  1. I am looking for the followig compression drivers: B&C DE85' B&C DE750 Radian 950PB Radian 951PB Selenium D405 Atlas PD-5VH Also looking for a few of the Fast-track Eliptrac 400 horns, and/or the Fast-track La Scala or Fast-Track Cornwall horns. I am also looking for several of the CW1526 woofers. If any of you guys might happen to have any of this stuff, please feel free to email me at Dandy870@yahoo.com or text me at (870)679-9618. Many thanks!
  2. I am highly interested in these, sending PM to the OP in just a few moments!
  3. So do you guys think that the B&C DE85 for use as a mid-range driver in the 3 way configuration, matted with a pair of Eliptrac 400 horns, would this sound all that much better than the Selenium D405 matted with the 2380? This is the question that I am trying to figure out. If the B&C DE85 + Eliptrac400 combo is worlds better or a complete night and day difference then I will go with them, if they are not all that much better than the Selenium D405/2380 combo then I will go with the later. So basically what I am trying to figure out is: B&C DE85 +Eliptrac400 versus Selenium D405 + M2380
  4. Hey guys, I am finally ready to start ordering the parts for my Cornscala build! But first, I would like to get some opinions on different driver and horn combos as I am on a budget. I will be building 3 of these and would like to keep the cost down to $800, or below, per speaker. Anyway, here are my questions: 1. Is the Selenium D405 as good as the B&C DE85? The Selenium is so much cheaper, I just want to make sure that the differences are too great because if they are, I can possibly upgrade from the D405 to the DE85. 2. Is Dave Harris' Eliptrac 400 horn all that much better than the JBL clone M2380 from Bob Crites? If so, would the D405 work with the Eliptrac 400? 3. Is the Selenium D220Ti the best tweeter for the money? If so, is the Selenium HM11-25 horn a good horn to use with this tweeter? Is the D220Ti a pretty good step up from the CT125? 4. Assuming that I use the D220Ti + HM11-25 with the D405 + Eliptrac 400 and the CW1526 woofer, what would be a good crossover to use? Would the "new style" cornscala crossover from Bob Crites work well with this? Or would there be a significant step up in performance by going with Alk crossovers? Looking forward to hearing your responces!
  5. Well the time is fastly approaching to build my Corn-Scala's that I have wanted for sooo long. I have some additional questions that I am hoping you guys can help me out with. First off, are there any other decent 2 inch drivers that would mate well with Dave Harris' Eliptrack 400 horn, but cost less than the $500 for the pair? My budget is getting kind of thin, and right now the best price that I have been able to find on the B&C DE750TN is $275 bucks each or $550 for the pair. That, coupled with the price of those Elip-Track horns, will cost over $1,000- for just the drivers and horns. Speaking of which, how do the B&C DE750TN's compare to the B&C DE85TN's or the DE250TN's, or possibly even Bob Crites CT-125? Another question that I have is how would a treo of Corn-Scala's with the DE750TN's mated with the Elip-Track 400's and 4 of the Dayton Pro-10's, sound, compared to a Corn-Scala with the K-402 horn with a Klipsch driver (not sure which one would be the best to use?) and the same 4 Dayton Pro-10's? To put it directly, how does the B&C DE750TN compare to the K-402 with what ever driver Klipsch uses? What about compared to the K-510 with the standard Klipsch driver?
  6. I say go with the best speaker that you can afford. The center channel is the most important speaker in the entire system, by quite a large margin. I would go with the Palladium over the RC-64ii any day of the week.
  7. Mrtie- Do not go around adding absorbion/diffusion panals blindly. You first need to measure your room in the time domain. RT60 calculations are useless and should not be considered by anyone with a theater setup in their home. Reverb is not occuring in your room. There is so much bad info going around with regards to room treatments that it totally blows my mind. I highly suggest you figure out how to measure your room/speakers in the time domain and use those measurements to determine where you need to put the treatments.
  8. Johnn5, can you tell me the specific model numbers of those four Dayton Pro-10's? I can't wait to get these babies up and running! I plan on purchasing all of the drivers and materials sometime in the next 3 weeks.
  9. Gothover, are you saying that if I go with the 4 Dayton Pro-10's, that I wont get any additional extension over the standard Cornwall 15? What about additional SPL? Hm...if that is the case then I may very well end up going with the stock Cornwall 15. I just thought that having four 10's would make them dig a little deeper and probably sound a little better for home theater then a stock 15.
  10. I know that if I go with 4 of the Dayton Pro-10's that I will have to change the box size, not really all that worried about that. I plan on having Dave do the motorboard and Ill build the box, if hopefully Dave can supply me with the proper specs for the woofer box.
  11. I am just curious as to how you guys feel about the woofers. I am more than likely going to use 4 Dayton Pro-10's just like Johnny5, but I can't help but wonder if those are the best choices? I might look into woofers from Eminance, Seas, TC Sounds, ect.....Heck, I could go with two or maybe even four 12's or 15's! I kind of want to do something unique and rare. What do you guys think?
  12. Wow Fastslappy that is the same approach that I am taking with my Cornscala build. I am building mine from the ground up though and instead of using a single 15 inch woofer, I am using 4 Dayton Pro-10's, just like Johnny5. Definitely keep us updated as I am very interested in knowing how you feel that the 2 way versus 3 way debate turns out!
  13. Ok so I am pretty much decided on going with a 2 way design, as I have yet to find a single person who says that they prefer the 3 way design. I will most likely be going with the B&C DE750TN drivers with Dave's Eliptrack horns, and 4 of the same Dayton Pro-10s that Johnny5 is using. I am going to have Dave cut the motorboards and I am going to build the cabinets myself. I am really looking forward to doing this, but, it will be a few weeks before I start. I will definitely take pictures and keep all of you guys updated on throughout the entire process!.
  14. Thanks for the replies, Johnny5. Which horn are you using with your B & C DE85TN drivers? I am kicking around the idea of going with a 2 way design using B & C DE750TN drivers mated with the Eliptrack horns that Dave builds, (I believe the Eliptack 400 is the one I am referring to?) along with either 4 of the Dayton Pro-10's or 2 of the Eminance 15's (not sure of which specific Eminance drivers, any suggestions?) Do you think this would be a fairly high performer?
  15. Johnny5, so you are using Dave's Eliptrac horns with the B&C DE85TN drivers in a 2 way configuration? What are you using as the bottom 4 drivers that I saw in the pic that you posted? I am interested in using that same horn and driver combo as well. Might even go with a custom cabinet that houses Daves horns with the B&C DE85TN drivers and four Dayton or Em 8 inch, or even 10 inch woofers. What do you guys think about that? If I do go that way, how would I figure out what specs to build the cabinets to? I see where Bob Crites has a custom CnC machine now and is offering fully built CornScala's in three different configiurations, so with that being said, I am sure I could talk him into building the cabinets to house all of those bad boys. Oh and yes, I will most likely be going with an active crossover.
