  1. Joe is the man! If he can't do it! Nobody can...I love Joe
  2. Not sure I know this link. Please do it! HT would work.
  3. How does Joe feel about that? Joe won't say...
  4. Your welcome! Sounds like a good plan all the way around. The wire backup cannot hurt. Please let us know how you make out, as other's will learn.
  5. Always good to have another person in the house not only to view your work in room but, attics can be tricky and can be headbangers depending. Almost stuck my foot through drywall ceiling one time, or two. Careful! You do not sound like a rookie though.
  6. Ready for audition pickup...$325 I think I recall...
  7. It's OK were not here to judge, well we shouldn't at least. It won't offend me if you all do the plumber method. Diff strokes...
  8. Happy Birthday and many more!
  9. That may well be the good idea there, prescoring drywall is not a new thing as you know. Good idea IMLO Sounds like the right tools. Just proceed slow and with caution. I have know of placing light wide masking tape over the interior drywall cut to help eliminate errors but, you sound experienced. Slow and steady as she goes should get it. Please stay with us to see how it all works out. Yes prescoring! Well big old welcome here!
  10. I think you are thinking about it correctly. The drywal should be able to handle the weight with the rails in place to distribute the weight more uniformly. To the touch, you may be able to discern the strength on the drywall. The closeness of the situation almost requires cutting from the attic down, very carefully as not to disturb the surrounding area of the interior ceiling, so as not to breakaway material that the spewaker cover cannot conceal. It may be cutting the close areas from top then going down to finish, or more closely control the cut. What will you be cutting with? BTW, welcome to the forum! It is early yet but others here may well chime in with their take and tips...
  11. What type of ceiling is it? What is it made of? Panels or sheetrock, plywood? Sounds like you are moving carefully and rightly so as you will just have one try. Do one speaker first to deal with unforseen problems, if any.
  12. Yes no, coffee enemas for me...I prefer Joe straight in the mouth Who loves you baby...
  13. No little house around it, it would make things a lot easier ? I have always had a house but GF's place is different. Guess I could bang a few nails since dad was a master carpenter. You just gave me an idea though. We built a 4x4x4 doghouse for Xena out of good ply, with a tin cover besides the ply. We could probably re-use the doghouse.BTW, never had to spend the night there...so far. Nan came back with some space age insulated material we put on after plumber left. Thin but, good so far. Shouldn't play with the weather I know. Had to do without water 25 or so years ago due to ice. Couldn't wash my head for a week an had huge lumps on my head. Dermatoligist said I caught a case of severe dandruff. Still trying to figure out. I would feel better. Will see.
  14. No, it is not always pretty. But it is exciting...go FSU...
  15. 25 degrees now and a bit lower in area around here. Glad we put a prophylactic for security around the well tank and associated lines. Plumber came back yesterday and fixed a leak around gauge of new tank, and thought we needed a new outdoor faucet but a wrench and screwdriver fixed that. Good old school weather I remember as a kid here in N Florida. One more night tonight and then it is to Peter out some...coffee is good...
  16. I never heard such things in my life. Educational to boot! Thanks all...LOL
  17. It is, but coffee led to alcohol which somehow led to crevasses which led to Chuck bringing it all back around to cables a couple of post back. Do you really expect us to stay on topic anywhere on the forum ? That get's boring Well, I just don't want to hear about anyone's hemmorhoids. A brother told me about the surgery blow by blow and well, I heard enoughabout enough. It wasn't boring though...
  18. Got this idea to run by you. You see these well water tanks, the round one's you may see in rural areas> They can be 4/6 foot tall or more, depending upon size and preference, read needs. If you take say a black garbage bag, to hide the tank, insulation, and slip it over, what do you have? Have to visualize sorry but, thinking about patenting idea. What would be a good name for it? billybob's folly... other? Thanks
  19. I thought this was a coffee and cable thread.
