I wish I had been more with it when I was younger. I saw Albert King in Chicago in the late '60s. He was living in Memphis when I lived there in the late '70s. If I had more nerve and knew it I should have looked him up. I've met a few folks, but I should have gone out of my was to find them a reach out. Ha! It was pre internet.

I have only watched the one cut with Stormy Monday. I think the whole session is on YT, though.

Yes sir, I could never afford to build the house I built 12 years ago now. No way
Our house has about doubled in value over the past five years. Chattanooga has gone crazy.
Where we live in north Georgia had been pretty good. We bought a rancher built in the early '60s, and paid $85k. Compared to where you live we got a deal.

Welcome back but most of us never took a pause for the cause whatever that may be. It only took me 1 CD to realize the difference. I applied "Just Say NO!
. @Travis In Austin pretty much nailed it. "I have to tell you man. In listening to sound, I guess what I'm after is the closest thing that I can get to reality. Now, I know it's not going to be reality, cause the thing gotta go through wires and gotta go through filters and this and that. I understand all that. But what I really like is to get as close to the natural sound of the instruments as possible. That's why I like analog as opposed to digital. Because I don't give a shit what anybody tells you man, I know what you guys are going to tell me...'Oh yeah, but it's clean Ray!' Well it's clean but it don't got no balls!!!" - 1999 interview with Ray Charles

The bigger problem with digital recording is the way the recordings can get messed up with all the manipulation that can be done.If you used an analogue mix desk and fed it into a digital recording device today, you will get a better recording. Even Ray Charles was using digital technology late is his career, when the were remastering his material. I had an article with an engineer who worked with him and he said R.C. was fine with it.
No tape alignments, no oxide issues or speed problems. Vinyl is great for being able to see the pictures on the cover and to read the liner notes. I have a collection of vinyl and keep a turntable. Like any medium, there are good to great recordings, and those that go the other way, too. I've lots of great CDs. I just hope I'll be able to always have a CD player that works.

I have a friend in San Diego who runs a jazz club. I've never met his wife as I haven't seen Chuck for probably a little over 50 years. Anyway, his wife paints, does sculpture, etc. She was studying with a Japanese artist. I love her watercolors on rice paper. I've meant to ask her prices for some of these, as they would look nice in our home.

I know folks have used Titebond, but other PVAs should also work. This article describes doing it:

Did it sound better? You didn't say.

I think Titebond is ok, but they make a lot of types. I know it's a PVA.

Love the Heresy's - they would be in my office. have a hard time with the image coming from "near the floor".
My Heresy IIs are about 45 inches off the floor on top of some large cabinets. They are on their sides, with the tweeters on the outside. Imaging is superb and they sound massive.

Those look really nice. They would be no more than a 30 minute drive, too. However, the budget is tied up with other things for quite a while.

@Fish hey Fish, where you been? Haven't seen you around for a while.
It's been pretty quiet here, not like the old days.

Livingston Taylor, Karla Bonoff and Sean McCue. Just delightful. I saw Livingston (James Taylor's brother) years ago. Linda Ronstadt recorded this one of Karla's.

My boss is a little ocd and runs non stop all day. Most of the departments decorate around certain holidays. For Halloween, he made a fake fireplace with bats hanging from the ceiling, and had a trigger set up to play Halloween songs for those who got near. He redid it at Christmas, and decided to leave the fireplace going. The fire is actually a large monitor play a loop of a real fire. Today he put a "mouse" in a rat trap he had.

Do you work for CHI or Common Spirit?
No, they are right across the street from where I work. Our facility takes care of people with intellectual /developmental disabilities, from grade school age up until they pass away. We've supported some individuals for over 50-60 years.

We had a busy evening at home, but this was on the news:
It happened around 2:30pm in the 2700 block of Vermont Avenue near Notre Dame High School.
Police say they arrived at the scene to find one person with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
The unidentified victim was taken to a local hospital.
Police say several places, including Notre Dame High and CHI Memorial, were placed on lockdown to allow officers to make sure the area was safe.
-----
Our offices/campus is about four blocks from where the shooting took place. We ere on lockdown, and they finally just let people leave, but locking the doors behind them as they left. Wife and I stayed about another 45 minutes and then went home. Tons of traffic like nothing was going on.
They haven't found the shooter as of curent news.
