RP160 or RP250 as Frontspeakers for my little Room?
BluBitRates replied to Katze's topic in Home Theater
Another option is to buy the RP-160 and the R-112SW sub (i own this sub, it is pretty big but sounds good). You could run these in 2.1 stereo for a few months and see how you like the sound. You may find you want to save and go with a bigger center channel and tower speakers and move the RP-160 to surround duty. Otherwise the RP-240s Would match better with your RP-160. -
So i bought a RC-35 used and it looks like it was mounted from the rear and there are four screw holes in it. Is this going to affect sound quality? What should i use to fill them in? The speaker is a little beat up already so it does not need to be a pro job. I was thinking of just filling them with some paintable white caulk and then using a sharpie to color them black. I suppose i could also just get 4 screws, paint them black and screw them in.

Nice looking speakers!

I will take a rc-62ii in cherry please! Located in South Bend Indiana. (Sorry if this is considered hijacking the thread!)

Nice price. I am guessing b-stock by the looks of the wood pattern?
-
thanks i did not ask them about it over the phone but i appreciate you filling me in!

I hooked them up and was surprised i like them as much if not better than my RF-82ii, although i do not play at very high volumes and have a sub to compliment them. I think it is because they sit lower and the tweeter is closer to ear height. I really love the looks of my RF-82ii in cherry though. It is a bigger, heavier and better looking speaker. I would think a side by side would prove it superior too. I have come really close to jumping on the RP-280f train. I think these tier of speakers are the best price per perfomance out of the klipsch family. I was just head over heels with my original RF-82s which were the first klipsch speakers i have owned! I really enjoy having speakers that are in near perfect condition too . Okay end of my rant.

The RS62 is what you want but RS62ii or RP-250s will both be great. First off though get a Rc-64 and do not worry about your surrounds so much. This would have been better off posted in the home theater forum by the way

Klipsch had those parts and took care of me. Never had a bad experience talking to their customer service. Still not sure about that little foam square though

I recently picked up a pair and a RC-35. A few questions, i found a little square black "sound absorber" pad in the port of one of the towers, also found a few pieces of unopened candy. Is this a part this is placed higher up inside the tower? Also i am missing one of the nubs from the bottom of the feet that cover the screws. Anywhere i can find one? Lastly, missing the tilt screw on the rc-35. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am currently running a 2.1 system but was thinking i may eventually go 5.1. For the time being i think bass management might be nice so i am considering a new receiver. Coming from a harmon kardon hk3490. Any nice models out there you recommend that can be had for $200 or under. They seem to have came down in price now that the hogh definition codec audio formats have been out a few years. I have had a pioneer elite before and loved it but is there reliablility issues with the ice amps or the newer (last 5 years) Pioneer elite receivers? This is for a rf-82ii setup in a smaller living area

I am pretty picky, i would not want to mix them. Keep looking for a black one. Mk1 if possible

Will someone message him and let us know what is going on inside his head?

Buy the RC-62 or a series one rc-64 unless you ever plan to upgrade your rf-82s

Klipsch Reference IV RC-62 and RS-52 II's for Sale - SOLD
BluBitRates replied to japosey's topic in Garage Sale
Same, in indiana and would have been interested in some local RS-52ii -
Seems a little expensive to me. Rf-52ii are not worth $450

I believe there are platforms the sub sits on that are sold that isolate the sub from the floor. Things may still rattle tyough! Have fun

How are these centers stacking up with the rc-62ii?
-
Nice system! How do you like it? No i think your system is adequite without a amplifier. If if all channels were being driven it may not be ideal but i think what you have should work fine. Also if you bought a different receiver with preouts the amp section would likely be beefier as the mid and higher grade models offer pre-outs. A different receiver itself might be a nice upgrade for you down the road. You have caught a case of upgradeitis my friend.

I opened a ticket and with my serial i think they could determined that i had one of the affected amps (which i knew already!). Sounds like they are going to send me a replacement amp. Klipsch is a really great company. Looking forward to getting some RP-280f speakers in the future. Just wondering if i should go black or cherry!

Any idea if they are doing anything for owners of the original version? My 112SW does this and it is audible. Have tried a few different things but no fixes. Will call klipsch tomorrow.
