  1. I run 5 RF-7II'S an SVS pb13 ultra and 6 KSP-S6 surrounds I have the flagship RX-Z11 Yamaha and I have the same issue no matter what I do. The movies are amazing when songs play but regular stereo or pure direct is no where near as tight or full, and I have tried everything with this amp. It sounds good just not as good as it should so I have to say that it is the Yamaha especially since it sounds so much better on movie soundtracks. Just my opinion.
  2. Have you done a side by side between Klipschorns and the Palladium line? If so what are your impressions?
  3. Sacd's seem to smooth out the music while at the same time giving more detail especially when the music gets complicated with several instruments. What kind of difference did you see from sending your mcintosh to the upgrade company and what exactly do they do? I have a MVP 871 going through a Mcintosh c33 to a McIntosh mc2255 feeding Klipschorns. I listen in two channel only, I also find my DVD audio two track are better than the sacd so far but I only have a few of each as of yet.
  4. I also listen in 2-channel can't wait to here it.
  5. Thank you I appreciate the feedback.
  6. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of this unit? I am considering it as my cd dvd-audio and sacd player for my 2 channel system with my other McIntosh gear and my Klipschorns. Do not need it for DVD but I can get one fairly cheap and the audio side looks pretty impressive.
  7. How could it not be about music? We share a common interest in Klipsch gear but it is all about the sound (music).
  8. Does anyone know if there is any benefit to playing dvd-a or sacd on a 2 channel system. The reason I ask is I am looking to upgrade my cd player that is dedicated to my two channel setup and it will be capable of playing both of these formats also.
  9. Do not let them get to you. Obviously listening to something through your computer cannot tell you anything, but I understand also, for there are no places close by for me either. That being said we have to sometimes buy on reputation and opinion as our only (realistic) option. Thus we come to places such as forums like this hoping for guidance not lectures or ridicule. I am not sure what your expectations are but the system you are putting together would please most for home theater. I wish you the best and let us know what you think of your new system when it arrives.
  10. I have the ksp-s6 for rear surround and front presence and they are a great speaker. They should work well with your KLF 30 and C 7 setup.
  11. yes I now have it hooked through the tape loop and no issues yet.
  12. All ten are reasons I miss vinyl. I am deciding on spending money on a Linn Sondek lp12 or a better cd player for my klipschorns and McIntosh gear. I live in nowhere USA so no record stores to browse and I regretably do not have my old album collection anymore (moved too many times).
  13. It sound better/different. Thats better
  14. Personal preferences: Plays the music as true as it is recorded.
  15. All valid points but I was hoping for something a little more technical.
  16. Why vinyl over cd or other formats?
  17. What are the best cd players out there? How about a McIntosh Mcd-301.
  18. Well, unit sounded good. left the stereo on for about a half hour after last album ended and when I got around to shutting it of I had a "loud" popping sound to the speakers, turned it back on, same thing (hate that sound). Removed device, can only conclude it was the culprit. Too bad.
  19. Yes. make sure everything is turned off, hook negative to negative (black), positive to positive (red). and enjoy.
  20. Thank you I was not sure if there was a reason I should not hook it up between my c-33 and my mc-2255 but it seems to work well this way. I can't believe it but it actually does sound better was a little concerned about adding anything to this system (was included as a bonus to my k-horns and McIntosh purchase) but it really does a good job and sounds fantastic. Just keeps getting better. I know there are better systems out there but I can at least rest in the fact that I have never heard anything this good before.so clear and real, I love it. (second week with the new to me gear).
  21. Is there any one out there with experience with these. I am a little confused it says to hook it up to my tape loop when it seems I should hook it between pre-amp out and my input at my amp. Any help and feedback on these units in general would be greatly appreciated.
