c'mon, i know someone can help me out. please...

I am interested in selling my Klipsch 4.1's and getting seperate components for a 2.1 audio system. I do not know what receiver I should get, nor do I know what speakers or sub to get either. The receiver will be hooked up to my computer, so I can use them as my computer speakers too. Also, I would preferably like a receiver with more than 2 speaker outputs because I will expand to 4 once I get the money. For the moment, I would like bookshelf speakers with a responsive, powerful sub. Ideally, the price for 1 receiver, 2 bookshelves, and 1 sub should be under $600. I know that's a push, but I don't have much money to break on audio right now. If someone really recommends me to wait a little bit more, I will, then I'll have quite a bit more money from a summer job. Thanks to those who can help, *tsx

Thanks a lot guys! Especially DanF... I tried the pin thing and it worked, well, to some extent. It doesn't look perfectly round any more, but that's not possible, it's just that I'm picky. It's a lot better than before though. I'm so glad there's so many of you smart ones around

Could i buy two sets of 4.1s for 8.1?

Hell, if I could afford a room of that size, I would just shell out the money for a full-blown Klipsch HT system... -
Is there a way to trade the 4.1s in for 5.1
asudhir replied to mad3d's topic in Personal Music Systems
Whoa, that's a lot of Klipsch sets in one house! Do you have the computer speakers each at seperate computers in the house, or are the two computer speaks bundled together for one nice Klipsch computer sound system? -
Justin, thanks soooo much! Hope to hear from you I had my speaker guard off and I had lots of books and stuff stacked on my table right in front of my speaker for one evening. I moved some stuff around, and I guess one of the books' corner in the stack indented the bubble.

Hi, you know the little bubble-like things that are at the center of the woofers on the 4.1 speakers? Well, I have one speaker that is dented a little there, and I can't figure out how to "pull" the bubble back out so it it round again. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Justin, you own a 4.1, right? -

wegland, i went to www.ikea.com and went to the US site. i could not find anything pertaining to speaker stands, or speakers for that matter. did you purchase them online or at a local store? ------------------ *zen This message has been edited by asudhir on 06-15-2001 at 10:25 AM -
Will Klipsch offer a trade up program for the 5.1s?

Oh, ok, thanks for informing me Amy. You always do a great job! I guess I'll just hafta pretend I didn't know that there is a 5.1 set. ------------------ *zen

BUMP! I know at least one of you have an answer! *zen -
I know the 5.1's aren't even out yet, but I am in anticipation for a 4.1 to 5.1 upgrade package. I just bought my 4.1's in March, and it's torture to see the new 5.1's come out, and me not be able to do anything about it. So Amy, if you read this, please make sure that Klipsch hears that some of us (I'm sure) want an upgrade package. Thanks Amy! *zen

In the past, I remember a few people saying that they stopped by their local RadioShack and found satellite stands that perfectly match the 2.1 and 4.1 satellites. Well now I am looking for stands for my rear 4.1 satellites, and I know that the RB-1 Quintet stands don't exactly fit nicely with the 2.1 and 4.1 satellites. If anyone could give me the RadioShack product number or name of the RadioShack stands, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance. *zen "ROCK ON!" -TheRocker

Speaker Cones indented -- What do I do?
asudhir replied to asudhir's topic in Personal Music Systems
That's what I thought. I'll try something like that and see if it works. *zen -
I recently accidentally dented the small protruding bubble cone on one of my Klipsch satellites, and I don't know what to do. They are not extremely damaged, but the bubble at the center of the speaker is indented a little. The satellite still sounds really good, but I know it doesn't sound as good as it would if it weren't damaged. Is there any way to fix the indentation? I opened the satellite itself and there's no way I can "push it back" from the other side of the speaker. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. *zen

Nice job man. What program are you using? *zen

You can go to: http://free.prohosting.com There you can get 50megs of storage space, and FTP account to upload the avi. It has banner ads or pop-up ads, your choice. I suggest it greatly, fast servers, I use it a lot. *zen

I'm really sure that the wattage of the Pro's is 400 watts is the max dynamic output. I don't believe that the system puts out 400 watts RMS because when I play the speakers full volume, it's not 400 watts, I can tell. Anyways, do you think that the 4.1 sub has 160 watts RMS? No way, even the KSW-10 has only 55 watts RMS, so I'm guessing the Pro's sub has about 40-50 watts RMS. When they say 400 watts they mean amplifier max output, but that's not RMS, I have not seen anywhere where it says 400 watts RMS. *zen

Isn't that amazing, that one doesn't work either. Well I figured out that if I put the image on a page, it'll load fine, so go to this page and the image is on it: http://blake.prohosting.com/asudhir/index.html I can't believe I went through all this for one stupid pic...oh well. *zen

Ah, crap, that link I posted my last post doesn't work either. I think I finally found a web host that doesn't block incoming image requests. Here's the one that I think works: http://asudhir.50megs.com/pmlogo1.jpg *zen
