    Deltronics has two locations

    Chicago and Woodridge

    https://www.deltronics.com/our-locations

They have repaired everything I have brought them. 12-15 pieces of gear.

Yamaha, McIntosh, Pioneer Elite, Dual TT etc........

100% success rate, 1 piece of gear had to go back found and fixed the issue NC

inc equipment where the first shop I used "couldn't hear the buzzing" when I brought it back because they didn't fix the problem. Deltronix diagnosed the problem and fixed it.

This place has at least 4-5 techs at the woodridge location

If they need to order parts, it may take a few weeks

He stands behind the repairs, so hook it up when you get home and use it.

If it needs tweaking, bring it back inside the warranty.

He has a store front off the tollway in Woodridge, and store hours.

This is a professionally run business complete with front counter girl.

I may just do that, Thanks.

A still working on it or need more time Jason would have gone a long way.

At this point I expect nothing but a $1500 loss.

  2. Nothing out of the ordinary happened besides blaming this noise on EMF, electric source, something in the circuit, ETC...

None of these are factors and the noise is not anything heard from the other dozen or so sources I ran and would be embarrassed having company with this noisy receiver hooked up.

If it ever returns functioning my door is always open for music lovers.

Changed capacitors do not scare him off. What concerns him is terrible work by previous techs. The secret to dealing with Casper is to deal with him on a face-to-face basis and to form a relationship with him. He is seriously overwhelmed with work in the last year or so and where he normally would take 3 to 6 weeks to complete a unit,  his work load is now typically between 8 to 12 weeks.  and, I would recommend that if you don’t know about his work or his shop that you not make negative comments about him.  I have had at least 20 to 25 very positive experiences with him. Never had an issue.

I like the place too but 10 months with no reply ?

    It's been 18 months.....

  4. Found this thread searching on Google.

Have not been around much, kinda bummed out. Stereo rehab (Caspar) has really done me in a bad way. Long story short had my first unit repaired and it went Ok for the most part and looking for a better unit he recommended a few and one I found and sent right to him. Been a year and a half now in and out with the same buzzing light ballast noise. Dropped it off in early January still within his one year warranty period but enough is enough has not answered one of my emails not does he answer the phone.

Can't see how this is good business.

Sunny and Gabrielle look like great company.  I love cats, and I’ve been lucky to have at least one kitty around for most of my life, but after I lost Tigger in 1995 and Zeus in 2000, I decided that it would be too tough to go through losses like that again.  Now my stereo keeps me company.

BTW, good luck with the sale of your sub.  It looks well-made.

When I was 10 or so one of my neighbors kids was swinging their kitten around by the tail talking about doing worse things so i took it away from them had cats ever since.

    Jason,

What are the dimensions? Also is this complete just plug in amp and play?

    Thanks,

    Randy

    33" x 34" x 25"

Recently went through it, just add an amp with crossover for basic use.

  8. Recommended 10" Dayton. This is the demo that has been lugged around for years and still looking good considering. Some imperfections including Veneer chip on rear corner as shown. $600 Local pickup only. Fort Wayne Indiana.

  9. Thanks for all the positive comments. Yes Google sent me here, i may have searched cheap homes or cheap safe homes. Something along those lines anyways. Living with no hot water heater so pots and pans on the stove for everything and some critter chewed a big hole in the roof but their climbing tree has been removed at least. Thing will hopefully be repaired and replaced as time and cash are available. Enjoying no limits in volume here, back to the music for now.

  10. Googled cheap places to live and Fort Wayne Indiana popped up, rolled the dice and bought a home there. Just got stuff situated with internet and music hooked up yesterday & today, enjoying some tunes and figured i would stop in. Household dynamics changed since mom died and i had to get out for my sanity. Crazy moving to a place i have never been to and hours from friends and family but feels good so far. Plenty of tinkering to do on this 100 year old home will keep me busy.

Coytee, Good job finding those photos!

Jason, that is the problem. The mouth braces are NOT set back. I suppose one could do some surgery, but who is going to do that a new pair of cabinets.

    -Tom

You could make individuals for each mouth opening, just hot glue a small piece of wood in each corner to attach each section.

Personally i find front mounted grilles to be an afterthought.

  12. If the horn mouth braces are set back from the cabinet itself just make a frame 1/4 to 3/16 smaller than the opening ( depending on grille cloth type ) and mount to the braces.

As for the top just miter a frame the same width as the bass bin and attach it behind the horn, mount your new grille to that.
