  1. Sent you a PM - Interested in first person does not contact you again.
  2. Hello and good luck with your search - if for some reason you find a different model and go that route, let me know if you'd like to sell the Crites x-overs for the Chorus 2 model. I have a pair in oiled walnut that I wouldn't part with that I've only done the tweeter upgrade one. Thanks! James
  3. Let me know if you may have interest in a 2M Blue instead?
  4. I am not super comfortable with the soldering iron - I may just take the suggestion to send them in to Crites and have them update them!
  5. anyone have an inexpensive set that theyve upgraded from or moved on to other models? y I have a pair of Forte 1 with stock xovers and upgraded tweeter diaphragms, recently acquired (through this forum) pair of superb Chorus 2 all stock would like to think about the remaining upgrades as budget allows. Let me know what you may have - thanks! James
  6. Thanks - yes I understand upgrade path on this would be the blue - no budget for that at the moment but it could be a future purchase for sure.
  7. My thanks to John for excellent packaging and an easy transaction! Looking forward to setting up the Silver on my UTurn this weeeknd! James
  8. Denis i am thrilled to be heading back to Maine and be the next steward of these beautiful speakers it was also great to get to meet you and your wife! They should be hooked up by lunch time! James J
  9. I am hoping for some help with the crossover on these they are clearly marked TYPE C and the prior owner had done a cap upgrade with a kit from Crites but did a lousy job with the wiring. Something just doesn’t sound right at louder volumes bass gets muddy and almost muffled. Both speakers. I am wondering if they did not wire the new caps in correctly? While I have redone a set of type E in the past I am far from an electrical engineer! Here is a pic of the mess thinking I should just snip snip and start with fresh solder and clean wire routing hoping for a picture of a redone type C I can copy? thanks JAMES
  10. i recently acquired some Heresy and am on the fence about trying tubes - I am currently driving with a Marantz 2265b and it sounds fantastic. Look forward to hearing your opoinion on the MP301.
  11. i would agree - i have not yet done the crossovers on my KG5.5's - but I did just the tweeters and that was enough of an improvement for now!
  12. I can confirm that both tweeters had that coating I was able to carefully brush off most - I would also agree with Mr Crites that is NOT an example of his shop's work having purchased their services before. I did discover that whoever did the xovers not only had poor soldering skills, but the woofers were hooked up out of phase - that has been corrected! Thanks again to everyone for the great advice. James
  13. thanks for the tips - I'll report back - the cabinets were shockingly good when I saw them I cannot believe they are 44 years old!
  14. Hello - I acquired some 1973 Heresy 1 - Walnut Oil with risers and cane grills - cosmetically they are a 9/10. I opened them up and they have type "C" crossovers that appear to have been modified to type "E" with a Bob Crites kit. They sound amazing - I am getting a vibration or resonance out of one cabinet at high volumes I think it may be the back cover so I'll seal and tighten - but when I opened this one up I noticed some yellow powder substance all over the back of the tweeter - anyone know what this is - the other one does not have this? Other than the crossover modification - everything seems bone stock. THanks for any tips!
  15. Hi folks - Lucky yard sale run this weekend got a pair of Heresy 1 with slant risers - all original components, cabinets had a few nics and grilles need refurbish, I have started sanding them down (they were originally raw birch). They are missing (1) of the copper badges - copper with black klipsch writing - any chance anyone has a spare? they are the same ones on the KG4, Forte, etc.. Thanks! James
  16. Getting ready to post this on ebay - any interest here first?
