I have had a Yamaha CX-A5200 for a couple of years but recently found a Marantz AV8805 for a decent price. It is a huge upgrade for my rather involved basement system. I was close to going with Anthem or Monoprice but availability and lots of reports of buggy software made me try the Marantz. I'm super glad I did, my basement system sounds so good I'm afraid to to mess with the settings. The Audessy room correction is not as good a Dirac (at least in what I read) but I use all active crossovers and have spent a lot of time and effort with REW so it didn't hace a lot to do.
Again, the sound is phenoninal in my systen (and the Yamaha was no slouch).

Is it pretty intuitive to use and set up? Are you amps balanced or unbalanced? If unbalanced, are you using XLR to RCA cables?

I have 2 of that Ashly unit and a 3.6. I also have a Xilica model too. The Ashly units are great though not up to Xilica standard. The 3.24cl is an older model with no comuter interface so everything has to be done mannually (i.e. a bit tedious). However combined with REW measurements still yields excellent sound.

I do. An old computer running JRiver is the way to organize and play digital files as well as stream music. Super cheap, and it leaves you with more $ to spend on the dac where it really matters.

For music, no you do not need a center channel unless you are doing 5.1 etc. The only exception IMO would be a very wide room. I had my Klipschorns in my basement prior to building my Quarter Pie theater. They were 24 feet apart which just didn't seem to work well for imaging in my space. I added a LaScala in the middle (summed LR signal) and that worked pretty well and got rid of the center hole in the sound. Now that I have them a mere 20 ft. apart in my teaching studio stereo is fine.

What I like about its design is that it has two hdmi outs, one for video and one for audio only. Also, there is no fan, but the cooling is done by the chassis and a heavy cooling fin. Apparently, it's built like a tank and weighs 5kg.
I have two of them. Excellent SACD transport.

A newer computer with a good dvd drive. If your old computer is that slow maybe its time to replace
EAC to do the rip. Takes longer but worth it

I am selling a single oak Klipsch Forte speaker. The speaker is in fair cosmetic condition but should clean up nicely with some effort. The cabinet is sound and all drivers working.
I was using this as a center channel between Cornwalls and it excelled in that role.
This is local pickup only in the Cincinnati area. $275

I am using the CXA81 to run a pair of big Yamaha monitors with 15 inch woofers (they have to be portable since I often listen on my porch). I would think they would do a nice job on Cornwalls too. That was a concern of mine as well but after digging around on the AVS Forum it seems to be a non issue.
There are a couple of Youthman videos about this sub that helped make up my mind. It will be interesting to hear how it compares to the tuba table.

Well after doing lots more reading I decided to try the Monoprice Monolith 15 inch sub. I will go with a single since it is quite big (but loads smaller than the tuba table) and will fit my space well. Thanks to all who helped me look beyond just what SVS offers. BTW the Monolith is currently on sale for $1149 with 30 day return and 5 year warranty.

My wife and I are in the process of fixing up our living room now the kids are gone. I am currently using a tuba table sub with my 7.1 system with Cornwalls for LR and a Forte for the center. In an effort to open the room up a bit I am thinking of using two SVS SB-3000 subs in place of the tuba table. Anyone using the SVS with Cornwalls?

Having been down this exact path with K-horns, Heresy 1 or 2 (or Fortes, Cornwalls, or Chorus) will be fine for surrounds. The center channel is the one that matters most for matching and I don't think you are going to be close to happy with a Heresy as the center channel.
A LaScala works perfectly in that role, but singles can be rare. A cornscala might also be an option if you a a DIY guy. YMMV

Chorus II is great but I want to avoid the passive radiator since they need to quite close to the wall as well as matching with my Forte center channel.

Those are Chorus II. Great speaker but I am looking for a Chorus I. It needs to match up with my Forte center and a Heresy surrounds. -
I have done a lot of reading about Starlink and the big issue now is line of sight with the current number of satellites. Apparently you need a clear line of sight fairly low to the south and even a few trees can kill the signal. My rural place in NC really needs decent service, even cell service is very poor. With the current tree issue Starlink is out for us living in the woods.
