  1. That said, I could not sleep right away last night trying to recall what I had read as a grammar school young tyke. Having read John Jacob Astor, James Fenimore Cooper and the like back then, I could not remember if eating beaver was done back in the day as, there was a mass slaughter of the animals by the different beaver fur trading companies. If not, it was a double whammy just leaving all that meat to scavengers. Just thinking of the hunter code of eating what you kill. Also know that the beaver is surely now protected, but wonder if any NW Native American tribes hold them in rituals, etc. Very broad I know. This came from the beaver conversation I previously enquired about, and wild food.
  2. Yes good morning y'all. Is that a Domeniker cock crowing? Miss rooster's crowing in the middle of the night. Day Of The Animals starring Leslie Neilson is recc. for watching him gone wild... Dang, looks like a real wolf somewhat... Guess 8')'Clock still have beans? Too many questions I have of late...so early in the new year...
  3. Cool! Motto...guess I was way out there.
  4. Yes thanks, that is what I was thinking! Had thought Oregon but, not too familiar Dang, no wonder I thought something. the beaver is a bit celebrated then, of course. Smart and hearty.
  5. Yes thanks, that is what I was thinking! Had thought Oregon but, not too familiar.
  6. Good for what ails you. Like some smoked whenever encountered, cept maybe certain wild game. Wonder what they eat in California that is wild. IAC had a good day. ATM thinking about some wedding cake I saved for an occasion. Guess a brew may be entirely out. Or not so...
  7. Need one or 2 if available. Thanks!
  8. Whelpers, Offered to take Nan some food but, she still has a fever and still feels like crap, her words. So, I asked the lady who came home from a dinner last night who has a common wall between us, who knows me quite well from the sounds I make, if she wanted blackeyes, etc. She said no thank you as, her brother was making them, but who may not be speaking to me now that the cat is out of the bag about my music, as she had come in earlier than expected, to the sound of ABBA Gold, complete with sub. Now that my cover is blown, I thought what the hay. She did go for a man showing up to her door before a woman on New Years as good luck though. Told her yes, family steeped in tradition. So, may have to see if she has heard about traditions and superstitions surrounding New Years. To cut it shorter, to borrow a phrase, knock on wood, I went to an Old Steak& Ale on North Monroe here that the venerable Dr. Lamb said was much better than anything he had consumed in London. It is now a family restaurant/buffet where the food is sold by the pound, not sterling. It did have sweet tea, no lemon to be found, as the tray had somehow walked off somewhere they said before my arrival. A bit on the sweet side but salvageable. Blackeyes, white rice, no smoked hog jowls but some nice pork stew, chicken and dressing, flat wax beans(can) which I endure and collard greens seasoned, cornbread, bread roll and for dessert, peach pie and what appeared similar to cake with wedding cake icing. Weight came to 3 pounds and was proud of myself for not spilling the takeout plate, dessert containers. At first I thought, I have leftovers for Monday but alas, not so much. Now I have health wealth and good fortune covered. The rest is just gravy... Do not go out in public very often but since restaurant was closing early, made out until a year from now. Will have to go out on the morrow as I must mail the tag to a forum member at the post office. No worries however, as I remembered I now have a full beard. Hope you made out to whatever if any tradittions have you attached!
  9. Happy New Years James... I'll speak to the warden...

  13. They wanted me to put my hotdog on the table. Did not think it very smart... Cannot think of the county but, about 40 minutes away is birthplace of Robinson. It is Grady County Georgia with several small townships. Main seat is Cairo, pronounced Karo like the syrup. Know this from the sign when entering county. I was asked to go there cause of my long hair and southern drawl back then to do jobs. Small world really. Happy New Year ya'll!2017...yea baby...
  14. Lol, Thanks for talking about this. Saw an old clip of some of the performance on the tube, and saw a documentary mentioning some conflict. Heard all kinds of things over the years but, some are not the completed. Hope Betty is alive and well this near the cusp. Lake Placid...

  19. Whelp, Had thought yesterday that I might go down to the joint tonight but, may just stay here. Beer I was given went down too fast. Besides, all those strange women kissing on me might prove too embarrassing for someone. Guess your stuck with me... maybe. Roads will be wet in a matter of hours here. What a partying town T-Town is...
  20. Guess I am staying in town tonight as Nan has a bad cold of a couple of days now. She does not want me to get sick. So sweet. Meanwhile I sold an excellent Marantz sr7500 off of the list to a young fireman from my hometown to present to his mom. He got it complete for $50. Asked him to let unit warm up some as it spent the night in the wagon. Even gave him an optical cable. Then someone knocks and it was 2 tenants giving me a couple of beers. Guess I may pop another top later... we will see...lol Have some ham here so, may have to go get some rice, peas, cornbread...for New Years...
