  1. Yeah i looked at the specs of the behringer and thought holy crap thats a lot of power for the auras! but its nice to consolidate your components also. And I wish I had seen your Jamo before I got the Dayton amp. I would have picked it up from you.
  2. are you using the Behringer 2500 from your tag for your auras?
  3. what are the layouts like for the heights? when you say wide...are they supposed to be set wider then your fronts?
  4. I have a question about the front height...since it seems some of the 7.1 receivers give you the option of either front height or back rear surrounds...what would you guys choose? would you choose front height or would you go with the back rear surrounds? I havent heard anything with the front height setup yet but am very curious. I'd like to be able to do front height and back rear surrounds but dont have the money to put that together at this point.
  5. i was looking at the wattage of my amp and its 2x75 at 4 ohms...by wiring the shakers in series wont that drop the wattage down to about 37watts rms or right around there? is that going to be enough power to get them to shake efficiently? I'm new to wiring and ohms and series and parallel...so sorry about all the questions if they seem dumb. I read an article about series, parallel and series/parallel and i'm trying to keep it all straight. this is the article i was reading http://www.termpro.com/articles/spkrz.html
  6. sweet...sounds good to me. I just want to make sure I do this right. I appreciate all the help and advice superedge88!
  7. you wouldnt bridge the amp? and a what if question....what if i add 2 more down the road at some point...which i might actually do sooner then later.
  8. Ok...I'm needing help on how to wire up my new additions I got 4 of the aura pro bass shakers and the dayton audio apa150. I keep reading different and conflicting ways of hooking them up. So i'm looking to you guys for some info. I have 2 couches and a theater style couch. My plan is to put 2 shakers in the theater couch, 1 per seat. And then each couch will have 1 shaker. I'm really confused as to how to wire them though. Thanks for the info.
  9. I correct myself...just looked at the PDF owners manual. It shows the connection being made on the Line In "L" on the back of the sub. Its figure 3 of the owners manual. So as long as you have the LFE output on your receiver, you are fine with the single cable.
  10. How do the aura shakers compare to the Clark Synthesis TST209 Tactile Transducer? I see there is more power handling and they claim 10 times the force of the aura. Are they worth the extra money? partsexpress has them for $69 but if they are 10 times more powerful you could probably get away with having less installed. Worth it? or anyone used them?
  11. I'm looking at starting with 4. But not sure til I really have them hooked up. I might go with 2 in my main theater couch and then 1 each in my other 2 couches. Just to see how it does and maybe add 1 to each couch if needed for a total of 6....but 4 for now. I want 2 in my main theater couch cuz thats where I always sit and its central to my screen and all my speakers so I figure upgrade my seat 1st
  12. So i'm considering doing this upgrade very soon and am caught in the problem of which amp to choose. I was wondering what the frequency level is on the aura shakers and which amp to pair with them to get down that low. I was looking at the buttkickers and they go down to 9hz but couldnt find the aura info. And most amps I've seen dont have a crossover that goes that low anyways. I've looked at an audiosource amp-100 that should be able to run 4 aura's around 50 watts each and has the ability to go down to 20hz. Then i've been looking at the Dayton amps and wasnt sure which one might be a good option. SA70, SA100, APA150? The SA70 goes down to 60hz, SA100 down to 40hz and the APA150 down to 50hz. But i keep reading that where you really get to enjoy the shakers the most is below that cutoff. So I need some help...maybe other amp options?
  13. this place has a pretty good selection of stuff. not sure though exactly what you are looking for. http://www.standsandmounts.com
  14. Just got this in my email. Thought someone might be interested in it. Buy one - get one free http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.610809&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL022211&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL022211-_-EMC-022211-Index-_-Combo-_-Combo610809-LM3A
  15. I just bought an 135" elite screen from costcentral.com its a pretty entry level screen but I grabbed it for $170 just a month ago. I think it was about $200 total shipped. Just an idea that may fit into your budget. this is the one I just picked up. http://www.costcentral.com/proddetail/Elite_Screens_Elite_Manual_Series_M135UWH/M135UWH/10311485/
  16. So what do you guys recommend for power then? about 150 watts or so for the aura pro bass shaker.
  17. I had just started looking into this so i'm glad to see that some people have used it and really liked it. the buttkicker LFE kit is pricey but its a 2100 watt amplifier. But like you said, its a lot more expensive to do also.
  18. how do you think the aura pros would compare with the buttkickers that amazon offers?
  19. guy here is trying to sell 2 of the sub 12s. http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/144304.aspx I'd love to pick them up myself but cant at this point.
  20. all sorts of great in depth reviews at http://www.projectorreviews.com this site has a great calculator for helping you get the right idea for measurements http://www.projectorcentral.com/projection-calculator-pro.cfm they have good reviews as well.
  21. I was wondering the same thing about the difference between the sub-12 and sub-12hg? only thing i can figure out is that the 12hg might stand for high gloss trim instead of the platinum trim? and I have a sub-12 now and love it and I'm looking at adding a 2nd one. Would it be best to just stick with the sub-12 or would the sub-12hg pair with it fine? seems like you can find the sub-12hg for cheaper right now.
  22. I was doing some more research lastnight and read that the C2s have two-way Tapered Array system. I read a little bit about it but didnt fully understand it and was wondering if that would cause an issue being used in the rear surrounds.
  23. I was wondering if using 2 C2s for rear surrounds in a 7.1 would work good. I currently have F2s and C3 in the front. S3s on the side. And I have an extra C2 from when I upgraded to a C3. So I wanted to set it up in a 7.1 system and I thought if I could pick up another C2 for cheap have 2 of those running for my rear surround. Would there be any reason why this wouldnt work? I've read about using the B3s or B2s for rear surrounds. But I figured since I had an extra C2 maybe that would work good and sound good. Plus picking up a C2 is cheaper then a pair of B2s or B3s. Any thoughts?
  24. I've got a similar question. I want to run a 7.1 setup and I currently have this: I have the C3 and F2s up front S3s on the sides and I'm looking for another pair of S3s but almost impossible to find them. So i'm curious if it would be ok to run S2s at the rear with the S3s on the side or would it be better to run the S3s in the rear and S2s on the side or wait until some S3s come available?
  25. And i want to mount them on the sides anyways. I was just saying that due to how my room is designed i needed to mount the speakers vertically and the back wall wasnt an option anyways. The ideal placement is on the sides for my room...but like i was saying is that when you walk in there is about 12" of wallspace to the right of the door where I want to mount one of the surrounds. But due to the size of the S3 a vertical mount is the only way i can go. I will try and get a pic up. Thank you for your help to both my questions wuzzer...here and my other question of what type of screw I would need as well.
