  1. As you know, the c-7 is a rather heavy speaker. Using the threaded holes as attachment points, I'm not sure. That's a lot of money to have falling on the floor or on top of your television. I use the holes to elevate the rear because mine is sitting on top of my 9 foot entertainment system. Good Luck and let me know how it turns out.
  2. Dougdrake, thanks for the info. If the product will be selling for $900 in the states, they will be 900 pounds in the UK. With today's exchange rate being 1.45, that will be a total of 900 x 1.45 = $1,305. This price doesn't include VAT (value added tax)which is 16 to 17 percent. Kind of expensive for surrounds isn't it? . That's the cost of one of the new RF-7s. If you think that this is expensive you should see how much the English people pay for a gallon of gas. Let's just say that it will take about $70.00 to fill up my mazda 626. I'll continue to montior the bulletin board for reviews of the speakers when the finally come out, if the reviews are good, which they should be, I'll have to order them over the net from someone. I know about the warranty drama, but being an American living in the UK doesn't leave many options. No taxation without representation.
  3. Just curious. I've put off purchasing a set of surround speakers because of the new reference line. Has anyone seen anything regarding the MFSRP of the RS-7s? I've been saving my pennies for these and my wife has signed off on this already-- but she hasn't heard the cost yet. As mentioned in an earlier thread, the RS-7s are supposed to be a better match with the legend series than the S6s. Not much has been said about these but if they are talked up as much as the RF-7s are, I will not be disappointed.
  4. I also have a C-7, it's sitting on top of my entertainment center. Yes, you can purchase the angled banana plugs to connect to your speaker. They are fairly inexpensive. Mine are connected with bare wire for the simple fact, my entertainment system is too heavy to continue moving around. Eventually, when my wife decides to change the living room around, I will run new wire and new connects then.
  5. quote: Originally posted by dcolella: Is there anyware in the UK were I can getyour speakers??? No info of sellers in the UK. Post your question to BobG or Customer Service. I asked this question several months ago and Bob gave me a phone number to the UK Klipsh rep in northern England. He personally came over and trained these individuals. I just threw the number away several days ago because I did not need it anymore. I'm in the UK but I was able to purchase my KLF-30s from one of the American military bases. I Hope this get you well on your way to purchasing a set of Klipsch speakers.
  6. Alperin1, Go to the home theater forum, the last 20 days or so. I had a questions reference waiting for the new reference series rear speakers. The answer that I received from Klipsch is to wait. In fact, the new RS-7 should be a better match for the 30s than the older S6s, these are Klipsch's words not mine. I'm in the same boat as you, I have the 30s and C-7. I waiting to purchase my rears.
  7. I agree that the authorized dealers are charging way too much for their products. Klipsch products are excellent but the difference between an authorized dealer and an internet site is ludicrous. I called two authorized dealers inquiring about a KLF-C7 center speaker, both of them wanted over $600 excluding shipping and handling. I found the same speaker, brand new and in the original box for $445 including shipping. If we were talking a few dollars difference I would go to the authorized dealer. The dealers also know about this policy and they are raking us over the coals, not willing to come off the price any. Since I live in the UK, I was told to go to a dealer here. If I'm complaining about paying the US dealer price I'm definitely not going to pay a higher price in pounds and VAT. I think that we should take a wait and see attitude about this, I'm sure the policy will change.
  8. No steak dinners on the British economy!!!!! Maybe, you can send me some T-Bones and Porterhouses on the company, you are making extra money selling the speakers to the British. I still do not know how you are getting away with this but that's another reply. Ed
  9. Thanks for the info Bob. I will be checking in with the UK rep from time to time, I will not purchase anything from him though because of the dollar to pound ratio, today it's 1.47. They charge the same thing in pounds as the states charge in dollars, I'm american not British. Bob, one last question for you, I've heard that the surrounds from the new reference series will be a better match with my KLF-30s than what you currently have posted on your main page (RS-3s). Please, any input will be greatly appreciated. Ed
  10. Sorry for not including this. I asked the rep if he was referring to the new Reference Line that's due out in the next few months and he said no. He specifically stated that there was a new Legend Line coming out in Sep 01. Maybe, since this product is new to the British he was somewhat excited and confused, we'll see. By the way, I read that the the RS-7 rear speakers will be a better match with the legends than the RS-3s. Do you have any info on this?
  11. I'm living in the UK and I just talked to the rep here. In fact, Klipsch products are new to England just recently. The rep says that they are not carrying any old legend products, KLF-10s,20s,30s and C-7 because the new line is due out in Sep 01. I haven't seen or heard anything on here about the new line, maybe a Klipsch rep can shed some light on this situation. I'm looking for a C-7 (black) to compliment my KLF-30s. If there is a new Legend series coming out, will the two series be compatable? Does anyone know of an on-line site who has the black C-7s? I've checked Brandnamez and they only have the oak.
  12. I've tried to locate a C-7 center to go with my KLF-30s but to no avail. Living in the UK, there aren't any local dealers and no authorized internet dealers. I've heard that the new Reference Line will include a better-matched center than the C-7. Can anyone give me any info on this or should I continue to look for the C-7?
