  1. We had a busy evening at home, but this was on the news:

It happened around 2:30pm in the 2700 block of Vermont Avenue near Notre Dame High School.

Police say they arrived at the scene to find one person with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The unidentified victim was taken to a local hospital.

Police say several places, including Notre Dame High and CHI Memorial, were placed on lockdown to allow officers to make sure the area was safe.

Our offices/campus is about four blocks from where the shooting took place. We ere on lockdown, and they finally just let people leave, but locking the doors behind them as they left. Wife and I stayed about another 45 minutes and then went home. Tons of traffic like nothing was going on.

They haven't found the shooter as of curent news.

  2. Well, we are on lock down... There is an active shooter reported somewhere between the Catholic High School, and CHI Memorial Hosp. We are on the other side of the hospital from the school. Everyone is just still busy doing our work. We have active shooter drills once a month.

I suggest getting an inexpensive set of the plastic tools used for mobile phone repair.  Use one of the plastic pry tools...

They are called spudgers, although I have used an old gift card/credit card and thinned a corner so I could remove parts like that.

     But I am an idiot.

Can't help you with that. 🤣

Radial makes similar products, so I could see them phasing out similar products. Radial hasn't made transformers, I don't think. They've been using Jensens in theirprodu ts and have a lot bigger portfolio of products. Perhaps the transformer prices will actually end up less expensive.

  5. I told my wife it's not a race. She had never driven until she was 49, when she first arrived in the States. She's been in two accidents, neither of which was her fault. She's still learning,  I'm still learning.  I've told her I am not pointing out things to criticize,  but to make her driving safer.

THEN they whine about driving like an old man.  Seriously?

I get that, too! She's not THAT much younger than me, she just looks the part.

Well, the car is right about 65k and we bought it used. They may have been the original pads.

  7. Took wife's car in for oil change...

    Rear brakes, critical

    Front brakes, borderline

That puts a big dent in the budget. Got the used car last year, not sure where all the maintenance and wear was when we got it. Wife went from two smaller, lighter cars to her Nissan Rogue. She tends to drive right up to cars at a traffic light... and push on the brakes. I told her that she could let off on the gas when approaching the red light. I think she will start doing better now.

Assume these work as the Bang & Olufsen BeoCenter 9000 and KEF2 speakers all worked great.  No info listed on anything but the horns.

Those are all Klipsch parts from a Belle Klipsch.

Th woofers (15") should be K-33s,  the drivers for the midrange horns, maybe labeled k-55 would be atlas or electrovoice depending on the years. The tweeters (k77s) look like the EV alnico drivers.

The Belle Klipsch looked like these and are no longer being made.

  9. Yes, some pics might determine what tweeter you could put in there. Some specs on the original would help, too. Many of the drivers used are off the shelf units, that have been slightly tweaked.  It's becomes how everything is integrated to make the whole speaker.

Now I can't fix my 8000 Euro speaker because of that.

I will never buy any Klipsch speaker again because of that aweful service.

    I am very disapointed.

Very disappointing news, indeed. At least with many speakers in the Klipsch lineup, you can swap in another component if the original isn't available. Even if not perfect it's not a total loss.

    Sorry to hear this infomation.

I couldn't get the link correct, but you can call to ask about parts:

If you would like to inquire on parts availability for a discontinued speaker, please contact our Product Support team. You can reach us by phone at 1-800-KLIPSCH (1-800-554-7724).

  12. “An Englishman, a Scotsman and an Irishman wander into a little old pub in Kildare. They each ask the barman for a pint of Guinness.

After the pints are placed onto the bar, three bluebottles drop into each man’s freshly poured pint.

The Englishman pushes his pint away in disgust and orders up another. The Scot reaches in and plucks the fly out.

The Irishman reaches in, picks the fly out, holds it up close to his face and shouts, “Spit it out you little b*stard.”
