The foam will make the wall assembly stiffer and more echoic. At least that's been my experience. Don't know how important one way or another that is to Cecaa in his garage. Acoustic treatment of course is still possible if wall space is available.

Wow what a question. If i get 1 tenth of the things done that are on my plate i will be happy.
1. Veneer the Jubes.
2. Get 'em completely dialed in.
3. Finish landscaping around the front gate entrance.
4. Finish landscaping around the front door.
5 Build a shed.
6 Finish the 75' retaining wall and staircase on the lower outdoor level.
7. Complete the gravel drive and parking area to the lower level.
8. Get cast iron covers and associated risers on the septic tank (concrete covers break).
9.oh yea go to the pilgrimage in April

R value is only that. How much a given thickness insulates in a laboratory measurement. In the real world the effect of foam insulation is more complicated. Because it seals all the leaks in the building envelope if applied correctly. I've lived in a fiberglass bat insulated home and a now a foam insulated home. The difference is night and day. Of course you knew all this already.
