  1. Hi, Looking at this picture of the response graph, I was just wondering if anybody has tried a notch filter in the 1,5 to 2 khz range?
  2. I have a 63" Sammy plasma, Yamaha 1040bd player and 3067 avr. I was pretty happy with that, but felt I could improve the piqture quality. I thought of buying a new tv, but then a friend of mine got a Oppo 105D and when I saw the difference that it made, I also wanted one! With the Oppo in my system, I'm no longer thinking of buying a new tv. It made a huge difference. I had a poweramp connected to the 3067, and I wanted to test the volume regulation built into the Oppo connected directly to my power amp. That made a big difference. The dynamics and detail was much improved, but I felt I lost a bit of punch, oomph and fullness in the bass/ midbass. I then tried connecting a Parasound pre amp, and to my surprise the punch, oomph and fullness was back in spades! Even more so than running it through the 3067. And this was with a modest Parasound 2100. I liked the way this was going, so I thought if I get an even better pre, things would improve even more. I contacted the maker of my poweramp and asked if he could build 6 channel version of his stereo pre amp. It took a few months before I recived it, but it was really worth it. So now I'm using my Oppo as the center of my almost analog system, and I couldn't be happier! This maker of my amps is now building me a new analog output stage for the Oppo. I'm sold on Oppo, and really looking roward to this upgrade as well.... I guess you could say that I'm chasing the dragon here, but hey, which serious hobbyist isn't?? Cbarth
  3. Hi I had Crites upgrades with crossovers and titanium tweeter diaphragms in both Cornwall ii (also with Crites woofers) and Forte ii. They were an significant upgrade from stock. I am collecting parts now for an "all out" version of the stock Forte ii crossover. Much inspired from Set12, frequent on the Klipsch Korner pages over at Audiokarma. So far I have got new German beefy auto-formers, duelund cast copper caps for mids and Mundorf silver in oil for tweets. Still saving up for some beefy 8awg air coils from North Creek inductors... Dang these things are expensive! I'm really looking forward to completing these! Cbarth
  4. Hi guys, I see the new horn in the Premiere series has a 90x90 dispersion, so what do you guys think of using the new RP-250C as three identical lcr speakers? With the left and right speakers "standing" vertical.... Regards, Cbarth
  5. Hello, Does anybody have the schematics for any of the Klipsch KG3 versions? Thanks, Cbarth

I have a 63 inch Samsung plasma 3d tv behind the curtain... I was never quite satisfied with the picture quality of this tv. But it took a giant leap up in quality when I connected the Oppo BDP105D compared to my previous Yamaha A1020 player.

This is an overview over my small cabin in my backyard. I made everything myself and I put in quite a few hours. When I started, it was never the plan to bring my av-gear out there, but when my wife suggested it, I made some mods and it actually works ok. But because it is so small, the sound is very physical. When I crank it, you can physically feel it. I can feel my hair moving and remotes, phones etc start dancing on the table. Big grins!

One of my 15 inch wide THTLP'S under the bench. Loaded with Eminence LAB 12. Really pleased with these. I have tried several other subwoofers, and none had the SQ of these horn loaded subs. Especially on acoustic music, they bring another layer of realism. The sense of speed and control is addictive. And the spl-reserves on hand is just ridiculous, one of these beat the living crap out of the SVS Ultra 13 I had previously.

My Cornwall ii's. Upgraded with Crites woofer's, crossover's and titanium tweeter diaphragm's. Cab's re-veneered (walnut) by carpenter.

The electronics. Oppo BDP 105D fed analog into the MI 16 pre amp. The pre amp is custom built with 6 channels. I have to set the crossover, distance and level in the player. These amps are really something special. 2*80 W in pure class A, giant psu (400.000 qF caps and 2*750 VA transformers), no caps in series with the signal path in either pre or power. Oh, and yes; ZERO feedback of course!
