  1. Doesn't look like you'll be changing your avatar in the near future as these should most definately meet the "WAF" Congratz!
  2. From AV Revolution website: The Revel LFO software can be downloaded for PCs (or Macs using PC emulation software) from Madrigal.com and works in conjunction with a CD of 1/12 octave test tones provided by Revel in your B15’s packaging. You will also need a SPL (Sound Pressure Meter) from either Radio Shack (about $40) or a more accurate device, which will cost more.
  3. I was reading some reviews and post on another forum and came across this: (copied and pasted) I bought this AVR unit from Amazon during black Friday and I opened it today. I just connected the unit to power cord and then connected Cable box to AVR via HDMI and then TV to AVR via HDMI. Now I get the picture on my TV but absolutely no sound! I think I am doing some silly mistake due to my insufficient knowledge about these devices. I spent quite some time on Google and on this forum but could not figure out the issue. Please note that I have not yet connected my speakers to AVR at all. Just wanted to go step by step. Please help! LOL!!
  4. Thanks for your input sir! I thought I might have the best set up but was very curious if there was a "work around" to gain any improvement in sound quality. I listen in the EXT. Stereo mode when on the pc (pandora, itunes, etc.)and occasionally while watching tv if the source isn't at least 5.1 surround. I'm still happy with the overall quality but as with most here....It's never enough!! Thanks again!
  5. Sorry Klipschtastic, I didn't mean to get off topic with my own question to Mustang Guy. It looks like your TX 8050 is a network able receiver. If it's connected to your network (hardwired) and your other AVR is capable, you could add them to the network and stream wirelessly to them thru your modem if wireless capable. edit: assuming your laptop is wireless
  6. Is your PC hooked up directly to your Onkyo via HDMI / VGA or directly to your monitor? The reason I'm asking is my media pc is running thru my AVR via HDMI then HDMI to my TV. I've been wondering if I would benefit (sound quality) by running toslink from the pc to the AVR and pc directly to the tv via HDMI. The only source my AVR indicates now is stereo when streaming pandora, media player, etc. Not too sure if digital is possible by making any changes..........Thanks!
  7. My new guide showed up Wednesday....HUGE improvement! I did call them about the guide and they said they had to send out the authorization codes. I don't know if that helped as they said it would show up in 24 hours yet it still took another 4 days.
  8. Has anyone upgraded to this? link Right now they say it is for new customers only but they said a few others have been released. There is also a newer TV technology called RVU-enabled TV. Looks like if you have this receiver, any TV in the home that is "RVU" enabled can connect without the need for an additional receiver in that room. It also provides picture in picture and much more storage than their current DVR receivers. Just curios if anyone has this yet and if so what their thoughts are. Thanks!
  9. That's great! You did better than me as you don't have to return a KC. Did you find a new one or bid on a good condition used? Either way you'll be happy with the match to your towers. I'm very happy with the crisp dialogue of mine.
  10. Thanks for the input and suggestions.
  11. Here's a great thread on this. Somewhat lengthy but very informative. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=992122
  12. Correct me if I'm wrong but typically if my subs were in opposite corners or opposite walls wouldn't I then need to change the phase settings to avoid any cancellation issues? I ask this as I may re-arrange my room in the future. Thanks again!
  13. both are on the same plane.... Thanks guys, I waited til my friend came over to change phase as I wanted to be in the primary listening position while he changed the setting. It made no difference so I set it back to "0" Appreciate the replies. Happy New Year!
  14. Who says I'm irritated? I'm not in the least and I do appreciate your input. yes to all Room size is 22' x 15' with a 10' ceiling. The subs sit on the outside of each main on the long wall of my room about 1 foot away from the wall. I've experimented with corner placement but no noticeable difference than where they now sit.
  15. I was having an issue with the auto on and the adapters corrected the "wake up" function...thanks
  16. I just wanted to verify that I'm getting the best results from my subs.......... Sub (2) settings: (same settings on both) EQ Mode: Flat Lowpass / LFE Mode: Off Phase: 0 Volume: -20db A/V Receiver Settings: Crossover: 80hz (only choices are 50/80/100/150/200) LFE: 0db (only choices -5db/-10db/-15db/-20db/or off) EQ: On All speakers are set to small in my 5.1 HT setup and my mains are running in bi-amp configuration. Y adapter from the 7.1 receiver into each sub with Y adapters at each sub. Any thoughts or comments as to anything I may be doing wrong or missing are greatly appreciated...............
  17. That's great! I would imagine due to the KF's being half price on black Friday, a lot of people bought the matching center hence the b/o status. Yeah, with our modest systems it will be a long road. However, after reading so many post on this forum, the journey sounds like an exciting expedition!! Good luck.............
  18. That's correct but I found a brand new VC-25 on ebay. They pop up periodacally. As for the KC-25, you shouldn't have any trouble (unless outside of the states) getting one new as they are exclusive to BB. link I looked at several stores in my area and all but one has stock. Your dillema was the same as mine and was my original post on this forum. The KC was recommended to me and was what I went with until I found the VC. I purchased for my current system. I can't comment on mixing reference components as I never have but was told to keep my front sound stage within the same series.
  19. plus 1 I bought the KC-25 as the VC-25 was no longer available. A brand new VC-25 showed up on ebay a couple of weeks later. I purchased it while still within my return period on the KC-25. I was still very happy with the sound of the KC-25 with my V series fronts.
  20. Wishing all of you the very best in 2012 !
  21. Not sure where you're located but here's a decent looking package deal. Might try to see if they will seperate. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/ele/2771436703.html
