  1. Well I have posted pictures of my HT previous in the "let's see your home theatre" thread. But I'll start my own little thread just to have the originals and updates all together. So these are Synergy F-3 fronts and F-2 surrounds with a c-3 center and Sub12. Also note the early 20's age group "pleather" apartment couchs.[Y] I apoligize for the low quality pictures. They are all from my iphone. My wife allows me to do anything I want to the mancave home theatre but not so much when it comes to gaining access to her beloved camera[8o|] Original pics: The above is my third set of Klipsch speakers and the original photo's I uploaded
  2. So do I use 4 RCA's from each of my surrounds and then bring them together through addapters down to just 1 input on the 608?
  3. Yeah 1 RCA per channel. So I put the RCA cable on the center preout and sent it to the RCA input on the sr608. So is the 608 reading the entire center channel signal? Also was wondering how I am going to power more than 1 channel off it since the input is just "cable in" or whatever input I use like "BD" for example. How is my 608 going to know what signal to send to each surround unless it uses it's own pro?
  4. So hooked it up and it's working. Question though. The preout is just 1 RCA. The input to my avr had red, white, and yellow for the input. Obviously yellow is video.... Should I use red or white? I put it in the red for now but I wanna make sure I'm getting the entire signal ya know. I also tried to use the hdmi which didn't work. Seems like it should though
  5. Great.... I'll give it a try today
  6. I have an avr with preouts and one without. Can u use the preouts to send an RCA signal to the 2nd avr and use it's amp to power my surrounds?
  7. Thx guys. I'll check out those links.
  8. After u hit the reply button the text from the message u r replying to will appear in a grey box above your open typing space. Then within that grey box at the bottom is another button u must hit that says "quote". I got a chance last night to fire up the ps3 and play around with Netflix. I was wasting time pulling up the movie and looking at the "audio options" until I finally saw the little HD and 5.1 boxes. It's a step in the right direction but they have very little content that is both HD and 5.1.... Hopefully that changes soon. I am gonna call or email and voice my thoughts to netflix. Thx. For the help everyone
  9. Yeah. I was gonna just sell them off before I even tried them because after unboxing the first I saw just how big they are. But I couldn't resist trying them so they are in play now. Using my rf62ii's as surrounds for now and have the 3007 up and running. Still gotta do the initial audyssey set up. I also picked up a pair of dsp 3200's. Probably gonna return them for the 3400's though.
  10. That's nice to hear. I will watch for a sale and grab one then. If I don't hear an improvement then it will be worth the return shipping to find out. Thx refhead
  11. $500-$700 range. What do I get for the money? Surge protection of course. "clean" power too right but what does this clean power do for my projector and avr? Better picture? Better sound? I see almost everyone has them. Just would like some real world info before dropping a decent chunk of change on one. Thx in advance
  12. Yeah I saw the dates. I also know where your system has gone and it has inspired alot if the choices I have made. I was surprised when I read your first post so I just had to ask that's all. No offense intended bro. Does emotive offer a money back guarantee if your not happy? If so I may order the xpa5 soon. Glad to hear you like yours and again you seem to have a beautiful room and great setup
  13. Just curious on this: you state in the original post that you feel like the xpa3 doesn't change your sound quality for your klipsch. Why would you then spend $1600 on a 5508 and $900 on a xpa-5 when you could have got essentially equal sound quality out of a 5008 for $1600? I'm not asking to stir the pot. I just bought an onkyo 3007 and was planning on getting the xpa5 soon. Don't want to waste $900 on an amp if my sound quality is not going to be markedly improved.
  14. Are the crossovers different on the floor standers? I know the 64 has different crossover points on the outer and inner woofers and it seems like the rf 7 would disperse the sound much differently. It seems good on some levels to have the exact same speakers across the front for a seamless stage.... But in the end you are sending a different signal to the center so even though the speaker is the same it is not going to sound the same. Personally I probably would not notice one way or the other. I am running a 64ii with 63's right now and it sounds great to me. If I was gonna run a l/r speaker as a center I would try to have it upright and not on it's side. I don't have room to do that so I'll stick with the 64. I would try 3 rc64ii's as l/r/c as well if I had an extra $2k to throw around! Lol
  15. I see that on my onkyo. However I am wondering if there is a way to know what audio your going to get before you choose to start streaming the movie. That way I can not waste time having to start streaming first and then exiting out and finding a new movie if I see that it's in stereo or something.
  16. what about something like this: http://www.dryfilmadhesive.com/heatActivated.htm
  17. Dont get me wrong. I like Netflix. I pay the extra couple bucks for BD rentals and those are essentially all I watch for movies. I don't own any BD myself. Does it say in the title somewhere if the audio is 5.1/stereo? I know it tells you if it's HD or not but what about the audio? Not near my PS3 so I can't look for myself.
  18. I can't wait for them to figure out a way to improve the audio and video quality on streaming movies. I watched kick-*** the other day because I heard the audio was killer but netflix managed to rain on my parade. Streaming 1080p and BD quality audio is all I ask for from netflix. lol
  19. Interesting. Not sure I fully understand but interesting none the less. Thx for the replies.
  20. emotiva forums, avs forums, blu-ray forum
  21. Just curious here. I watch movies at the -20 to -24 range on my avr. Any idea what % of rated power I'm using? What level is your volume knob at?
  22. The RF62ii's are half the price your finding for the 82ii's. I never heard the 82ii's but have owned the 62ii's and I am impressed. I heard a side by side rf7ii/rf62ii comparison and I gotta say that the 62ii's will hold their own in a smaller room. If you need to really open up the volume then go bigger for sure but for the double the money I would compare the 62ii's to the 82ii's side by side first. I don't think you will leave wanting to spend the extra cash based on comparisons I read in this forum of the 62/82/63. Looks are important to me as well and having had the F-3's I can say that I like the look of the double 8 inch woofers. 10 inch woofers seem a little big to me on the 7ii's but the cabinets on them can't be beat.....happy hunting[]
  23. Welcome aboard. I have no experience with the SVS subs other than to say I have read some really nice reviews on them. I'll suggest a couple subs here for you in your budget that I have personal experience with however not exactly sure about the size specs on them (sorry about that). Your room is pretty big compared to mine so keep that in mind on my suggestions. Elemental design is an internet direct company that make quality home theatre subs. I purchased 2 A5-350's from them and they are awesome. They are too *** for your size requirments so they probably won't help you...but eD does make many other subs and I know people on this forum will be able to help you with them. Paradigm dsp 3200.... my favorite sub for looks. Seems more accurate than the 15 inch subs from eD but not nearly as loud. I believe it will fit in your space. Klipsch sub 12.... lower end as far as quality goes but I found it to be a great budget minded option. I beleive a member is selling one on the cheap in the garage sale section. Polk pws 505... another very budget friendly sub that gets louder than the price point would have you think. Those are the subs I have owned and can attest to their quality. The only subs I never really liked are some no name subs I picked up from "onlyfactorydirect" a couple years ago when I was first building my home theatre....they were really inexpensive and didn't suck but I returned them cause they just didnt seem very accurate. I have made the mistake (read as I had fun) starting out cheap and upgrading over the last couple years. Spent way more money than I needed to but also got alot of experience with different speakers and equipment along the way and had fun doing it. As a matter of fact I am still not done. I guess I won't be until I get to the top of the Klipsch RF line! lol. I had the Onkyo tx sr608 until last week and I really like it. I moved it to my bedroom as I went with an onkyo model with preout in the home theatre in preperation for an external amp. I'm sure you'll be very happy with the sr609. Also just for clarity I only watch movies and play games. No music so I cannot attest to how well any of the previsouly mentioned sub will work for music. Good luck with your search and take your time. For me the search is half the fun.
  24. Have u given any thought to going with a refurbished older model from accesories4less? If your only down to the 09 's then I'll shut up. But if you are open then you can get an avr with more options for less$ if u go back a model or two. You can get a nr708 which gives you the networking your looking for at the same price point. Also at the same price they have the nr807 which is 2 models back. Onkyo's website allows u to compare all their models to one another including older ones. That way you know what the exact differences are. I would compare the 609/708/807 since they are all in your budget and see how u feel about the differences.
  25. My religion is not timbre matched but my l/r/c's are! JK
