Hey JC, I have been reading alot of threads about the Cornscala since reading CB,s post ! My question is why couldnt you take a La Scala, build a mortarboard for the front of the base bin with ports and turn the bass driver to the front. Would this not do the same thing ? I have some La Scala's that need some cosmetic upgrades. This sure would make re-veneering them alot easier ! Thanks, Don

Cigarbum, I have 4 K-horns in a room 13 X 21 and love the sound ! If I didnt need my garage I would turn it into a 24 X 24 more sound proof room and move the H/T in there. No dought it would sound better and the sweet spot would be centered.

Thanks Daddy Dee, We looked at he dealers website for prices on the ones Bob shows in his kit and it looks as though Bobs package is less expensive. I have 4 K-horns and 4 LaScalls and Im sure after doing the first set I wll want to do the rest. All of them have AA crossovers in them and I thought by going to the dealer might make it affordable to do them all. Thanks, Don

I took it to a buddy of mine who is an electrical engineer, he soldered the wire back and they work great !! We talked about replacing the caps and he said it would be simple. I am just wondering if brand matters as long as the values of the caps are the same? Thanks to ALL, Don

After reading another post (Help,I May Need A New Crossover and Cabinet Reglue For A Heresy II, 1986) I think I have found the problem. The crossover also had a broken wire. I dont know anything about this stuff so this is a very crude desription. The nut on the positive speaker jack was loose and I guess this is why the wire from the little blue cylinder deal broke. Vibration I guess. I will find someone to solder it and let you know if that fixes it. Thanks alot, Don

Thanks Noah, They were actually both workng when I first began listening to them today and then one qoit working. I swapped woofers and that didnt help. The woofer that was not working worked in the other cabinet but the orignal cabinet the woofer still would work. Not sure what up !

Hey Guys, I have a set of 86 Heresy II that the woofer in one is not working. I put that woofer in the other speaker and it works fine. Just wanting to know if that means there is a problem in the crossover. Thanks, Don

I am a believer of Klipsch. I had to move the 74 Cornwalls out to put these in. I like the sound of the Cornwalls better. I had LaScalas before and sold them. I will be dropping the price on these LaScalas tonight and will keep dropping it till they sell ! Don

Bill, " Even with concrete block walls you can still drop down inside providing you are aware which cells are poured and which are hollow. " I was a commercial masonry contractor foy 15 years. There will always be a bondbeam block at the top of the wall poured with concrete unless the ceiling has been dropped, which i doubt, allowing you to come in under the bondbeam above the celing. If it is also used as a storm shelter it probably has poured cells vertically and horozontally for wind strength. Good idea but I dont think it will work ! Don

Lighting will not be a problem as you have an open attic to run the wiring that you will need. You can use existing wiring to the lights already installed unless you want to install a new switch for the new cans you install. These cans can be remodel cans which are easy to install. Are the 3 walls solid conrete or concrete block. Since this is not a basement I am not sure why the walls are concrete unless this room is also being used as a shelter. I am curious about the finish on the walls in the Media Room. This whole project gives you a chance to see how I feel when I come onto the forum asking questions. I have the equipment but I am just not sure what to do with it to get the optimum sound from it. Don

Hey Youthman, I have been in construction my whole life ! I am not sure how much the Superintendent can do for you untill you close, unless his company is building the house for you. Putting in dimmers is one of the last things he would do in the trim out stage. The cans should be put in before the sheetrock goes up as they need to be wired in. As far as the speakers wires in the walls go there is bound to be some kind of wall finish that they could go behind. There are so many thing you could do but I would need alot more information. JBSL, There are two set of imputs on the Adcom amp. Right now I am having to use splitters from the main out on my preamp to feed all four imputs on the amp. I have moved the speaker connections around to get what I think is the best 4 channel sound. This Denon 5308 is so complicated I barley know how to use the remote. Thanks, Don

When I am listening in music mode I hook up the four K-horns to a 4 - channel Adcom GFA-2535L 60 watts per channel and an Adcom GFP-500 preamp. It soung great but I could definatly change that sound with upgrades on the componets. The H/T is the system I am trying to make better even though it sounds Fantastic ! Don

Darkside, Generally, a rear center channel is 6.1. 7.1 has back left/right behind you and left/right surrounds for the sides. If it were me, I'd wire the two in parallel and have both for the one channel. They're plenty efficient and you certainly would be able to hear them! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have plenty of plug ins for Surround B and Surround sides and others but only one center. You might be right just parallel them together and leave on 5-channel stereo ! I use a Denon 5900 DVD/CD player and music might sound decent as well. I dont hardly listen to music through it because it just doesnt sound as good as my amp & preamp with CD does. Thats my other problem, when I want to listen to music I have to unplug from the A/VR and plug the 4 Horns into my 4 channel amp. What a hassle! I wish they made a box I could flip a switch and go either way !

xman, If one will fit use a Cornwall for the center it will work great. A La Scala or Belle would be better but the Cornwall would be a very good center also. I have a Denon 4800 and it can do 6.1 with a single rear speaker so I would think the 5803 would have this also. Check your Denon manuall. I have had LaScalla II and Cornwall II this year and didnt like them, so I sold them. These Cornwalls sound very close to my Horns and I love em! In the brochure that came with them it shows horns right and left with cornwall center. This is what I am wanting to do for front and rear with no sub. (not much need for 1) Thanks,Don

I have a Denon 5803 A/VR 7.1-- 170 watt per channel. I currently have 4 Kornerhorns and an Academy center. It is running on 5 channel stereo and sounds great, but I really dont get any distinction from the center channel, it may be too small. I have been looking for a single Belle with no luck ! I managed to luck out and get a FANTASTIC set of Cornwalls here on the forum Friday night. What I want to know is there an option to use one for a front center and one for a rear center ?

Quartets are hard to find, but if you can find 4 Quartets and an Academy Center I think the sound would be pretty awesome. You should be able to do this for $900 to $1,000 . I dont think the KG4s have enough punch for Home Theatre. I too came here 9 months ago after buying 3 set of Bose 901s looking for infomation on Klipsch. I was told by Thebes to box them up, sell them and buy Klipsch. So I did, but only have sold 1 set so far. What Thebes didnt tell me was how addicting Klipsch sound was. I have 3 different Adcom Amps , they are all listed in my beginning post. Right now I have 2 901s wired up to the left channel and 2 901s wired to the right of only 1 amp. Just wasnt sure that is ok to do with the horns and belles. I definatrely dont want to mess anything up!! Thanks, Don
