  1. I thought that looked a little too wild, even for the British. It looks much better as a conventional speaker no doubt about it. Now, here is another question. If this little BBC speaker is as good as you guys say, how can that be, when IT IS NOT A HORN SPEAKER AND NOT A HORN-LOADED speaker! PWK mentioned in his SEVEN (?) CARDINAL RULES, Inter Modulation Distortion is very bad on cone speakers (paraphrase). I am guessing the BBC mini speaker might RIVAL THE JUBILEE on vocals?!?!?!?!?!?! based on what people have said in this thread.
  2. http://www.klipsch.com/find-a-theater/ Perhaps the link will help in that endeavor. Carl Thank you Carl but what this locator does is tell you what theaters use Klipsch speakers of any kind but not Jubilee speakers specifically. I appreciate your help though.
  3. Maybe this is a silly question but is that speaker actually designed to face downwards like in the photo? Is that what gives the small package more bass, like a separate subwoofer firing down kind of effect?
  4. Now I don't want to falsely defame you, Mr Coyote, and I know that of course this could never apply to you, but I want to WARN PEOPLE that they should always be careful when responding to offers on the internet that SEEM TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!! There are a lot of seriously deranged perverts and serial killers on the internet who LURE THEIR VICTIMS into visiting with hard to resist offers. I dare not describe what happens next. A WORD TO THE WISE IS SUFFICIENT!!! Say no more.
  5. Fini is independently wealthy. You could charge him $40.
  6. I wonder if this group is anything like The Beatles? Their "Love"2-LP sells for $45 new and IFyours is in LIKE-NEW CONDITION, it'd probably bring $30. That one could be worth $25-$50 DEPENDING ON CONDITION!!!!!! You are talking serious beer money, baby [] [] And pizza [pi] Your jazz is run of the mill common stuff sorry my good man []
  7. I wouldn't make blanket statements about Single Ended Triode amps because they are not all the same any more than all Solid State amps are the same. I say don't jump to conclusions that a speaker is damaged. Make logical deductions like I did and you'll find that your original idea may not be correct. Let's analyze the best way to help someone out instead of dealing in generalities, please.
  8. Dr. Bill is a good writer. Clearly from the wide variety of anecdotes he dispenses in his long post, there is no problem at all with confidentiality, AS I STATED FROM THE BEGINNING. I WAS CLEARLY CORRECT ALL ALONG.
  9. You are the one with the . I moved my LaScalas (you can look up the weight) by myself. Unloaded them from the Blazer and up my front steps into my living room. It is quite do-able, but you have to use your head as much as your muscles. Few people are as strong as Captain Marvel.
  10. Weight 125 lbs. (56.75kg) Do-able. [] Awkwardness especially up flight of stairs without damaging finish. Not do-able. [:S] Verdict: Tall tale enhanced story. [bs]
  11. Mr. Mallette you are offering an entirely different rationale, to wit, no book should ever be published of reminiscences of friends, especially honorable Southern friends. The argument I addressed was "many of the conversations were in confidence and the line between that and friends was a little blurry." To address your rationale (or excuse), I would call your attention to the genre known as BIOGRAPHY. I wonder how many biographies have been written about honorable Southern gentlemen? I wonder if even one of said biographies does not include reminiscences of friends and amusing anecdotes.
  12. Like I said, seriously underpowering a speaker is going to result in disappointment. "Bass is kind of shy" I bet that was the understatement of the week!!! Any set-up that undermines the bass frequencies is by default going to enhance the other frequencies to your ears because what else do they have to focus on?
  13. Oh gimme a break!!! Sheeesh!!! You don't think any intelligent guy could figure out the difference between some personal problem that's nobody's business and a funny story??? You're going to have to argue a LOT better than that to convince anyone with more than a room temperature IQ.
  14. Thanks, Giovanni. I'd sure like to hear the Dark Knight through that system with an acoustically transparent screen for the mids and highs.
  15. I'd play them in the order they were originally purchased and that way you could relive the original owner's experience as he journeyed through jazz. The last jazz collection I bought was from a woman in a nursing home. You got to figure jazz bought new in about 1956, maybe at age 20 or 30 back then, and that was 50+ years ago, nursing home or even death is not unusual. Your collection from 1970s 1980s but classic jazz from 1950s.
  16. Smoothness will be improved once you dust the bottoms. Assuming you're going to dust them???? Instead of risers for your chair legs, R U going to saw some of the length off?
  17. Been there done that. Believe you me, better to look at than to actually have a relationship with. Skinny is great with the right clothes covering up not so great without. Surgically enhanced . . . YECCCCCHH! Attitude . . . -10. Aren't I special? Personality . . . 0. Bored looks. Bragging rights . . . +10 but that's all you have and what's that worth actually?
  18. I always chuckle quietly to myself when I see people call anyone who challenges their illogic a troll. It must be a lot easier than answering questions intelligently. The 3-way Jubilee is NO COMPROMISE as a particular individual told me privately. The identity of this individual is not going to be revealed by me other than to say you might be a little surprised if you knew the identity!!! It does sound to me like the MCM is more promising and less controversial by a long shot. I do not think the Jubilee warrants any more of my time.
  19. No that is one thing I am not is a complainer. To answer your question I was informed that the 3-way version is NO COMPROMISE! The 2-way is a compromise to fit in a house room easier, not as tall.
  20. You are seriously underpowering those puppies, Jf !!! Try hooking them up to some old receiver you got around the house or that you can borrow and see if they don't come alive! You can dump 100 watts into them safely according to the manufacturer. [li] Copied from Klipsch.com: power handling 100 watts maximum continuous (500 watts peak) sensitivity 99dB @ 1watt/1meter max acoustic output 119dB SPL
  21. I was just teasing you. I know people have all kinds of likes and dislikes. I'm glad so many people don't like what I like or I'd never be able to find anything used.
  22. The Beatles were a popular music group in the 1960s from Liverpool, England. They caused untold damage to impressionable youths by promoting the use of marijuana and LSD. Ironically, Paul McCartney is NOT dead. Ringo Starr contemplated suicide but shaved his head instead. John Lennon was murdered in 1980. George Harrison died of brain cancer in 2001.
  23. This is something I did not know that La Scala was for theatre and commercial systems, NOT HOME. I wonder when PWK decided to sell them for home systems?
