  3. Up for sale are a pair of amazing La Scala industrial Splits. They are upgraded to the hilt. Fully braced cabinet using Volti kit, with grills covered in Klispch cloth. Full rewired Converted to 2way operation using fastlane audio Eliptrac 400 and Massive Monster B&C DE750... (Think big and go bigger). Crossovers are ALK AP12-500s with Orig K43s doing the heavy lifting. This are lighting fast and don’t fall down the way la scala's can when pushed. Selling for parts cost. If they don’t sell Ill turn them into my garage speakers with a Kenzie amp :-). Asking $2400 and pretty firm on it. I will assist in shipping if customer desires. I can write paragraphs about the sound but its not my nature. These sound wonderful. I had to rebalance the network when Dave Braced them for me as the Bass output increase so much. The Bass reproduction remains fast but is much fuller sounding than any la scala Ive heard... Sounding like a sub is well intergrated. The Eliptrac 400 and B&C DE750 create a sound stage stories large. Want scale... this has it in spades. Play a well recorded mix and youll be able to place the instruments in air. Justin 323-868-9722 Thanks

  9. Have not done a post yet, but Ampsandsound is going to THE show. If anyone is around Id love to shake your hands and put a face to friends on the forum.
  10. The horn on top is a demo/ prototype Dave made for me long ago. It's pretty bad ***. I've used it a few times as a tweeter, larger sound stage, not sure any better but; was fun. I just have one of those horns but will gladly include or pass on to the next fan.
  11. Selling off my newly built Klipsch style Cornscalas. All parts are new. Woofers are Eminence, Horns are sourced from fastlaneaudio, and the mid range is the famous Klipsch K55. Crossovers are ALK. These are one of the finest cornwall examples that exist. Freq response from 44hz-22khz, 98db efficient. I can demo with 100watts or 1watt.... this speaker plays both incredibly. Tophat's face is a satin finish black to blend the horns in with the bass bins finished in walnut. Cabinets are built from Baltic birch. Grill is klipsch cloth. Im listing to make room other projects. Bass bins are 24"x24"x24" Tophats are 20"14"x16" Allowing the topcoat to be rotated to locate the sweet spot with greater ease. Justin 323-868-9722 Asking $2000 No issues with shipping cross the country... would be my 4th pair to go that way.
  12. Mike. You've heard my Dynaco MKIIIs but not any of my lower power amps. I'm completing a Kenzie /darling for personal use that I can bring over for a demo. Or maybe 3 watt monster. High efficiency speakers work really well with low power amps. Many cant believe unless they hear for themselves.
  13. I have a Classic 1 with a Grado Prestige LOMI... wonderful setup. Ive heard the scout, Scout master and Scout 2. I would take any of these over the Aires... It has the wrong arm on it. Im not a lover of VPI arms in general but youll significantly diminish resale without it. If you get the scout... get a counter intuitive from music direct... it will make seting up the azimuth way easier. The stock clap work great. The scout allows for incredibel upgrades... the double pully and changing the patter if you feel like it... Its the entry into the world of VPI. The Aires is close to the top but with wrong arm.
  14. Ive never gotten the chance at a Marantz 8B. I would love to hear though. I build some Dynaco MKIV I loved a great deal too... Id say the MKIV was a wholy different animal compared to the ST70.
  15. Hey guys, thanks for the kind words. Here's some of my thoughts about el84s versus EL 34's. I don't like el34s. I do like 6ca7 which mimics as 6l6 in sonic signature. El84s represent a fantastic tube for Hifi use. Moderate power, quite, can take a beating, lasts a long time and able to be sourced as NOS without a mortgage. My Stereo 15 was built with close colab station from Shannon parks. It's largely a st35 with major enhancements made by me. These include a huge, low dcr power supply with large choke filtering. The amp is cathode biased which is a older approach to regulation and thusly a more classic tube sound. My twist is crazy large power supply and filtering providing for quite operation. The iron used is wound by transcendar on spec for me. It's under rated and performs well enough that the circuit is the limiting factor. I liken the sound to a 6l6 with bass. For those thinking about Amps and needing to be cost contious, triode electronics stereo 35 or better yet stereo 70 are well though solid performing kits. I don't do stereo el34 amp because I think so highly of the stereo 70 kit offered. It's fantastic and will provide 35watts if hard to beat sound. In my mind it's the best el34 based stereo amp. Now in mono blocks there are some other choices ;-).
  16. EH6CA7s are incredible good sounding... more full and similar to 6L6 sounding than el34s
  17. That it is... Ill change the ad shortly to reflect the correction... Its completely a bad *** amp. Neutral sounding. A real show stopper.
  18. We have here a firstwatt F5 from the famous Nelson Pass. . . Pass Labs. This is 25watts per channel of push pull, though I swear it sounds like a single ended SS fire breather. :-). Bench tested and running perfectly. I can't say enough good things about Pass labs designs. $1400 obo Justin 323-868-9722 happy to ship.

  22. Many consider he iron if the st35/ sca35 vastly better than then the st70. There are a ton of uogrades and should be considered. If you can get a running unit for $350 you've done well. Make sure it's complete.
