  1. Wow - many great systems on this site here is my two channel: 77 Cornwalls Latino M125 Monoblocks KAB Technics M5G Table McIntosh c220 Preamp The Cornwalls blow me away - such great speakers.
  2. Yep - price is now up to 369 - darn - they must have caught on - sorry about that. Here is the price I paid a few months back: Order Total: CDN$ 189.97 - the US version at that time was just over 300.00 Great set though - sound amazing. Thanks, Chris
  3. I have the early years box set - love it - you can get it for 100.00 less if you use amazon canada (100.00 less than US Amazon) - I paid 200.00 vs. 300.00 - great deal and arrived in a couple of days via DHL.
  4. Your amp looks great - I've just ordered a set of the M125 mono blocks - I'm looking forward to joining yet another club! I think the M125s will mate really well with my Mcintosh c220 and corwalls.
  5. Thanks very much Robert. It shouldn't be too tough to pick up a set - Craigslist is your best bet - I see them come up fairly often - also check Sacramento CL as well. When you find a set contact the seller quickly to lock them down - then setup an appt to hear them - that is what I did - also bring a cordless drill to pop open the back to have a look at the internals - look for damage, rot etc - also - when you have locked in the set with the buyer - shoot a post to this forum for advice based on serial numbers and condition. I would think most Cornwalls out there will be decent, repairable and upgradeable - Bob Crites has the parts. There are some on SF Craigslist right now (I do not know the condition - I briefly searched just now.) Good luck!
  6. Great work - those are going to be nice - cannot wait to see the finished product.
  7. Thanks again everyone - and 70SATMan - your decorator is a beauty!
  8. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and all the kind words. Definitely proud of these bad boys. And it was especially painful having to be patient waiting for them. This is definitely a sickness - but a good one. Thanks again. Chris
  9. First time poster - long time lurker. I picked up some '77 Cornwall Decorators recently and decided to upgrade and refinish them. Bob Crites was very helpful when I initially picked them - he noticed they were decorators and responded to my questions very quickly - in about an hour if I recall. So I've done the following internal upgrades: Crites - CT 125 tweeters, crossover rebuild kit, squawker gaskits and cast frame woofers. The original woofers where nice however the coloring was off a bit between the two so I decided to go with new woofers - what the heck. I'll keep all the original parts for these classics. For the finishing work - I decided to leave that to the pros - I found Luke Austin out in Emeryville CA: Austin Furniture Workshop - Emeryville CA Luke did a great job - great service, advice and very reasonable prices. I ended up with new Mahogany veneer along with a nice Ebony trim which provides a very nice contrast. I have go give credit to Chris King - whose Decorators inspired mine. I love these speakers - they are definitely keepers and sound amazing - now I know why so many people like the Cornwalls. Thanks,
