last night was just delicious...

I still think there's just a little too much of the "clueless and talentless" aspect of these early shows each season and not enough of the good singers. The best scenes are when the good singers make it through and celebrate with their friends and family--I want to see more of that.

The Latin family man last night should go far...

I agree with you, when it gets farther into the season, we don't know who to watch or look for.

  6. The air column in the port is a "mass" or more specifically an acoustic inertance. The air contained in the enclosure volume is an acoustic compliance. Together they form a second resonance element of the system. At the resonance frequency, Fb, the port volume velocity is at a maximum whilst the impedance of the driver is a minimum. Putting it another way, the air volume in the port is not a spring but the air in the enclosure minus driver, port volume, bracing etc, is. The impedance minimum at Fb is fascinating wouldn't you say? And so armed with this understanding what are you trying to accomplish stuffing the port? or more precisely do you know "why" you want to stuff the port?

I may be having a mind absent day but is there a way to measure what the resonant frequency is of a port?

  7. Those two companies are the two that I do alot of researching/comparing on. Between the two that you mention, I'd go with the Klipsch as they will sound smoother cause they won't have to use as much amp power to drive them to any levels you may desire. The Klipsch also have a smoother response between the two. Just a note, Paradigm makes some pretty clean subs!

  8. Ok, I know there a some that don't care but there are members that kinda do. So here we go for another season of tom foolishness, rudeness and some really good singers. So far the season has had Victoria Beckham and Mary j Blige co-hosting and the list goes farther with Shania Twain and Neil P. Harris all the way to eventually Ellen Degeneres. So for those of you who don't watch the show, here is a little tidbit from the other night.

Funny stuff and true. Don't be caught with your pants on the ground. LOL

  9. IMO, (and someone can correct me if I'm wrong) but I think its best done with the proper power for the drivers being used as well as having an external crossover to send the proper frequencies to the appropiate drivers. Not to mention fun having the ability to select different frequencies to try different sounds/x-over points. This should be done by someone that knows what to do though as sending the wrong frequencies to the wrong driver may not be desireable. But done properly, can have a positive effect on the sound of a speaker system.

  10. Hi Jake, glad to hear you got a new receiver, I did too. The THX standard is 80Hz, but I have experimented with 60 and it doesn't sound too bad. Depends on your room/size, plus do you like it LOUD or comfortable. One thing to keep in mind is with a 80Hz x-over point, your receiver doesn't have to work as hard as with a 60 Hz point, how much difference I don't know but I have noticed my old Yamaha would get a little warmer when using the 60Hz point.
