  1. Well I have enjoyed my KG-4's alot in my home theater but the old lady want's to put up bookshelves in there current location so to the bedroom they must go. I am trying to decide on replacement speakers (bookshelf type) to replace them. The only requirements are that they must not weigh more than 30lbs each and I will have to mount them on the wall. I was wondering how a set of RB-81's might sound in my current setup. Just looking for some good recommendations from you guys thanks.
  2. The rsx systems are nice and already have adjustable wall mounts on them same goes for the quintet system.
  3. Another picture with doors on there is two of these speakers
  4. Someone on craigslist has these for sale at 50 bucks a piece said they belonged to there father and he passed away. I can't find anything about them and they said there is no names, brands, or serial/model numbers on them anywhere.
  5. It is not so much the receiver itself but the DAC and the Amplifier contained within the receiver that makes the huge difference. Everyones tastes are different I myself prefer solid state amps for woofers because the punchy bass it provides and tube amps for the amazing clarity and natural sound it puts out of the mids and highs. The question is does it make a difference to you? I suggest going to multiple a/v stores (not best buy) and listen to each of the different receivers to find out if your missing out on something.

    6.1?

Okay so currently my system is a 5.1 with KG-4's as mains, kg 2.5v as a center, and KG 1.5's as rears. My plan is to go 7.1 at some point and possibly use dipoles just don't want to spend the money right now. However I have my Quintet center channel from my last system and was wondering if it would be worth it at all to set it as a rear center?
  7. Be prepared to buy a large subwoofer to deliver the bass your gonna need for that room
  8. Well i thought it was 2hours it was actually 3 1/2 each way but yeah not too bad I had drive 45 mins each way to work and had to that morning so if I had done it on a saturday it probably wouldn't have seemed so bad but still well worth it in the end.
  9. I have been very impressed by the performance of my pioneer elite. I replaced a 70's stereo marantz receiver (that is now in my garage) and noticed my KG-4s were brought to life once again. It was almost as if they were different speakers entirely hearing much clearer highs and feeling lows that weren't there before.
  10. I am not really worried about it. The guy was probably about in his early 70's and just wanted the space back in his garage. Nothing seemed out of place or fishy just an old farmer who's priorities are making sure his tractors are running and that his cattle are healthy.
  11. Well I did manage to make it there and back in one piece. I am very sastified with the trip I did receive the following for my $100. Klipsch kp-110 theater surround speakers JVC Dual Cassette Deck with Dobly HX ATA 8 Outlet Power Line Conditioner with rack illumination Sony DE335 80x5 Dolby Pro Logic Receiver Rolls Mic/Source Mixer Rack/Cabinet On wheels 2 x 50 Foot monster cable speaker wires So I'm very happy with the outcome I just do not want to drive that distance for at least another year.
  12. Well I've set up a time to meet the guy at this house tomorrow afternoon and a friend will be coming along with me so I guess we will see how it goes.
  13. What do you mean by check local laws?
  14. I really like ripstation micro it makes things alot faster and simpler. It is all automated so all you do is pop in a disc it downloads album information begins ripping automatically and ejects when its finished then you just keep inserting discs for it to continue.
  15. I built a server that has 2TB of data storage in a raid 0 configuration for about $600. That is plenty of music storage for me.
  16. I have a server dedicated for storing all my music photos and videos. I use a program called firefly which transcodes all my flac files to wav to all my machines with itunes and then I use tversity to do the same thing to send the flac to my ps3. So far is working very well.
  17. Personally I would choose the B2's your going to have your rear channels conflicting with each other if you don't use direct radiating speakers for the back wall.
  18. But seriously if they have to be mounted on the wall I guess go with one of klipschs flat panel LCR systems with smaller bookshelfs in the back
  19. Well what worked for me is I told my wife if she made an exception on having floorstanding speakers I would let her buy the 600 dollar purse she has wanted.
  20. RF-82 Floorstanding Speakers RB-51 Bookshelf Speakers RC-52 Center Channel Speaker RW-10D Subwoofer Pioneer Elite Receiver Playstation 3 There ya go complete reference home theater system with decent receiver and blu ray player still under your budget and will sound incredible
  21. Well it seems he just moved into the house and he bought the house with stuff leftover in it from previous owner. He has sent me pictures showing the displays come on sony receiver, the cassette deck, power distribution unit and mic mixer. He claims he did plug the speakers into the receiver and turn on the tuner and sound came out of both of them. It also includes a audio equipment rack that is on wheels.
  22. On craiglist is a ad for the following equipment Klipsch Professional Speakers KP-110-B PD8L Conditioned Power Distrubution Rack Illuminator ROLLS Mic/Source Mixer (RM67) JVC TD-W354 Double Cassette Deck (DDRP Dynamics Detection Recording Processor) Sony Audio/Visual Control Center (Digital Cinema Sound Processing) Seller claims to not have any knowledge about the equipment other than what is written on them and wants to sell everything for $100 I will have to drive 2 hours each way to pick up the equipment. What do ya think?
  23. I would not recommend using Intel graphics to connect your pc to your tv via hdmi. If you can get yourself an ati 4550 pci express video card one can be bought from newegg.com for around 50 dollars shipped and it will handle all of the decoding of the HD video for you plus supports 7.1 sound output through the hdmi as well.
