  1. Aaron,the KG1.5,KG2.5,had 6 1/2" woofers.The KG3.5 an 8" woofer,and the KG4.5 had one 10" woofer.The KG5.5 and the KG4.5 both had the K85K Tractrix tweeter.Check E-bay for the 2.5's and .5's.If you want KG5.5's I know of a couple pair that are available. Keith
  2. Bill_L, were there any water stains on the boxes? How about fingerprints in the soot stains.BobG is getting the trench coat on now. Keith

  4. OOPS, Just wanted to say: Why do I get the feeling that we'll be reading Lance's comments in a future Klipsch ad. Keith
  5. WOW! Now I wish I'd kept my big mouth ( see left ) out of this! Who started (restarted)this thread anyway? I would like to make my opinion perfectly clear.I think Klipsch is a class act.I love, as we all do,my Klipsch speakers and think they are an excellant value.Throw in the great Tech Support that seems to always be available and you have a Company that is HIGHLY unusual in this day and time. I would like to apologize to tblasing for using his EXAMPLE inapproapiately to express my opinion.tblasing,I'm authorizing you to use my grand theft example in a manner in which I did not mean it to be used. As far as my local dealer is concerned I have spent $3000 there in the last couple months with a $395 C7 purchase from an internet "dealer".What chafs my butt is the fact that I COULD buy that C7 from an internet seller.Like holding candy in front of a kid.If I may borrow BobG's trench coat for a moment I'll bet I could find out via one serial number where speakers are coming from.Given the choice I bought the $395 C7 instead of the $600 Dealer C7. BTW, my local dealer discounts speakers routinely.I understand the Authorized Internet Dealer problem perfectly well.Lets say Klipsch authorized five dealers in this country to sell Klipsch discounted over the Internet.Rather than buy locally I personally would order over the Internet at the 35%-50% discount,as per my C7,and leave my good buddy Todd high and dry.We would not be buddies anymore.Shortly I would have the same problem GhostTX has because Todd would be standing in the unemployment line wearing his Klipsch t-shirt.Then I would gripe because I could not hear speakers locally before buying, and would go and buy Bloze. I don't what the answer is.I do know that I need the option of HEARING speakers before buying them and I cannot say for certain that I would pay MSRP for Klipsch speakers at my local dealer.I will and have paid MSRP less 35%-50% with no warranty(I like living on the edge).Just wish boa12 would win that lottery thig-a-ma-jig and open a FULLY stocked super Klipsch-o-Rama and dicount heavily. Keith Oh yeah,Doug.Found one of those sticky wickets stuck to the bottom of my shoe this morning.Think it came out of that non-authorized dealer box.LOOK OUT! 6. Bluesteel, think about something else that will cost less to repair. Keith
  7. Yes I too read the big long free-for-all thread about Internet sales and wisely kept my mouth shut. But what I would like to know is, are there that many fires? I can't help but believe that Klipsch has to have some idea as to how their product ends up in the hands of "unauthorized dealers".Its not like we are talking about just a few items or there wouldn't be all the hoopla involved.I am not endorsing Internet purchasing or discouraging it either.I understand and support my local Dealer (too much here lately).I also am not such a tightwad that I will forego a warranty to save $50.I am just kinda tired of reading how an Internet seller is somehow selling "B Goods" or "Gray" goods. I'm sure that many of us know for a fact that Internet sellers do in fact sell NEW IN BOX items with no hint of water marks or soot marks on the packages.Where do they come from?Where do these guys get these products?Did Klipsch make any money from these products or were they stolen? I'm having a hard time understanding how such large quantities of product could get into the hands of Internet sellers with no way to detect same.Shoulda kept my mouth shut. Keith
  8. myram,on 03-22-95 I bought a Russound SDB-2 120 speaker switch box that has connections for two amps or recievers and two speaker pairs, with volume control for each speaker pair.I paid $183 total.I used it to control two amps and one pair of speakers. It is a handsome and well built piece. It measures 9"W X 5 1/2"D X 2 1/2"H.It weighs 4 lbs. Accepts wire up to 12ga.Power rating 60 watts RMS,150 watts average,275 watts peak(as per manual)It has impedance protection:impedance at amplifier 8 ohms minimum with 4 ohm speakers.10 step volume control.Uses transformers(no power resistors).I used it for several years and it has sat in my closet in the box with all original packing and manuals. It works well in a situation as you describe. If you want one and cannot find one send me a private message and I will consider selling mine.I used it to send a signal to "surround backs", as they call them now, either "stereo" for music or surround for HT.Worked great.Although I believe I read a claim somewhere of "sonic transparency" I did notice a slight drop in SPL (never checked w/the RS meter) but it was minimal.Hope this helps you. Keith
  9. Wyatt, did you get the private message? Keith
  10. MeElk,save yourself time and money.Get a KLFC7. Keith
  11. boa12, just wondering why the sudden change from Reference to Legends?Remember my wifely comments? Keith P.S.- will that Sony drive those 30's?
  12. tblasing, check out the Parasound HCA-1201A Limited Edition mono block amps at www.audioadvisor.com for $499.95 a pair.Cool. IMO, a better choice would be something like the Acurus 125X5.Check em out at www.mondialdesigns.com .Click Acurus. If you decide to go with the Acurus, send me a private message. Keith
  13. bklyn8, My opinion is that JDMc has offered to you some valuable advice. I finally learned for myself the secret to avoiding UPS damage.Simply don't ship via UPS.Of course this is only my opinion, based on my previous experience using UPS.Your damage may vary.I could be wrong. Keith
  14. GhostTX, send me a private message before you buy.I have a good source for hard to find Klipsch.Your buddy, Keith
  15. GhostTX, seems when you try to help others enjoy a hobby that you enjoy yourself so much,a person sometimes gets his/her butt in a bind. But after a moments thought, frankly my dear,I don't give a damn.So on we go.To answer your question with all the knowledge and past experience that I have with this addiction and your limited budget I would recommend to you, with the limited info you have provided about your tastes, room size, etc.that you check E-Bay under Klipsch speakers and note the KG2.5's there. These speakers won high reviews back in 1994? when they were introduced. Also listed on E-Bay are a pair of Klipsch KG1.5's and a Klipsch SW8II subwoofer. The sub of course is not going to shake the walls but will do an admirable job for the price.Put it in a corner.Set the crossover at about 60dB.If you do a search you will see that the matching center,KV1,sells for usually around $85-90 dallars on E-Bay.Wait around and shortly the KV1 or KV2 will magically appear for sale on E-Bay.Or you could,if desparate, send me a private message and I can tell you where to find a KV2.For the investment you will not find (IMO) a better sounding high quality speaker combination than this for your money. They will work well with your reciever and play loud. And when you get ready to upgrade you should be able to get a decent return on your investment. You do the homework. But do it quickly. And may the force be with you. Keith
  16. PhilH, no, no liquidation sale here.Just offering examples.Might sell some though. No, not going to sell right now.I ought to though.Boy,I sure hate to sell any of my speakers. Is something wrong with me? Probably just need to buy more Klipsch speakers.I'll feel better then.Yeah, thats the ticket. Keith
  17. LuvnKlipsch, don't have a sub recommendation but wondering what you think of the 3801.Does it provide plenty of bass with the 20's? And have you had another brand reciever to offer a comparision? Keith
  18. OhYeah, Cherry CF4's still available. Keith
  19. BTW, saw a pair of black Epic CF3's the other day for $499 ea.Dealer. Keith
  20. Ghost, what exactly are you looking for in the $500 setup? Is speaker size a consideration? There is a lot out there for $500 if you know where to look.Let me know.I love a challenge. Keith
  21. GTX, another example would be that you could buy a couple Klipsch KSP300's in the exotic West African Mahogany from me and save hundreds on a subwoofer for say slightly MORE than $500. Keith
  22. GTX, another fine example would be that you could buy my DCM TimeFrame 400's with DCM CX center for say $275. Keith
  23. GTX, another example would be that you could buy my KG5.5's in beautiful Black Satin for $500. Keith
