  1. Sure do appreciate all the help you guys are giving but it's all pretty much Greek to me. Still not sure what I will do with this thing, maybe buy some pre-recorded tapes or record a bunch of favorites, don't know. If no one has anything they have and want to get rid of them is there some place to purchase a good machine at a reasonable price and been checked out by someone who knows what they are doing. Mikey, thanks for the offer, I am finally getting rid of a lot of stuff that isn't serving a purpose around here. Chris will be picking up the Belles soon and that wil be about it. Almost hate to get rid of the Belles, with the changes, they rock. Cigarbum
  2. I do not want to start a war either, but they just look real cool, the more lights, dials, knobs and meters the better. Being in no great hurry, I would much rather purchase one from my brethern, at least you can trust them ( I hope). Would like one that is in pretty good shape and operating as it should. Sop if anyone decides they want to get away from that old nasty analog stuff and you got a good tape deck, let me know. Thanks CigarBum
  3. Ye, but they just look real cool. CB
  4. I really have not decided to go this direction, but, taking into consideration that I know nothing about these critters. If you guy had to put a list to gether of say the top 3 or 4, 2 channel decks. Top price for a good functioning rebuilt unit, quality unit, say $500 to $750. Am I in the ballpark or all wet. I have probably asked the question before but forgot, old age is hell. Thanks Cigarbum
  5. Craig, you have a PM retaining to restoration. Cigarbum
  6. Just came across a console type unit, no turner, but had the amp and truntable in it. Can anyone shed some light on what this is, ID tag says Model ADR -433, 12 watts each channel, series 112, tubes (4) 6BQ5/EL84, (2) 7025/12AX7, (2) 6AV6 and (2) 6U8. Is it worth saving and have it rebuild?? Cigarbum
  7. Thank you all for your very kind words. At some point I know it will get better, but you have to understand that I am a sissy and thanks God for some real nice drugs. The rehab is progressing but the little gril who works on me really does a good job, but hurts, drugs after each session. Ya, I hope the Dr is wrong, at least I will try to prove him wrong, need to get back to doing the things I enjoy. Agaiin thanks, my issues are small compared to some, I give thanks every day, to the others I hope you the best. CigarBum
  8. I hope I am as lucky as your mother-in-law. In my last conversation with my Dr., all my hobbies may be out the window, fly fishing, hi-powered rifle shooting , even the big cal pistols, golf, says I may last 3 or 4 holes, wood working, going to be real careful. Now what do I do with all my toys???? With full replacement, both ball and socket, more risk I guess. Getting old is a real bummer. cb

  10. Have a delightful day. CigarBum
  11. Well, Hell, if everybody had a good time lets do it again next year, God willing and the creek don't rise, same time, same station. Because we change audio equipment like we change underware (if you wear any) don't know what I might have then. CigarBum
  12. I have been looking for a good excuse to drink that bad boy. I couldn't think of a better group a guys to share it with. It was very good, in fact the best I have ever hadn and I have drank a bunch in my years. The cigar, a Cuban Flor De T. Partagas Lusitania, EXCELLENT. CIGARBUM
  13. Well, ffirst I would like to thank everyone that attended, it made the weekend super. I just woke up from another nap, I needed it, this old man just can't keep up with the young kids anymore. You can not believe how much I learned from all the experts, I being the novice, individual thanks to JC, Terry, Mark, Richard, Bruce and Chris all greaat guys and a ton of knowledge, they gave me several tip on how to improve my systems and I will be working on them very soon. I would also like to thank my dear friend that has been with me for many years who gave his content for the well being of all the Klipsch followers, thank you Mr. MaCallan Anniversary Malt 25, you served well. I'm sorry for those who wanted to come but couldn't make it, you were missed. God willing and the creek don't rise, we';ll do it again next year, all will be invited Thanks again for a great weekend CigarBum

Bob Greene 1916 Chimney Mountain Road Sautee Nacoochee, GA 30571 706-878-9069 If you get to Helen call, if you have a GPS it will try to take you to a road that doesn't exist, and straight up a mountain. One mile North of Helen, rt 356, go 5 miles, at Eugene Road turn left, go 200 yards turn right onto Chimney Mountain Road, dirt road, go 0.8 mile paved driveway on right, up the hill, second house, when you can't go any further, your there, Jeep and Infinity in garage. Don't bother to bring any food, if I don't have it I will get it. Grill is fine, I'll stand guard. CB
  15. Mike, really sorry you can't make it , no fear we will have another one some other time. OK, we are getting close, I just want to check to see if anyone has any special requests, food, drink or what ever. I will be going to town for the buy, so let me know within the next day or so. If you could please give me your estimated time of arrival, I have sleeping accommodating for the following; JC, Terry (down stairs), Chris (Small bedroom), I still have a leather sofa and two leather recliners that will be available for those not sure. No invitation needed just shown up and enjoy, it should be fun. CB
  16. I have 1 sofa left, other than that, I have 2 comfortable refliners. cb
  17. Well, for the second time within a week I have been visited by a couple of the BIG black furry critters, they have spread my trash can and contents all over White County. It's just a shame that it's a $25,000 AND 15 years in jail for shooting one of the or I would have several bear rugs on the floor. Maybe I can get some of the DNR to come up and pick up my trash as it was caused by one of GA State Treasurys. Any way if your coming, and I hope you all are be careful, there is a ton of bears around this year, once you get here I have plenty of things that will deter them. Gettin close guys CB
  18. I do have both and love them. Now I may be critized for this but I really can't tell a lot of difference. These old ears just don't work like they used to. The MC275 is driving modified Khorns and the VRD's are driving some big ol DBB. Keep in mind I have just put $700-800 in tube upgrades, they do make a difference. If you need any specific info, let me know. cb
  19. JC, that's some nice stuff. Just from a personal standpoint, I would be curious to see how my stuff stacks up aginst some real nice equipment. You know we always want to think we have the best, but in actuality there is always something better, can't wait. CB
  20. Man, I have missed a bunch of posts, been occupied on another project I have. Should have plenty of food and drink when you all get here. I guess I will have to clean the house, get the leaf blower out and let her rip, scares the cats but blows all the junk out. Again folks, nothing fancy but I consider it comfortable. So, come on no invitation needed, good food, drink, cigars music and good friends. Can't wait, got any special requests, let me know. See you shortly CB
  21. Happy Birthday Al, I hope you have many, many returns. Thanks again. CigarBum
  22. Just from past experience, if you take a direct hit, no amount of money or any type of equipment will stop it, there is NOTHING you can do to protect anything, Lightning has a mind of its own. CB
  23. Well, I consider myself a very lucky and fortunate person to be able to have the means to provide myself with, the equipment I have. VRD, Peach, MC275, C-34V, MC7200, C-29, Khorns, DBB and Belles. I believe I have reached the point of dimishing returns, could I get better, maybe, but God knows how much I would have to spend to get there and if I did have something else I don't think I could I hear the difference. My 63 year old ears just love what I have,so I think I will just keep what I have. CigarBum
  24. Chris, I am assuming you got the crossovers and the drivers installed OK. Did you need any help with the drivers, they are heavy. CigarBum
  25. As we discussed the other day, I share some of your feeling about " No Longer Klipsch ". I still feel if it had not been for Klipsch and PWK we would never traveled down the road we have ventured down. I think he would have been proud to see that some expanded the envelope slightly. Very happy you like your new Klipsch inspired Khorns CigarBum
