  1. You did well....enjoy.... KG 5.5's were one of my favorites from my younger days.....and you are correct they were great up to a point .....until they blew all the stuff off the coffee table...they were the first set of large tower speakers I bought .....sold them to get into reference series for a while

    Enjoy the Heresy's

If you were trying to get better sound for stereo, add something 2 channel (like the integrated amp you just mentioned) and throw an amp switch on the speakers. This way you can bounce between 2 channel and home theater easily and get the benefits of both.

    +1 to that

  3. Wow,

I thought it was a great deal.......you got to give it time.....some of us need to sell some of our S..t....in order to buy your S..t.... I thought about it the other day....to sell both my Sansui sets to buy something more modern......You are selling a great setup....keep it out there and keep your options open

I'm glad you like the Integra....I still have my 80.3....I like it but.... because of all the issues with Onkyo/Integra  I had to move on to the Anthem..... Don't get me wrong Integra does stand behind everything they sell....getting the HDMI boards replaced on both my 80.3 and my 40.1 was as painless as it could possibly be....only took 3 days for each.

I thought Integra was better than the Denon I had before it.....even though there was a change in technology....The AVR 3805...never did like it.....gave it away

    Enjoy,

  5. I have had a AVM 60 for quite a while......Love it.....Came from a Integra 80.3...The Anthem is probably one of my best purchases ever.

Don't get me wrong if you want a bunch a different sound formats ....like concert hall and all that....which my 80.3 had (never used it).....If you want to calibrate multiple subs separate.......look else where..... I like having 4 different profiles....that I can switch from one to another.  If you plan on using it for both movies and 2 channel....it the one to have

The Anthem also DOES NOT do any video processing.....It's all about the sound...In that system ...I run Chorus II's fronts... Academy center... Quartets sides... and Forte II's for my rears ....my sub is a PSA  V1800.

My second choice would be the Emotive.....I did hear the Emotive at Axpona this year....I was impressed

I really appreciate the Chorus II. I will never part with them. After Dean replaced the network components they were so good I was disappointed in the stock design. The grill was better build quality than the networks.

If I could find both k Horns and LS II close to home I would probably sell off the Belle's and go with LS II just for simplicity of room placement.

I always wanted to try a set of Deans networks.... I have one set that I replaced the originals with Bobs crossovers....I think I did those in 2011....My second set I replaced the caps with one of Bob's upgrade kits a couple years ago...I did go to titanium tweeter diaphragms on both....both have stock mid range diaphragms...Love them both...Don't get me wrong.... I do go to a lot of audio demo's and have heard speakers that do sound as good if not better....but most of the time it's for 10's of thousands of dollars...It amazing  how something so old can still to me sound so good. But then again.....that's why we hang out here

Thanks!  I have a special place in my heart for Chorus II's also. So until they make Chorus III's (and I'm not holding my breath)...

+ 1 to that....I have about $ 1800.00 in the 2 pair of Chorus II's I have...To get into a pair of Forte III's would cost close to double that...I was already to pull the trigger...

Just couldn't say good bye to the Chorus II's

What we need is a limited run of Chorus lll in Pecan but  African walnut would work.

It should peel off without much effort. My son has RS-3's and peeled off the vinyl. He left them like that as he likes the raw look. Personally I'd do them with Duratex if they were mine.

@WakeJunkie converted a white pair to black but I don't know if he just painted over them or removed the vinyl. @Youthman probably knows since he gave them to him

+ 1 to everything this guy said......been there done that...   painting ....that is
