  1. Thanks guys.....I've been listening to my cd's for the first time again! [Y]
  2. That one is a little fuzzy but I think I might have still been shaking after the set up. []
  3. It's just a darker cherry veneer wood that Klipsh took delivery on. Since it wasn't up to their color specification and they accepted delivery, they made a decision to use it and offer those (B grade) to distributors at a reduced price. They are still first quality speakers just not the lighter shade of cherry. Although they are still being advertised, some dealers such as Acoustic Sound Design ran out and are offering the "A" grade at the same price.
  4. Yup him too....the whole "B" grade conversations got me thinking hard about it.
  5. Hey guys, I set up my RF7II's today and just posted in the RF7II owners thread. Since I finally recharged the batteries in the camera, I figured I might as well post my pictures HERE as well. Hope you like...... Bill
  6. Thank you Russ. You sir are one of many that inspired me to take the plunge!
  7. I set up my new RF7's and RC-64 today and wow...I'm still grinning from ear to ear. I can only imagine when I get a new pre/pro and amp how they will sound. For now tho It's still night and day (obv) from my Icon V series using the same AVR. These things are monsters and it really puts it into perspective when a 6' 2" 210lb. man can crawl inside the box to grab the legs and manual wedged into the styrafoam. These are "A" grade cherry and surprisingly, ony 2 digits apart on the serial numbers. ASD was great from pre-purchase to delivery. Was quite a sight seeing that semi backing down the street into my cul-de-sac. The driver pulled them off with a pallet jack onto a liftgate and rolled them to my curb. When I asked the driver if he would mind helping me get them inside he paused and then said sure. Thank goodness as I was by myself plus he made a really nice tip for about 5 minutes work. I've never posted a picture on this forum so instead of trying, here is a LINK to photo bucket. It's a before, during and after mix comparing to my Icons. The color of the cherry is drastically different with a flash compared to without. I was so torn between black and cherry as I had all black before. As you can see in the link I have a lot of wood in my room so the cherry worked out well. Bill
  8. Thanks Fish. I just got done reading the specs and some reviews and couldn't agree more. I'm really leaning towards Marantz but you know these salesmen make it sound like a fantastic deal.
  9. Well my new RF7II's and RC64 are sitting here all nice and pretty still in the boxes. I wanted to wait until I got a good pre/pro and amp before I set them up....I'm so dying to hear them! I stopped into 2 of my local audio stores and they are clearing out some demo's and previous models. The first is an Integra DTR7.7 that they are asking 300.00 The other store has an Onkyo TX-SR806 and also asking 300.00 Both have pre outs but the Integra only has 2 HDMI connections. I've never bought either brands before but I know a lot of forum members here are familiar with both. Anyways, I just wanted some opinions on these deals and how they might integrate into my new purchase...... Thanks as always...!
  10. Plus 1 on the Harmony One.[Y] The best universal remote I have ever owned. Not only do I control my media center components but also some led lighting, subwoofers and my PC. The only real disadvantage is not having hard buttons for red, green, yellow and blue commands but once I got use to it, the touch screen buttons aren't that bad.
  11. Mighty be quite a challenge on the WAF!
  12. I'd have to cut open the back of my media consule to accomodate the XPA's They are deeper than I realized. Wouldn't be a bad thing tho.
  13. I asked so it's quite alright to say it without saying it even tho you did say it. [] lol It will only be temporary.........
  14. Hey guys, I'm pulling the trigger tomorrow with ASD for a pair of RF7IIs and an RC64II. I'm not too familiar with separates so I would really appreciate any and all advice I can get. Movie to music ratio is about 70/30 and my room is appx. 23 x 15 This will be for a 5.2 surround set up with a possibility to expand in the future to 7.2 I've read thru many threads and I hate to be redundant but there is a lot of confusing and conflicting opinions. My budget is around 1K. Emotiva looks really good for the price but it looks like they are going thru some changes right now and the web site really confused me. I have no issues buying quality used equipment btw. Also, during the transition period will my current AVR work temporarily? As always I appreciate the help!
  15. Looks like it "Rocks" [] Congratz!
  16. I had the same situation when I went from a sound bar to a center channel speaker. I bought this and it worked our perfectly. It's solid hardwood and can be adjusted from 19 to 23 inches (inside measurement) It also raised my tv appx. 9 inches to a better viewing height. That's the mfg. link but I got it thru Amazon for less. Would be very easy to make your own for larger centers.
