  1. Just last week a client gave me a Sansui 2000x. She said it had only been used at christmas time for the last 20 years. Hooked it to the khorns in the master bedroom with an oppo 971. Man it sounds great. Gives taking a shower a whole new meaning. Darrell
  2. I picked up a Phillips 312 turntable at one of my local flea markets for 3 bucks. It dosen't have the slide-in head shell and they are like hens teeth. Can the tone arm on this table be replaced? There are alot of local flea markets and thrift stores in my area, all with large selections of vinyl. Thought it might be fun to tinker with. Darrell
  3. edited my earlier post. i think this will work.
  4. I have a 90 degree attachment for my drill. I will drill holes in the removable plate, reinstall it and line them up via the plate.
  5. jorjen, THANKS, just what i was looking for. did you use any epoxy on the outer threads when you installed them. i guess i'm just being mr. overkill. Big D
  6. jwc, the removable plate is 1 inch thick, one piece of 3/4 ply and a 1/4 ply to keep the woofer from bottoming out. i;m using k-31's that are from klf-30's. they came with the decorative plastic rings. i removed the rings and replaced them with a single gasket. i have ordered additional gaskets to have 2 layers. removing the plates will add some additional rear volume. i could use wood screws but i'm just worried they will loosen up over time. 7. Hi All, I need some opinions. When I built my jubs several years ago, I mounted my woofers on a removable board to make installation easier(based on the way khorn woofers were mounted years ago). After looking at the pics from the factory build I decided to remove the board and mount the woofers directly to the motorboard. Here's my issue... During my build I didn't install T-Nuts(to hold the woofers) and I don't really want to use wood screws. I'm looking for some alternative ways to mount the woofers to the motorboard. After going thru Lowe's and Home Depot for inspiration, this is all I could come up with.
  8. Love my xpa-3. It's powering my front section. Adding an xpa-2 soon.
  9. Hi Tom, Hope you and yours are doing well. BigD
  10. Hi All, This may be a stupid question, so here goes..... I just aquired a pair of JBL 2445j (16 ohm) drivers. Can I replace the 16 ohm diaphrams with 8 ohm diaphrams and get 8 ohm operation without any adverse effects? Thanks BigD
  11. I would use the xpa-2 on the mains and the xpa-5 on the center, sides and rears. The xpa-2 is very robust. I just purchased an xpa-3 to start my Emotiva journey. The xpa-2 is in my future. Happy listening! BigD
  12. Just picked an emotiva xpa-3. couldn't resist. on sale until the 21st.
  13. I built a removable top and a little larger bottom.
  14. Hi All, Well I've listened to my jub clones for a few years now and recently got the bug to start tweeking a few different things. Aquired a pair of P-audio 750's and was wondering if anyone(right off the top of your head) knows the price of the K-402 horns. What a hobby, just can't leave well enough alone. Darrell
  15. Way to go wuzzer. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about six months. I had no choice but to make a change. Dropped the sodas and sugar, went to 5 small meals a day. Walk around the block every afternoon after work. It has really made a difference. Went from 252 down to 222 so far and my numbers are looking real good now. It was hard for me to believe that such small changes could make such a big difference. To all trying to loose a few pounds, BEST OF LUCK You can do it. Not so Big D
  16. Hi Tom, Hope your clan is doing well. It always feels like home when I come here. Thanks for the responses. Big D
  17. Hi all, It's been awhile. Hope everyone is doing well. It's been so long, I had to create a new account. Had major trouble logging in with the old password. I have a quick question. I need to replace a 3.5uf cap in an old network. Can I use a 2.0uf and a1.5uf in parallel in it's place. I have the two caps already and would like to use them if possible. The 3.5 is 150v and the other 2 are 250v. Is this a problem. Thanks Big D
