  1. I work for Entergy, if you live in AR TX MS or LA you are probably familiar with the name. My title is RTA operator Real Time Analyst. My in a nutshell I forecast and mitigate congestion on the Entergy portion of the bulk electric system to continue to serve our industrial customers and 2.7 million residential customers. My domain is 115KV to 500KV backbone of the system. I love what I do it is a continuous learning experience that changes with the weather literally. This year the tornado in AR really provided a great learning opportunity for me as I was working that night and the opportunity for the company to show we will always do our best.
  2. Seti that is a beautiful setup. My first post or idea included shelves for audio components after some measuring. With the space I have the shelves will have to go. My idea is to make a sealed Cab that will house 2 18's . this Cab will support my RC7 and TV so it will have some function other than creating bass. I am going to try and do a mock up using card board to see just how large a 8 cubic foot box will be in my living room. I don't think it will be much larger if at all than my current entertainment stand. Dims for that stand are a couple post up.
  3. Good idea I will look into that. But the general idea will be to use the enclosure as the TV stand. But still a great idea.
  4. OK guys this idea still hanging around. I have made some changes. My new plans are to just make the enclosure no shelves. This is the way my current setup is used. My center channel sits on top of the cab and the TV sits on it. So my dimms are 48 wide 30 Tall (floor to top) and 24 deep, there is some flex with these numbers. I am looking to do two stereo integrity 18's front firing sealed to keep size down LOL. Tell me what you think. I hope this project is completed by Christmas. Scrappy what is the min and max power you should runt he SI 18's?
  5. Bump for Mr Land and a great system at a killer price. And gear I don't need (LOL).
  6. ok guys got home from work this morning and here are the new pictures. As I always I will answer questions to the best of my ability.
  7. link to the stands http://www.sanus.com/en_US/products/speaker-stands/sf26/
  8. Thanks D. I took a look at the bottom of the RB's before work today saw the holes. I will see if they line up with my stands if not it maybe time to get the drill out for the stands.
  9. I am selling my Klipsch KP-201's only because they are to large to work in my new room. They are the Klipsch pro version of the Hersey. As you will be able to see from the pictures these were factory installed with eye bolts. They are two on the top and one on the back so these can be hung in a church fellowship hall or garage. They will be at home sitting on stands or where ever you need them. Sound is true to klipsch in every way. This is a 3 way cab so they will reproduce all frequency well down to 45hz which is a very good response for a small cabinet. These are listed on Little Rock CL for 450 will do 400 for forum members. I will be adding more pictures when I get time to show both cabs and every view for interested parties. Thank you. If anyone can provide more information about this particular model please do I would really like to know. Correction on Freq response: FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 60Hz - 20kHz(+-)4dB (-10dB @ 43Hz) @ 3 meters, 1/2 space anechoic I will be happy to answer any questions. Would prefer to sell to some one local due to shipping cost. Jeff
  10. Guys I got the RB 75's and love the sound. My next question regarding Bookshelves..Does anyone use a particular way to mount or anchor your speakers to the stands? Thanks. The link to the stands I got is above. Thank you all for the feedback.
  11. WAF.... My wife really likes the look of the bookshelf on a stand.
  12. Thanks Tasdom. link to the stands http://www.sanus.com/en_US/products/speaker-stands/sf26/
  13. ok wait I have to change to the SF26 they say they will how a med to large bookshelf.
  14. Ok guys I have a set of RB75 coming. Can we talk about stands. What do you use? I would like to go with steele due to the wieght of these, something like 33 pounds. I really like these but do you think the RB75s are to heavy? http://www.sanus.com/en_US/products/speaker-stands/sf34/ 34inches would be about right that would place the horn well of the foot piece of the bed.
  15. Gentleman thank you for your feedback I hope this offers other members the opportunity to share their experiences with smaller speakers. I have a deep respect for the RB 5 and that still might be the go to. when I am ready. Thanks again
  16. Let’s talk about bookshelves. I am working on a project for our master bedroom that after pondering many options I am sure a pair of bookshelves will be the best option and a sub later. What do you have now? What was your favorite ? I am going to use my MC 252 to run the pair so under power should not be an issue. But I have used RB5’s in the past a liked them but after some reading I see that there are more options than I thought. I am a SVS user so I have looked at the ultra series BS and it’s tempting but kinda pricey a thousand dollars is the top on what I would like to spend. Also there is another one a very neat design the golden ear AON 3 has passive radiators on the sides really cool but know nothing about them. Definitive Technology StudioMonitor 65 I like this one also it is a multi driver design and the specs show 30Hz for the freq response kind of nice. But just wanted to hear about what you guys like and if you would have changed something or learned from any mistakes. As always thank you.
  17. I find that when I use my main system which is everyday it is normally HT(NEWS ,TV ect), But when I am working around the house or just taking some time to really listen to music it is always 2ch. The only time I use HT for music would be if the format called for it. I enjoy an opportunity to let my RF7's do what they do best, play with authority. My reference to taking time to listen is when I get time to dedicate to just turning off the TV and just listening to new or old tunes.
  18. I emailed the seller. waiting on a response.
  19. Bump for Mr. Land Guys I am a big advocate for Anthem amplifiers I have tried a few different brands in my years of playing with home audio. But let me say this first I have never owned an Emotiva amp so I can’t say anything to how great they are or not. Anthem is the brand of amplifier I plan on staying with for the time being. I love the sound, it’s neutral as Bill mentioned you hear the music not the amp. Those of use that like coffee you want to taste coffee not the water. This is the same with Anthem amps, you hear the music not amp. Now for the 1st of my two things I love about these. Little to no heat signature they or mine don’t produce heat. They rarely get above room temp or hard playing 85 degrees on the heat sink. Just to me this says that they are very efficient in how they convert audio signals to music. These are just as solid as my McIntosh MC 252 this amp is the same ways takes a couple hours of playing to warm up. 2nd I really like the look of the amps they are very minimal in the outward appearance; they don’t command attention you hear what they are doing. You aren’t distracted by the amps. These are just my opinions and should be taken as such. But for me I have found a winner with Anthem and Klipsch. Anthem also prides itself on being the best value and performance for the money. Best of luck on the sale Mr.Land!!!!!
  20. Having a Cup of Community Coffee "Dark Roast" Right now. Staring cup number 3 right now. So please excuse type o's and miss spellings. I have tried many types of coffee in the past. I have to I guess start with my grinder and the advantages. I have a Kitchenaid burr grinder that I love. It's loud but does a great job and grinds slow to produce less heat while grinding. My auto coffee pot of choice will always be a Bunn. The velocity brewers are wonderful, simple pour water in and you have a pot of coffee in less than 3 mins. Now for the time to enjoy a cup on off days when you just want to have a seat and enjoy a cup. I use a bodium French Press one of the coolest things I have ever bought. I can brew in my Bunn have a cup then use the same amount of coffee in the french press and the flavor is completely different so much deeper and complex. With french press I use cream or Bailey's. I get all my coffee from Community coffee club. They offer discounts to members and sales throughout the year. I think the reason I like community so much, one I like a dark roast. When you start grinding your own beans you will realize the days of bitter coffee are over. I tend to change from time to time. French roast during the winter French roast is oil shine to it I think the beans have a higher moisture content. They grind different compared to the dark roast. I am sorry I guess I have started to talk to much. The best option to me for a person starting out. Buy a good brewer then a grinder and you are set. If you love the smell of coffee the grinder has the added bonus of filling the entire house with the smell of fresh ground coffee when you are using it.
