  1. I use mine with a Squeezebox Touch and have been very happy for the $200 I paid for it. Good bass and not overly bright. More transparent than my modded Denon player. Hibuck...
  2. I used the SA's in concert with a mundorf supreme in a 90/10 ratio on the mids for my Cornwalls and am very pleased. Huge soundstage, little or no shout with great impact. I used Obligatto's on the highs and found them a bit laid back, but then my hearing isn't what it used to be and I'd prefer that to sibilance and sssst....sssst. from the tweeter. YMMV Hibuck
  3. I too, have the SA15-S1 as well as the PM11S1 reference integrate. It's the only solid state I still have.
  4. mycornwalls have the K51 mid and I love how smooth the mids are. The Clarity/mundorf supreme caps I put in only made it better!
  5. I have a pair of Cornwalls tha I've upgraded the caps in and have found a nice pair Belle's. What are the difference's I'll find other than more bass from the Cornies? Not unhappy with the sound...have always loved the looks of the Belle. Comments...counsel?
  6. nice work! Woodworking is something I have no skills in at all.
  7. Soon as I get my room cleaned up a bit, they willl be coming
  8. Why some owners love their Juicy Music equipment. Just put a Blueberry extreme in my system with Cornwalls (upgraded caps) and and ARC VTR60. Wow...I was not prepared the the combination of clarity, smoothness and detail. I just listened for "Clapton Unplugged" for at least the 1000th time since I got it years ago and heard some nuances and interplay between EC and Andy Fairweather-Smith (Smythe?) that I've never heard before. My $4k Marantz integrated had a bit more "slam" but this setup wins in every other category that matters to me. One happy camper, Hibuck....
  9. Hard to tell what the drivers are since the pics don't really allow identification. The squawker horn is a Speakerlab horn. The amp is a car audio amp....so unless you have a 12v supply to power it with and a preamp to control the volume with, you probably won't be using that amp. Hibuck....
  10. Point well taken. I'm sure they would allow a home audition. I don't know that they would sound better than one of the tube amps/integrateds I alredy have. It's the siren call of the beautiful unknown
  11. They have been restored, new tubes, mint shape...at a shop that specializes in vintage. 22wpc...and are you sitting down? Over a grand.
  12. I found a really clean pair of 99's, but don't find near as much about them as the 299 integrated. Any input/counsel appreciated here....they are not cheap. Hibuck...
  13. I have a planar 25 and love it. Get a decent cartridge and enjoy!
