  1. Hello Yes. Very happy with a 400. You ought ta be quite pleased. Looks like you are considering Heresy 1`s speakers to go with your Fisher 500? Well I'm a gonna wish you the same luck I had. Had my eye open for some Cornwall's and darn if some Khorns didn't come up for sale. Didn't take much of a mental judgement to know they were coming home with me. Most of us have experience in spending our own money and would be glad to help you spend yours.
  2. Being Inbred is a situation someone is born into and has no choice in the matter at all. Being a "Flipper" is all about choice. Nobody's fault but their own. I suspect the reason he does not like Flippers, is he feels threatened by their competition. I don't know how many inbred comments I have made. Then a friend told me about a person she knew who's Grandfather was also her Father. Anyhow I was politely informed that this Lady my Friend knew was not only above average in intelligence, and looks, but had grown up to be a very nice person. Just saying we are born as we are. What we become after that is a matter of choices for the most part.
  3. Way too late for that.... I think he was already over the edge.
  4. Yes he seems unstable. Imagine being neighbors with a guy like that? I grew up with a Neighbor like that. Well maybe not that bad but pretty bad. Lived too close and she lost it from time to time. I haven't heard of picking on the little kids and making them cry. Maybe some of the newer medications are working, (I Hope) Or some innocent person that just happened along while he was in such an agitated state..! Dang. Where are the old girlfriends when ya want one. Girl I used to know got an obscene phone call once when I was there. I knew she was fun to be with but O M G. She let this guy start to warm up, then set the hook. I heard her tell him to do things I didn't know could be done. Didn't take too long before he hung up. I hope nobody feels miss-led anyone that I'm a Doc. I'm not. May very well be that one you may be a Dr. and reference is meant for someone else. Just a retired nurse that spent time working on a locked Psych unit. We answered Suicide hotline calls 24 hours a day. Looked like a valid number to a specially treatment center. Don't see how you would get the call. I don't want to push any one over the edge.

    Alabama police brutality

I also have a few TV's myself. As in this forum I choose what I want to see/read or listen to. I have seen new Babies pictures posted that I chose to read the thread. I have seen GF, new boat, firearms of interest. Anything I don't want to view I have the option to not view. So don't give me that "If it's not stereo it doesn't belong here." Now the part I don't like is when I feel someone thinks they know what I want see and more then I know. I hope it was just a bit of miss communication and no one is suggesting I'm unable to make my own choices along with the other forum members I have seen many topics that are non-stereo related. Some appear to be heading out of line only to come back to where I might find it to be reasonable, and someone else may think it is still unreasonable. Off topic threads give more diversity to the forum. Helps keep the place from becoming the same old boring squat that some of the other sites appear to be.
  6. Totally missed it. Kinda like a Master Baiter on a fishing boat. Thanks for pointing it out to me. If he called the Suicide Hot Line, that runs 24/7, No need to wait for business hours. I have had to send Police out to do a Welfare Check more then once after talking with someone on the Hot Line.
  7. Blah. They applied for the job, went through the training and know the risks. Not to mention they wear body armor. The odds are slanted favorably to them. At the end of the day if you can't handle the job without relying on killing someone throwing rocks in your direction then maybe you ought to choose a new career. Local police where I grew up loved the young ride a long's. With most of the officers all went well. However Some Officers Took advantage of the Jail Bait Ride a Long's. which sometimes got them removed from the force. But not always. I would not advocate for ride a longs with Police anymore then I would advocate putting environmentalist's on a Logger's Riggin crew so they could experience the danger a riggin crew experiences every day. Just like the Commercial Fisherman, and High Lead Logger, the American Police Officers chose their occupation. I remember the old shows. Seems like the networks were able to entertain most of us without showing pictures that imply that people are killed, mutilated, or other such crap. We used to leave guns hanging in the rack on the wall, and leave for vacation with all the doors unlocked. Didn't think much about it back then. What would happen if someone "needed" to get into the house? Rocky and Bull Winkle show was normal fair on Saturday morning. Leave it to Beaver was good too.
  8. 1-800-784-2433 ? I bet that rev's him up. Further episodes to follow, Same Forum, Same entertainment. We're sick! Misery loves company. If this is sick misery I have been mistaken. Nothing wrong, just good clean fun.
  9. You Didn't get the Payoff??
  10. Yea, that's the easy way!! I think they're just having a little fun right now... Nothing against turning this over to CL monitors. After we get a few pokes in with a sharp stick.
  11. So give him the local police department number. Or you can give him the suicide hotline number. Either would probably rub him the wrong way. Depending on how he handled being routed to unsuspected number he might get an unwanted visit.
  12. I have a few heavy receivers and amps that I'm sending out for repairs. Got a extra large pelican case for shipping stereo equip. Works well so far. First stereo to go UPS weighed in at 105 lbs including the case. Over $1,000 insured value suppose to get special handling. Sure hate to see the damage done in shipping.
  13. Seems like some of the Native American Tribes would turn a prisoner over to the women at times. So the story goes those women could think of more,, and worse ways to Torture someone and still keep them alive for more. I tell people my wife is mean due to her Apache ancestors. But then my Gtandmother told me she had to be mean to put up with me.
  14. That about covers it. We had shot a lot of rats that way. But no more. I'll state that I think my Son grew up to be safer then I did. Paul grew up shooting a lot more then I did Too. Shoots Better Too.
  15. Reminds me of a true tale worth repeating. My Son Paul and I were in Central Oregon shooting Sage Rats. So he's sitting in the window and using the top for a bench rest. He was still in gradeschool (4th Grade) so he could make it work for him. I heard him shoot and it kinda sounded like I was in a barrel. Didn't really think too much about it until later in the day when we found a crease in in the top of the car in line with where my head had been inside the car. When the rifle was held in just the right position he could see the Rat, but not the hood through the scope. And that's what happened. .243 off the top and did not go through. If it had come through the top it had a good chance of hitting me in the head. Neither on of us has shot over the top of a car with someone in the car since. I was the supposely the Adult Rsponsible for SAFETY. I sure missed the mark that day.
  16. Chad's call when the forum was upgraded. Not like we goose step around on topics in there, but it is supposed to be general Klipsch questions... Dave I would think that Klipsch speakers requiring additional equip this would be a non-issue. To have a forum that people who have Klipschs is great. Heck you don't even need to own Klipsch Products to be a member. I like my Klipsch speakers, But I also like my IMF's and some other speakers. To restrict discussion to only Klipsch topics, not allowing non-Klipsch speakers to be discussed could very well cause someone to Pass on this Forum. This would amount to less people to be influenced by our opinion of speakers. Maybe it could be said that at times most of us (?) are sometimes kind of unofficial ambassador's for Kilipsch. We all have seen questons asked and members respond. Such as; Which Amp to run with a speaker (usually Klipsch), or which speaker to get, usually Klipsch. But to be able to discuse other's products allows for more interaction and more of us buying Klipsch. Hopefully some will like our review/opinions of a klipsch product and maybe buy a new product. Something that down the road someone would be able to say "I got his from my dad or granddad" and it will mean something to them.
  17. Dave, We use the Credit Union also. That's where my spouse was able to get us a really inexpensive line of credit. She got everything set up and all I had to do was sign some paper giving away my first born Doing something on principle is not wrong. We need more people that will stand for their principals. We have high enough limits that if we need a car say because we wreck one, we can do it. In fact my wife bought her Miata with her credit card, came home an borrowed money from the credit union and payed of the card I prefer to take the big banks money, or at least let it work for me. Case in point was when we put the roof on. I could have gotten a small loan for part of the cost of the project. I'd rather keep my money in the credit union working for me. Even if it's $$$ charged on groceries and paid off monthly I can draw interest on it and build up rewards points/check to be sent to me at my request. Nothing wrong with choosing a different road then I.
  18. Taz, I know that you are just like me in that you don't care about my opinion either, but you ARE WRONG! My first job was in a slaughter house, after that, I worked as a custom cabinet maker, later still a custom laminate worker. Don't think that those who are responsible for taking care of your life and cleaning your feces up are worth more than manual labor?? How about teaching, which is a 4 year degree minimum. Want to compare apples to apples, explain to me how much more dangerous being a rough neck is than being a grunt in war right now, then explain to me how that same rough neck is worth multiple times in salary than that grunt. Prove your point or keep movin on! Roger Roger, I started working in the 6th grade. Picking beans. Early summer break mornings get up to catch the bus for 1 hour to 1.5 hour ride, pick beans all day. Go home and do it again the next day. Packed fence posts with my Grand Dad the 2 years In junior high. Worked pretty much the rest of my life. I have cleaned my share of the Hershy Squirts, laid on my back while a fat lady sat on a bedside comode seat and dug BM hoping that when the constipation was dug out loose stool would not follow. At least until I could get out of the way. Given my share of enemas. I'm sure you get the idea. I've done end of life care for more then I can remember. There are always some that I will not forget. I've worked on a locked Psych unit, Managed substance withdrawl from ETOH to Heroin, Worked with PTSD patients. I've worked as a charge nurse, med nurse, worked the floor and of course wiped butt and more. I believed I was getting a "Fair" wage for my work. I know if I had chosen I could have made more. I have spent hundreds of dollars to take educational classes before you even consider travel, and lodging for what might be a 3 day seminar. I seen some of the Doctors I knew attending some of the same seminars. I have volunteered out of this country where I have had to pay air transport, hotel, and incidentals. The purpose was to do cleft lip, cleft palates, and one of the Dr's was building cosmitic ears on the side of some of these kids. I've held babies that had just come out of the OR and rocked them trying to comfort them. I've ate cheeze with dead spiders in it, a dinner roll and coffe, cause that was what we were being served for breakfast that day. Then worked 12 hours straight until we closed up for the day. No break and lucky if anything for lunch. I would not have traded any of this for money. Too many memories of the kids, mothers of those kids, and community members who would open their home's to us. Many took pride in serving us a meal or helping in any way they could. One gentleman insisted that WE ALL stay at his house as we wound up that trip. He didn't even know we were coming to his town. Celebrated his Daughter's birthday with his family. Anyhow I think this may express just a little of my familarity with end of life care. Still needed housekeepers, Kitchen workers, CNA's and so many other people that are required to operate a hospital. I've always believed they were just as important as I, when looking at the Big Picture of Health Care. I have went outside and cried for patient I had just lost. Then had to suck it up and care for those that remained. I Advocated for my patients. I do have a Nephew I'm proud to say is a United States Marine. He does not make the money that some do. But he volunteered and hopefully will become a better man for it. Oh; And my wife runs an Adult Foster Care home at our house. So I live with people that are living near the end of their lives. Guess that makes me having cared for those coming into this world. Cared for those in their journey though life. And done my best to comfort those at the end of their Days. I would have been more Brief, but you did say "Prove your point or keep movin on!" And I don't think I'm ready to move on. I hope you don't either. Gotta liven things up, sometimes it gets a bit dull. The only guy I knew that worked the Rigs was one tough guy, hardworking. And he was college educated. I can't see him not being worth whatever he was getting paid. @ rebuy, Here, as in life, you build your reputation all by yourself. I too enjoyed the elephant picture. Reminded me of some experiences in my 'chosen' proffession where chit is an every day thing. She's a Smart Woman. I guess you missed my point, but you're a pretty smart guy so I don't see how. My point was that if you pay your credit card off every month, you're not paying ANY interest but you ARE growing your credit score. It's a win, win. My first home was built as I could. Always had enough to eat and build. Had to move and found that since I never bought anything on credit, I did not have a credit card I had no credit history. That error in not building a credit history cost me. Now I do as Carl states and use it mostly for fuel and food. And pay it off every month. I have used a no intrest credit card to put a roof on a house we bought. Made sure to pay it before it changed to interest on the principle. Paying less then 3% on the house as now I have decent credit as does my Wife.
  19. I have a real twit for a sister in law. She was whinning because I made more money it the sawmill then she did for the forest service. I never seen a forest circus employee work as hard as we did in the sawmill. The labor wears out the body and by the time retirement comes around you have a body that is wore out from repetive motions. I don't care what anyone else thinks. Sawmill work is under paid for the damage done to your body. I expect a Rough Neck would probably feel about the same way about their jobs. It's all so easy to say that someone else is getting paid too much. I think that is up to those who hold the job to decide if they will work at the wages offered for the job. I doubt that an employer would try to pay more then what people will do the job for. Seems I read a short time ago that those that have money think those that don't have as much money are getting more then what they are worth. They need to try to do the job before Cutting others down that do it. I ALSO DON'T CARE WHO AGREES WITH ME OR NOT. We are all entitled to our opinion, but that does not mean everybody is right. Since I've never worked in the oil Industry so I'll reserve judgement for those with more experince in the field. It will never happen that we all agree on everything. Big Squat, Some people will judge others as lower class and less DESERVING of the wages earned. Don't like the oil field workers? Give up using petroleum and then maybe you might pack some wt. Kind of like those that want to eliminate cutting trees for lumber but live in a wooden house (bunch of Hypocrites).
  20. The nice thing about a pump is when you rack it, the person on the other end of the barrel usually knows he is in DEEP CHIT. On the other hand the racking of the gun can warn an intruder of your wherebouts. I prefer the semi with a round kept in the chamber. The first thing an intruder knows is he has been shot. DO NOT GIVE INTRUDERS ANY ADVANTAGE YOU CAN KEEP FROM THEM
  21. 9mm & .40 cal Glocks. Sleep with a Judge with laser sights and the .40 Glock under my pillow due to past threats made to me and family. Wife took my Ruger LCR with laser sights. Keep a Tasmanian Devil with green laser sight (see Avatar ), IMI Uzi, Tec 9, 9mm Glock, 2 25 cal pistols and a rifle at bedside. Home defense and shooting Rats in the chicken coop When I was a Kid I worked up a load for my Winchester model 94 30-30 that I shot a group at 100 yrds that could be covered with a Quarter. I never shot at paper with that gun again. Not likely to improve on that round of shots using car as a rest. Nice to be able to tell people about that group. My son has one of those Henry lever action 22's. Put some rocks into a Beer can and throw it into the air and he can hit it. Not as accurate as some guns, but a kick in the *** to shoot. I have a Benneli with 20 inch barrel that I can empty before the first hull hits the ground. Besides some varmint hunting I use it for shooting mice in the chicken coop. Works great on the mice but you have to watch where your shooting and not get caught up in the moment and wind up with holes in the walls and roof. 10 ft or less from mouse with 12 ga doesn't leave any meat for the chickens.

I've read that the 22-250 and 220 swift will erode the throat of their barrels. Have you seen this in your 22-250? I think any gun can be hard on the barrel if you exceed loading instructions. But I did choose 22-250 and load out of a Nosler loading manuel which states the hotest loads are the most accurate or thier test barrel. Not quite as fast as the 220 swift though. And I think when the throat does does wear out (if ever) I hope I can get the Chamber bored to a 220 swift. Trouble is the 22-250 is quite loud and I can't watch where the bullet hit loaded like that due to recoil. Hell I can't even keep the Rat in the scoop when I shoot. By the way my 22-250 is a Ruger #1 varmint with heavy barrel. Being a single shot I don't shoot up the Ammo as fast as a Bolt, or Semi Auto. I haven't even shot 500 rounds. Not even Broke in Properly. Mine is loud enough that "I quit drinking Milk when I shoot it" . I've never shot it around stock but could imagine it could upset the stock. I know I enjoy my Daughter's .243 Ruger much better then my Ruger single shot 22-250. It's not so damn loud. And I can keep the scope on target to see where I hit. One trip shooting rats with HMR .17 and .22's the shooting was in excess of 100 yards and at times the rats would be running while while being shot. I know as my son said it was over 100 yards and I thought different. Range finder proved me wrong and him right. That young man can shoot much better then I.

Yea I know. Didn't want to seem to be bragging. .17 is good the way you state. That makes it "Farmer" friendly as we kill their rats and bunnies and no overshoot to worry much. However always the need to keep 'What if' in mind and down range clear. Some of the places we used to shoot were close to a kindergarten and grade school, besides houses and cows.

Gave my daughter A Light wt. Ruger light barrel .243 when she was in 3rd grade . Very good for varmint shooting. Hand loaded cause I'm Cheap. And that I could load it for far improved accuracy. Don't remember what size group but I was impressed and it could reach way out there busting Ground Squirrels (Sage Rats) or Deer. The rifle FAR exceeded my expectations. I had a Benjamin airgun, and I have a 10-22 with 3-9x scope and I don't know if I would shoot for wagers one against the other. Plenty Happy with both, but they are different Tools with a different approach to Different Jobs. Kinda Like a 45 record's vs 33;'s or maybe even a CD or even lossless on a thumb drive. Exactly the reason I spend so much time on hand loads, if I miss something, I don't want to be pissed at the gun and making something more accurate makes one try all the harder to improve one own abilities, at least that is my philosophy! Roger Never found a factory that was worth the money too me for hunting our punching paper. I can build a more accurate load for less coin then buying factory. The farmers I've talked to were all very accepting to letting us shoot the .17HMR's .. The bullets fragment so easily that they are not worried about ricochets. Of course like any shooting you got watch down range. The Accuracy is good well out past 100 yards. The make a scope called the Sweet .17 that is designed to match the cartridge. Never shot one myself.
