  1. Looks good and the KG's are great for the size, just add a little sub to reach full potential.

Wax is a great looking finish with minor upkeep.

To fill those little seams and gaps epoxy does the trick (before waxing of course), just sand after application

    Enjoy those great looking speakers.

So what? I wasn't.  Have you ever actually heard one or own one?  I don't understand people that have to attempt to throw negative light on something without data or experience.  I am not affected when people like you do these types of things, because I really don't care what you think, but there are people that may take that type of negative BS to heart, so maybe a little more thinking is in order before you post things.

    Obsolete design for a reason.

You are welcome to take it negatively if you want but figured actual customers may prefer facts.

And what does that have to do with the performance of the sub?

Zero benefits of an actual horn for one and its a dual reflex bandpass design if you were wondering.

  4. Many here have audio addiction to some extent including myself. Have to admit drugs and alcohol can make music sound more enjoyable but the way i go about avoiding unneeded purchases normally is to only buy something after hearing something that sounds better than one of my personal components but even then could just be the room itself working better in some fashion.

Jason ---what are you repairing with the shoe goo--------will it glue on , seal on-------------and wouldn't glue be just as good  -

As long as the repair is along the seam and not on the surround shoe goo is an acceptable long lasting repair.

If the rubber surround has hardened and no longer flexible it will need to be replaced with a new one.

  6. Burn or download a 20 Hz frequency track and repeat.

Get the woofer cone moving 3/16" or so and play it overnight or when you're out, if its too much at night turn it down a bit.

That will speed things up and the frequency is inaudible.

I know they are new but an air leak check would be good reassurance.

we never had these problems ,  the trucks that went up and down our streets , and the planes above  in the skies  ,  all day long   ,  drowned any of that noise-

There was a CTA bus turnaround right across the street, it was always noisy.

The Supra was a good car, similar to my 82 280 ZX in performance and fuel economy.

  8. I received a loud stereo ticket right in front of my old apartment in Chicago, cop was a total dick. I had a 1979 Toyota Supra at the time with just the factory stereo dashboard speaker playing. Ticket was not a cheap one either.

i was asking why you told me to look at the size difference between the 2, they are within ~1" of each other...

what i buy isnt in question here, i was replying to your initial post about using multiple dayton subs.

thanks for the permission to buy what i want, you are also welcome to buy what you want.

    SVS   Overall Dimensions: 22.5" (H) x 20.5" (W) x 29.9" (D) (with grille)  ---------------------------    13,376.2 Cu In.

    Dayton   • Dimensions (plastic feet included): 19-3/4" H x 19-1/4" W x 19-3/4" D. -------------   7,508.7 Cu In

why? they are about the same size.  now times that by 3-4 multiples as was suggested for the daytons to match the 16 ultra.  my point was multiples & large horn subs arent always practical or possible.

Nobody said it was a match.

Feel free to buy what you want.

i dont doubt 4 of the daytons would be better... thats 60" of woofer!  but lets be realistic here, quite possible he & many people don't have room for 4 subs based on the dimensions posted.  same for the table tuba subs... looks like they are rather large, 30x30x16 or 60" long for the long style.  plus they need to be built,  not too practical for many people that just want to add a good sub to their system.  & just because SVS mixed up the power cord is no reason to be fed up with them, they will make it right & stand behind their product for many years to come, even after the warranty expires.

i agree the price is high on most these upper level brands, but SVS has good deals in the discount section & can find them used for less than half the price with transferable warranty.  there are better options out there but size &/or positioning of multiple subs arent for everyone.

Look at the size difference between the Dayton & SVS cabinets.

Didn't PWK say something like "not all instruments play from the exact same spot on the stage" ?

     Good sales pitch. :emotion-21:

Time alignment makes a noticeable difference. Horns suffer in this regard.
