Current AudiogoN Bluebook: Klipsch Epic CF-2 Introduced: 1995 Category: Speakers > Full range Retail Price: $1,500.00/Pair Agon miniAverage Private Party Trade-In $575.83 $623.34 $466.42 Rated 5 out of 5 stars CF2 Speakers . stunning ! Submitted 1 year ago Verified Reviewer I have a pair of the original CF2's ... I have a pair of Quartets , KG4's and. AR3 A's Boston A100's and the l8st go's on. Powered by a factory spec Marantz2270 and Adcom GFA 545 ? drawing a blank. The CF2's are my favorite . they just sound right ! The Quartets and AR3 a's are not far behind. . all are recaped and original components . I listen to jazz , some jazz funk , a little classical and some classic rock . The CF2 is the easy winner and the AR3's are a close second . All outstanding speakers ..but my ears desire the CF2 ... several huests that are also home audio fans have taged the CF2 as having an edge . If i had to sell them all and keep the pair that gave me the most listening pleasure .The Klipsch CF2 would be the keeper. Rated 5 out of 5 stars Still Crankin' My wife bought these for me for my birthday in 1994. Since then we've moved three time and during the last move one of them was dropped on a tile floor. I had no way to test it as all of the other components were already packed. By the time I set them up again, no one could tell which one was dropped, not even me. Luckily it was dropped flat on its back so there is no cosmetic dammage as well. I drive them with a 2-channel Rotel integrated amp that pushes only 65 watts/channel and they sound great. They can still rattle the walls. Dynamic range, soundstage, and coloration are all excellent.
  5. Another very cool plasma device is the Lightning 2000 with Xenon gas in a cylindrical sleeve to force the lightning bolts up against the outside glass. Bright White Lightning in a Bottle!
  6. Looks like a Liquisplode made by Rank in the UK. I installed a bunch in discos in the late 1970's.

  8. Thanks! Klipsch Parts recommended K-1062-EV, in stock for $102.04 shipped. My original is K-1021-KN neodymium, so that's what I prefer for acoustic compatibility, but those are unobtanium... The CF2 cabinets are nice so I would hate to part them out!
  9. Hi Guys - All I really need is one woofer to replace a blown CF2 woofer so I can sell them fully operational. Is the KLF-C7 driver the same as CF2/KV4? I have PayPal... Thanks, Steve
  10. I'm also looking for a KV-4. Posted an ad here last month, no joy. Steve in Minneapolis.
  11. Whoops! Price is $1977. Retail in 1977 was $998, inflates to over $4000 today! So, they're now half the new price!
  12. Finest example of 2-way audio engineering! 802-8G ALNICO Tangerine on 32B 90° bent horn. Dispersion widens as frequency goes up! 110° at 16 kHz, original WE monitor horn design! ALTEC VOTT A8, 9849 Studio Monitor, 1221 Stage Monitor all use this amazing bent horn. 12" woofer is a cast-basket foam surround 414 variant with lower system resonance, refoamed in 2015 at Midwest Speaker Repair in Roseville, MN.
  13. Start with my oak CF-2's in Minneapolis?
  14. Invert lower KG4 to place horns at seated ear level for direct HF and near ceiling where sprayed HF bounces off ceiling, widening listening area to the entire room. FOUR stacked 8" are a LINE ARRAY, doubling the H dispersion, halving the V. Do the MATH.
  15. Anybody with one OEM 8" Neo/Poly woofer from a CF-2 or KV-4? K-1029-KN, K-1062-EV, K-1035-KN might be acceptable too. I have a nice oak pair of CF-2's with one open woofer. Price + shipping to Minneapolis 55424? Thanks guys!
  16. Hello iaRIVR - greetings from across the river in Edina! I've been enjoying 4 stacked KG4's for years! Difficult 2Ω load, I use ADCOM. Stacking widens horizontal, narrows vertical. Mutual damping, +3dB stacking gain, lower distortion, less gain compression. Amazing, 4X the performance for 2X the price. Let me know when you would like to recalibrate your ears! I would attach photos, but the server chokes.
  17. 50+ years in Audio, this was one sweet deal! Everybody was smiling. I have been very lucky, and I love paying it back! All about the MUSIC!
  18. Sold to a budding audiophile, upgrading from KG4's, which he sold to his girlfriend. Wise young man!
  19. Two Klipsch RF-3 dual 8" + two RS-3 surrounds + one RC-3 = $600 in Minneapolis! I got lucky! Gridlocked here, no room for these - come & get them! $600 for ALL. Major improvement in articulation over my stacked KG4's - amazing musicality!
  20. I was wondering the same thing! Terminal to tinsel is OK, maybe you're right! Hmmm... I could Xacto-knife enough of the poly dustcap off to get my Weller 8200 and some 60/40 onto the tinsel/VC solder blob! Nothing to lose! Replacement K-1062-EV is $102.04 per Zach today! Thank you sir!
  21. My blown woofer is a K-1029-KN, p/n 120819 with a June 1 1995 date on the tag. Purchased from original owner. Open circuit, but no rubbing or scraping at all.
