  1. Go with Monoprice, can not beat their price and it works just fine. I would go with the 12AWG wire.
  2. I had a Sony ES series changer that would skip and not pick up the CD. I made some calls and was told it was most likely the magnetic"motors" which control the laser. Not sure though I traded in as a defective item so not sure what the real problem was.
  3. Thanks InVeNtOR I am going with the 3s, as long as they look as good as the seller says they look. Got him to go down to $300. Thanks again for the input. Big Cliff
  4. So for the $75 more you think these would be that much better?
  5. Off of Craigs list I can get a pair of RF3s (not the II) for $375 or a pair of RF 25s for $300 any suggestions on which way I should go?
  6. Off of Craigs list I can get a pair of RF3s (not the II) for $375 or a pair of RF 25s for $300 any suggestions of which way I should go?
  7. Are the RS-42 better suited to be used as Rear or Side surround in a 7.1 layout?
  8. If it is oak clear that you want then after you have them stripped to bare veneer, you can just put on a high quality furniture oil on them to bring out the grain. That would be oak clear I would think.
  9. Well I too am no expert, but here is what I did. My Chorus II, which are solid wood, no veneer, were purchased in the clear oak. When I brought them home my wife said that they did not match our decor. I got some very very fine sand paper and some steel wool. First I sanded then used then steel wooled them down to a bare finish. I got a hand rubbed stain "golden oak" and followed the directions and they turned out beautiful. I was abel to use the had rub stain right in my family room with just a big piece of cardboard to cover the rug. No big spilling or splashing problem with the hand rub because it is more like a paste. GOOD LUCK.
  10. Check out this site it should answer all your questions. It is also a very helpful tool if you are wiring mutiple speakers. http://www.duncanamps.com/technical/impedance.html
  11. Well actually it has already been "retired", I was trying to fix it up so I could sell it on Craigslist. Then I would have more money to upgrade something else. We all know how that works. LOL
  12. Well that is what I thought it might be but I was hoping that it might be something else. From what I have been told Klipsh does not have replacement amps for this sub anymore.
  13. No, the output volume out of Amp is the same. Already tried switching cables no change. Thanks for the input though.
  14. My SW !2 II is not working properly. I would normally have the volume set at 5 for proper sound balance. Now I have to set it at 9 or 10 to get the same volume out of the sub. Also as I turn the volume dial up the woofer will pulsate giving out a thumping sound. Any one have an idea what the problem can be and how to fix it?
  15. Nice choice I am sure you will enjoy them. I am a happy Chorus II owner for over 15 years and they never cease to amaze me. Let us know what you think of them when you get them hooked up.
  16. OK thanks I will see what I can find.
  17. My SW 12II seems to need to have the volume control turned up. I used to have it set at 5 and now it seems I need it set at 9 or 10 to work proberly. Anybody have an idea of what the problem could be. I am hoping (but thinking it is) not an amp problem.
  18. I am looking to get a pair of outdoor speakers and have an opportunity to purchase a pair of Klipsch CS-5Ts. Because these are from the contractor series I am wondering how good they really are? They seem to be more for businesses as background music and paging applications. I want them for just good/great outdoor music listening. Should I get these or does anybody have any other recomendations. I am all ears or should I say eyes?
  19. I have an oppurtunity to get a pair of these for $200 are they worth it? Being that they are a contractor series model am a not sure how good they are. Anybody have any insight or first hand knowledge of these speakers? Are the contractor series speakers as good as the consumer outdoor speakers sold by Klipsch?
  20. I know this is a Klipsch forum but I can get these off Craigslist for $200(never used new in box) Any body have any ideas or experiance with these and how good they are. I am planing to use them outside for my patio and pool area. Here is the site for info: http://www.electrovoice.com/products/128.html
  21. Hsu is very good check out the site http://www.hsuresearch.com/ also the SVS subs http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box.cfm For music I think the old M & K subs are outstanding if you can find one on Craigslist or Ebay. I have a V-125 and it is very tight sound, but I only use it for my music listening pleasure. Best of luck on your decision.
  22. My Chorus IIs are powered by a Kenwood Basic M2A, and they sound great. Look for them on Ebay or maybe you will get lucky and find one on Craigslist. Happy listening.
  23. So 3 say to spend my money, and let them know what I think; and at least one NO so I am going with the one NO. Thanks for your input "Marvel". If it matters I would have to spend $350 for the Dynaco. I am happy with the Kenwood, but I was just wondering if I would have been HAPPIER with the Dynaco.
